About Desolation

We are focused on raiding 10-person instances. We are an older group, with a minimum application age of 25, unless people in guild can vouch for your maturity. Average age is probably mid to late 30s. We work well together, and can be very flexible about mid-fight changes when necessary. We work well because of our people, and how you can fit in is at least, if not more, important than your previous experience and knowledge of your class. We do not care for drama, and those who do will find their stay here to be very short. That said, our people are always open to change and learning, and excel in what they do.

We do not recruit "XP batteries" and if we accept you into the guild, we have full intentions of using you and having you in raids. While there are some part-time members and members on leave, we try not to recruit "for the bench." Our guild is as large as it is because of our alt-friendly stance.

Current Requirements

Due to some personal issues, some of our current roster cannot commit to full-time raiding at the moment. We are accepting applications from all classes (only mages are fully-represented, and only spectacular applications for this class will be considered for raiding mains), but would particularly like another dedicated tank (non-bear, if possible), a back-up tank or two with a decent DPS spec, and a couple of healers/DPS dual spec players. We are sorely lacking in melee DPS at the moment, and would be pleased to have an excellent rogue or other melee class apply, in addition to the hybrids we're asking for. For all dual-specced characters, we will do our best to gear both of your specs.

We do welcome alts of your main raiding character*, and will be implementing alt-night raiding runs for those interested, on weekends. There are always people interested in leveling, questing, PvP, achievement-chasing, or dungeon runs. If there is enough interest, we will work to create a dedicated PvP bracket team, and already have at least one guild arena team; however, raiding will always be our primary focus. We will also consider part-time people if you fit in, do not mind that you will be more of a back-up, and may not get into every raid that you're present for. That said, being about the raiding means that we are about our people, and will try to accommodate things to keep members happy.

Raid nights are Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, from 9pm-midnight, server time (EST).

* With the current guild system, alts are a win-win situation. We can offer perks to help you level more quickly and easily, and you can offer experience for the guild. However, we will ask that you stick to one main character for raiding progression nights. While we'll help you level and gear alts, alts are for emergencies and alt raiding nights. And for a fun break from your main.
