I think the 30 second equip cooldown would balance this enough. It's not like people actually did that in the 7 or so months when it was possible to do it, right? It's just a nice extra twist, one more display of "skill" that had to be taken away because of something completly unrelated.

The blue mentioned it worked like old LGG did so I strongly suspect this is the case. I could definitely use an alternative to my Talisman of the Horde. 400-something healing with MS up is just... great. It's also ilvl 90 which is a joke. Why it doesn't heal for more is beyond me.

Switching gear takes skill?

Tracking an increasingly large number of variables is a "skill". How many people have you beaten because they forgot to use a cooldown they had available? Or someone who forgot about an ability they had but hardly ever use?

I played a good 3 hours of WSG last weekend dual wielding my Brewfest Mug/Dark Iron Mug, unknowingly....

Season 3 Scenario Viability

Greetings to all!

My question is this:

Let's say Blizzard announces that in 2 weeks, Season three will begin. I have a 2 vs 2 team with four friends. Two of those members have played 200 or so games on season two but have stopped playing after rating reached ~1650 or so, mostly because of respec costs and not wanting to farm money like cyborgs. In any case, if I play 2vs2 games with my Paladin companion and bring our rating above 1850 before season 3 starts and assuming the other two members that were not playing have the points to buy the weapons that they got from other teams, will it be possible for all 4 members to buy the weapons right off the bat?

Is this a viable scenario? This is basically a question of what rating is assigned to members the very first day of season 3. Do all team members that very same day get the same team rating when they log in after just having installed the patch?

Given the fact that before season three personal rating calculations did not exist it might be reasonable to assume that it would be the case, but maybe some of you are privy to information that others do not have

In any case, thanks for the consideration and thanks for maintaining this site. It has always been a good source of information for me, especially the DPS spreadsheets.

Regards,
Andurel

No, you'll start out season 3 at 1500, regardless of how you ended season 2. You'll need to get your season 3 rating up to 1850 before you can buy weapons.

Rootbreaker,

Blizzard stated they would not reset Team ratings for season 3. Therefore my question still stands.

Why would they not reset team ratings? I thought the point was to prevent people from hoarding points and then buying weapons for PVE the first week into a season.

I went back to mmo-champion.com to look for the post. I did not find it. The only thing I found was the bit about arena points and honor not resetting which is completely different.

Thanks for the replies.

Team ratings may or may not reset, but your personal rating will start at 1500 most likely (since it hasn't existed until now), and hence, you need to get that rating up to 1850 first before buying weapons

crosspost from 2.3 patch notes thread

Chastise is:

0.5 second cast
20 yard range
30 second cooldown
Deals damage and disorients the target for two seconds

Rank 1: Level 20, costs 50 mana, 47-53 holy damage.
Rank 2: Level 30, costs 100 mana, 93-107 holy damage.
Rank 3: Level 40, costs 135 mana, 139-161 holy damage.
Rank 4: Level 50, costs 180 mana, 209-241 holy damage.
Rank 5: Level 60, costs 225 mana, 278-322 holy damage.
Rank 6: Level 70, costs 300 mana, 370-430 holy damage.

Starshards is:

Instant cast
30 yard range
30 second cooldown

Highest rank has no mana cost, deals 785 arcane damage over 15 seconds

These new spells might just be relevant for pvp.

Chastise is the most stupid spell possible for the survival of a Holy Priest in PVP, especially in the smaller brackets, and devastating on a 2345 burst, the best part about it? Ausmara is a Dwarf.
