Blizzard needs to wipe the rating slate clean, otherwise there is absolutely no sense in calling something a new season.

I find it hard to believe anyone who was serious enough to achieve 2200+ is gonna hang around at less than 2k rating for two entire weeks. Furthermore these teams make up less than 1% percent of the playerbase. How these teams are supposed to stomp every 1600 rated team for 2 weeks straight is beyond my imagination.

There really wasn't any problems going for season 1 to season 2 so i suspect same procedure.

It takes a couple of weeks to build your rating, because all teams start at 1500 they soon won't give any points so it's pretty hard to get over 1800. Once more teams play and have time to raise their rating then things slowly get back to normal. It took 2-3 weeks at the start of season 2.

Also the point of resetting the ratings is that all the inactive teams at the top of the ladder would have to play again. Currently most of the top of the ladder is dead.

You need occasional resets to prevent things from getting stale. Also, you want to reign in point acquisition a bit right after new gear is released. Further, with personal ratings starting at 1500, not resetting the ladders would make no sense.

I have to admit, I had to re-read the set stats a couple of times to fathom why this bonus was deemed worthy of S3 gloves. Assuming PvP gear, you're "saving" 150-240damage every 12 seconds if you spam the ability. If you consider the ability cooldown, you end up saving roughly 14 health every second. With most well geared priests using 11k health or above, I am lost for words as to how horrible this is. In fact even the Season 2 gloves with the additional +1sec on Psychic Scream are better than this, and they wern't particulary good in the first place.

Some random thoughts for better bonuses:

Equip: Gives your Inner Fire and Power Word: Fortitude abilities cast on yourself a 30% chance to resist Dispel effects.
Equip: Gives you Inner Fire effect +200 armour
Equip: Gives you a 50% chance to avoid casting pushback while casting Mind Blast
Equip: Reduces the cast time of Vampiric Touch by 0.2sec
Equip: Your Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch effects have a 20% chance to resist Dispel effects
Equip: Your Psychic Scream has a 1 second Horror effect

Not really sure where to put this other than perhaps a new thread.

I'm curious if anyone knows/can explain how Blizzard determines eligibility for the various ranks at the end of the season. Primarily I am wondering if they DQ any teams based on the current players games played. For instance if two players bought a team that has 500 games total played and only have 50 played themselves will they still take up a spot in the calculations for gladiator/duelist/etc?

As I was bored earlier and looking through the top ~150 teams on BG9 I was really dismayed at how many teams are obviously either bought teams or teams with one player holding the team but having no games played.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think currently you need 20% games of the total team games played to be eligible for the rank. In Season 3 with the introduction of Personal Rating, I think this won't be needed, as the Personal Rating is enough to rate a player, but this is only my guess.

Has there been any word yet on whether the requirements for s2 gladiator will be any different from the s1? I wanna know if Blizzard might do something like make teams with no games played this season not count towards the overall total

Hi

Just a very quick question that’s bugging me as I wonder what to do with all my honor points saved up for season 3. I want to spend points on what would be the biggest upgrades. The first choice is easy, upgrade my s1 neck to s3, from there though everything else I have is s2.

However I just thought, can you equip the s2 ring and the s3 ring at the same time? - currently I roll with the s2 ring and the lvl 67 ring that you get from spirit shard farming. Upgrading from the lvl 67 ring to the s3 ring would be huge.

Does anyone know if you can equip the s3 & s2 ring at the same time? Has anyone done it with the s1 & s2 rings?

Thanks

Its a lot more obvious if you use the correct names.

Yes the [Vindicator's Band of Salvation] can be worn with the [Veteran's Band of Salvation]

Hey all, first post on these forums

Something's been bugging me for a while now regarding my 2v2 arena team. I do 2v2 with a rogue partner and we've been busy gearing up for season 3. Looking through the patch notes, though, I notice this
• Blind is now a physical (no longer a poison) attack. Reagent requirement removed. Now shares the same diminish category as Cyclone and is now diminished in PvE as well as PvP.
I'm rather worried that the success of my team will be compromised with this change. Druid/rogue teams rely on chaining CCs to bring down the target (usually a dpser) during a cyclone>cyclone>cyclone>feral charge>bash>blind>cyclone rotation. Blind sharing DR with cyclone really shits over this strategy.

What are your views on the rogue/druid combo in season 3? Will it be viable, albeit weaker? Or should i continue my level 51 priest to achieve a higher rate of success?

It will be weaker in those situations, but so much stronger against more teams overall. It can only be removed via Insignia, no longer subject to Abolish, Cleanse, Stoneform, Poison Cleansing Totem etc. Definitely stronger overall.

Ick, didn't know about BoP, but I was assuming all immunity based abilities like Iceblock and Divine Shield removed it.

I am not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but here is a blue post regarding inactive teams. It will be interesting to see what Blizzard is going to define as inactive teams.

As I've been checking out the S3 gear, I've noticed something odd, and wonder if anyone has any knowledge about it. Reading Drysc's post at WoW Forums -> Selling Arena Teams?, he specifically states that the required personal arena rating is required to buy the item but not to use it.

In contrast, examining the gear itself on the PTR (reference http://www.worldofraids.com/news/oct...ena/hunter.jpg), it would appear that the shoulders require a personal arena rating of 2000 to use, much like Thottbot World of Warcraft: Ebon Netherscale Breastplate requires that your character be Dragonscale Leatherworking to use it. If your character drops Leatherworking, you can no longer equip it.

Is my understanding of the situation correct?

They tried "required to use" back with the old honor system and it was a desaster. So I doubt that they will go there again. Especially since you can switch teams.

The wording may be because their current system is unable to properly express "rating required to purchase".

That's probably the tooltip of the item on the s3 vendor. The requirement would disappear once the item is bought, I assume, though I'm just using reasoning and could very well be wrong.

Hi all

I'm a long time reader but only recently registered I have a 70 druid which I just started pvping with and his gear is mostly pve (t4 or lower) stuff.. I am trying to accumulate honor to be able to buy most of the pvp stuff since playing in arena with cloth/pve items is pretty close to suicide. I was wondering if anyone could suggest to me what I should with the points.. will I wait for the new season (btw is it starting anytime soon - 2/3 weeks?) Or do i go ahead and buy the medallion/bracers/etc ?

If new s3 stuff is coming out should I wait for those or buy the cheaper s2 items?

Do you reckon the medallion of the horde will be reduced in price since nothing is coming to replace it or is it safe to buy it now?

Cheers!

Buy the medallion before anything else - after that... well, the veterans ring can be worn with the vindicators ring, so wont really be a waste either. After that, it becomes much more of a judgement call on how long you think it is untill 2.3 goes live, and what your tolerance for honour grinding is.
