[Alliance][Arygos] <Envy> Sarth3D is looking for more for Ulduar
Envy of Arygos (EST PvE) is currently looking for more raiders to fill the ranks. We raid Monday to Thursday 7:30-11:30pm. We utilize a loot council/officer loot distribution system, and have been doing so successfully for 2 years.
Currently we need the following classes:
Druids - Balance, Resto
Hunters - Closed
Mages - Open
Paladins - Holy
Priests - Shadow, Holy
Shamans - Closed
Warlocks - Open
Warriors - Protection
Death Knights - Closed
Rogues - Open
Our goal is to have fun. However, we realize that fun can be defined via many aspects of this rich game. In our case, fun is beating the PvE content that Blizzard provides for us. In our case, fun is competition with local rivals for the number 1 spot on the server. In our case, it is accomplishing those feats while maintaining a friendly, but at the same time skilled and competitive atmosphere within our community.
Our immediate goals are finish the content before the release of Ulduar, and prepare our members for the next challenge.
As of now, we have yet to finish:
Normal Sartharion with 3 drakes up
I would like to take the opportunity to provide some history about our guild. Envy was formed just about 2 years ago, with the goals of tackling the content that was available to us in The Burning Crusade. We have progressed with noticeable swiftness, surpassing other guilds that were working on the same content. We were 24th. 23 other guilds were ahead of us. Undeterred, we made clear objectives and flew past them. Envy beat Kael'thas before the weapon health nerf patch. Our claim to fame is that we did it with a Protection Paladin tanking Kael'thas, which we believe was the world first protection paladin to do so (while this is not 100% confirmed, he was definitely one of the firsts).
We took the same drive into Black Temple and Mount Hyjal. Envy once again progressed very quickly, attaining a server second position (albeit temporarily) in the process. We cemented our server third/alliance second position by the time of Illidan's death. After checking the statistics, we have managed to uncover some record times that we did not even know about. Our journey from Lurker to Illidan was faster than any other guild on the server.
Shortly after Sunwell came out, the guild tackled the content and managed to down Brutallus keeping our server third position. Our first Brutallus kill resulted in higher raid dps than the server's top guild. Unfortunately, following Illidan's death it was the end of the game for many. We aim to have a small reliable roster, and burnout is one of the disadvantages of said approach. We were unable to fill the spots in time and we simply decided to take a break until Wrath of the Lich King came out. We have retained our server position for a while after the guild stopped raiding.
I hope this gives you an idea about our approach to the game, and, while our accomplishments may not be world-topping, we believe they are still very much credible enough to strike some pride in our hearts.
Now that the expansion came out, Envy has made a return. As expected - not everyone was back, however a portion of the core still plays and is looking forward to taking the server by storm and aiming for the top this time around.
We have done everything from the 10 mans to 25 man Sartharion with 3 drakes and 25 man Malygos. We are currently working on Sartharion 10 man with 3 drakes.
Why we are here
As mentioned in the sticky of /LFguild, this community harbours a vast portion of the players that we want. By posting here, we hope to receive some interest from players who share our goals and want to play with players of the same mould.
What we look from you
I am sure every one of us has had the displeasure (and sometimes pleasure!) of playing with players of a poor caliber. From our experience, it is not productive playing with those people when it comes to meeting our goals. If you are currently going through the aforementioned, we implore you to consider this opportunity.
Envy is an "adult" guild. This means we revel in unsophisticated humor such as fart and mom jokes. We cuss heavily. We bash each other with unmitigated sarcasm. We therefore require our members to have "thick-skins." Again, take nothing seriously. That being said, we respect each others' feelings, desires, and quality of life and gaming.
We seek people that are:
That means you come to the raids on time prepared with consumables ready, strats read, and raring to give your 110% to the raid.
That means when we wipe, you can contribute to the analysis of the cause for the wipe and be able to build on it in order to prevent it from happening again, which would ultimately lead us to beating the encounter.
That means that your character is enchanted, gemmed and specced properly in order to give that 110% to the raid.
You have to know your class and its mechanics and be able to apply that knowledge while in raids. We have outlined our goals, and teaching others how to play their classes is not one of them.
While our current stage allows the applicant some breathing room, and as we all know, the gear does not generally make the player, we will not take anyone in greens or blues. Your competitiveness is easily displayed by the dedication to your character. If you have not made the effort to obtain that easily attainable trinket from the badge vendor, do not bother wasting anyone's time.
If you are looking to raid with skilled, critically-thinking players then Envy is for you. We have big goals, a respected reputation on the server and an established community.
If this interests you or you have any questions, please do not hesitate to visit our website and fill out an application. Alternatively, you may contact me here or roll an alt on Arygos and whisper Peenshot, Remendium or Dezi.
I want to thank you for your time and wish you the best of luck!
