About vodka

vodka is a hardcore raiding guild that is driven by one goal: To be the best. We are never satisfied with our accomplishments and are always pushing forward to become better. This mentality has led to consistent long-term success.

Our guild was founded during the original release of World of Warcraft. From that time to the present day vodka has been a force to be reckoned with on the raiding scene. While the people and server have changed over time, the tradition and core values remain the same. Our desire to be the best and our standards of excellence are unwavering.

Currently vodka is stronger than ever and has a longstanding core of leaders and members. Our dedicated officers are always looking to improve the guild in new ways and take vodka to the next level. Every member of vodka loves the game, is active and on the leading edge of competitive game play in their class. Our guild has developed into a tight knit group of like minded players, all with one focus: To be the best and do whatever it takes to achieve that goal.

vodka has a lot to offer potential applicants. The first is leadership. Our guild is run by a group of highly motivated, competitive, talented, smart, dedicated players who always go above and beyond for the guild and every member. They provide structure and stability which allows raiding to be fun, smooth, and more importantly, efficient. The second is player development. We dedicate a lot of time to our recruitment process and each applicant. We look for like minded people with the most potential who are respectful, but can also hold their own in a challenging environment. vodka has a core of outstanding and knowledgeable players who are not only looking to improve themselves, but the people around them. Many people join as above average players and take their game to the next level here with support and insight from current members. The third is a fun, active community atmosphere. Meshing well with our guild is a must as an applicant, as that chemistry is invaluable during progression. Our guild has some great people that have a lot to offer. The friendships that you develop here will add a lot to your WoW raiding experience. vodka is a place you can call home.

What we're looking for

We at vodka are only looking for long term members who intend to raid with us all throughout Cataclysm. Everyone that joins will be an active raider and will be given a chance to make themselves stand out and earn their raid spot. Understand that during progression we will do whatever is necessary to make the encounter we're learning as easy as possible, which includes stacking the raid to the best of our ability. If you cannot handle being sat out for a fight do not waste our time. Please know we are very fair with how we handle sitting out certain classes. Everyone will see equal raid time whether it's progression or not.

Specific Recruiting Targets

Recruitment is always open to exceptional players of all classes. Our goal is to build the best raiding groups we can, even if that means bringing 4 or more of a certain class as long as all of those players have proven themselves. However, there are a couple classes/specs that we are specifically targeting.

Death Knight
Druid - 1 Balance, 1 Feral
Hunter
Paladin - 1 Holy, 1 Prot
Priest - All spec, must be able to play at least 2
Rogue
Shaman - All specs, must be able to play at least 2
Warlock

Applicant Requirements

Overall we're looking for players who are capable of raiding at a very high level. Players need to be able to communicate in vent when they're in a critical role. We also want players to learn to get to know the guild beyond the raids, trying to know the guild as a whole, whether it's pvping or socializing in game or in ventrilo - anything. We are not interested in raid loggers. As stated before we take raiding seriously despite how easy the encounter is. We are all competitive players even during farm content, and expect no less of our applicants.

Application Process

Our application process normally lasts about four weeks. However, it can be extended under certain circumstances. To fully test our applicants, we will always give them one of the hardest jobs in the raid. Note that our application process is very harsh - only the best of the best will make it to member status in vodka. We do not promote or keep average players, we need players that are completely confident in their abilities to play their class to the fullest. Mistakes are not forgotten and wiping the raid is very unforgiving, you will most likely be removed if this were to happen. If you know (not think) you have what it takes to compete with some of the best players in world, then you'll do fine in our guild. We don't settle for anything less than the best.

Schedule and Attendance

vodka raids always start at 7pm EST and last until 10-11pm during farm content. During progression we will raid as late as 1am, and if required we'll raid later. During progression we will raid 5 or 6 days a week, very rarely will we raid 7 days a week. After progression is all done we will be raiding very relaxed with a couple days off until new content comes out. If you cannot commit to this don't waste your time.

The following is our schedule, it is possible that raids will be extended if absolutely required.

Monday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Tuesday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Wednesday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Thursday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Friday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Saturday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Sunday: 7:00pm - 1:00am

While we still expect all members to be able to attend raids on Friday and Saturday if we schedule it ahead of time, we will only be raiding Fridays/Saturdays if required for progression. If you cannot commit to this do not apply. We require all our members to let us know in advance if they cannot attend a raid, failure to do so can result in removal.

We expect all applicants to be able to maintain close to 100% attendance during their trial period. We expect all members to maintain 90% attendance life time.
