Summary of 2.3 Gear Changes
Here is a list consolidated list of all the new Season 3 gear or PvP specific gear currently known about. I'm assuming that Season 3 is going to coincide with 2.3's release and all this will be available at once.

Confirmed Gear
* Season 3 Arena Gear: Vengeful Gladiator- New 5 piece sets for all the specs, new weapons and relics. Earned via Arena Points.
** S3 shoulders require a 2000 personal rating to buy.
** S3 weapons (other than the hunter melee weapon) require a 1850 personal rating to buy.
* New Honor Gear - Vindicator's - Includes Boots/Belt/Bracers and Ring/Neck. Earned via Honor Points.
* Back - Earned via 60 Badges of Justices (Heroics/Kara/Zul'Aman)
** Healing, Physical DPS, Magic DPS
* Trinkets - 5 New +Max health trinkets. Earned via 75 Badge of Justice
* Season 1 Arena gear moves to Honor Vendors. Earned via honor points.

* S1 5 piece total cost: 65250 Honor, 50 AB Tokens, 50 AV Tokens, 30 WSG Tokens
* S3 5 piece total cost: 8250 Arena Points

Slots not receiving upgrades
* No sign of an upgraded version of Medallion of Horde/Alliance. (Note: Nowhere was this ever mentioned, but its the only PvP specific slot that hasn't received a seasonal upgrade.) yet.)

I did see a blue post saying something along the lines of S3 not necessarily coinciding with the release of 2.3, but that advanced warning would definitely be given before the season finished up. However after clicking the link in my browser history it appears that the thread has been removed (it was about season 1 arena gear honor point costs), so maybe this has changed now. With S3 starting on the PTR I guess they will most likely coincide.

Nice post, although out of curiosity why the * on some points and ** on others?

I'm pretty relieved to see that the upgrades are slight enough to ignore for a little while. I'll pick up the back and trinket (/sigh @ heroics) for sure but the others can wait while I gear up an alt or 2 I think.


(also thanks for pointing out the healing wand in the other thread, one less vein threatening to burst out of my forehead)

You might want to list the new slots or item types. Season three has slow OHs for dagger, fist weapon, and axe. It also has a hunter-only 2-hander, a spell penetration wand, a healing wand, a spell penetration off-hand, and the librams/totems/relics for the non-healing talent specs. Also, the librams/totems/relics look to be added in as season one and two gear.

Anyone check to see how much honor the new honor items will require?

Specifically, the belt/boots/bracers/ring/neck. The same as season 2 is now, and season 1/2 dropping in cost I suppose. Still would be nice information to have.

I don't think the honor gear was ever put on vendors on the PTR, it was just datamined so no one really knows how much it costs.

Assuming it's like season 2, the season 3 Vindicator's honor armor will be the same honor cost as the current season 2 Veteran's gear and the season 2 gear will no longer be purchasable.

From what i have read there is suppose to be a big PVP patch to PTR today but last night i was on PTR and could actually get tot he vendors without horde AOE everythng like a bunch of idiots. I didnt see a personal rate for MH weapons(axe,sword,mace) but there was a 1850 rating for off hands and 2hers(not hunter axe). I'm not sure if this is a bug or something that is planned. I dont see anything wrong with MH not needing a rating since the shoulders are the only piece wtih a rating. Off hands could be a status csymbol i guess. Of course after this "patch" today thing might be different.

They wanted to limit access to the best pvp weapons based on performance. The shoulders are the status symbol component.

PvE offhand itemization is pretty terrible. They're fixing it somewhat for shaman by changing a bunch of main hand weapons into one hand weapons; however, I think for rogues it's still bad, and certainly largely dictated by the luck at the few decent PvE drops.

Can anyone confirm that you can use S2 honor ring and S3 honor ring of the same type, at the same time ?

The Wands do not require 1850 rating.

There is a spell penetration wand. I can't see any offhand with spell penetration on it.

Vengeful Gladiator's Kodohide have been reverted and has MP5 on it again instead of spirit.

The offhand was datamined but never actually showed up on the vendor.

All the trinkets that cost 75 badges have had the "Battlemaster's" prefix attached to it and thrown onto a vendor for 30,000 honor and 40 AV tokens. (Link)

The new battlemaster says that it shares a cooldown with other battlemaster trinkets, but it doesn't say if it shares a cooldown with the badge trinkets. Has anyone tried to get both to see if they share a cooldown?

Not sure if it's been mentioned but can you stack them with lifegiving gem? That could be good for a warrior against a 4 DPS team.

It looks like the Badge trinkets are the same as the honor trinkets, the badge trinkets were renamed to correspond with the honor ones NEW PTR Build : New PvP rewards, paladin changes.

Pretty sure I have LGG collecting dust in my somewhere in my bank and more than enough honor for the trinket, I can test it out when I get home this evening if no one responds by then.
