About Us:
Greatly Exaggerated is an alliance guild on the Korialstrasz server, a medium-population PVE realm. We began in early August of 2007 as a guild looking to see all there was to see in TBC and at the same time do it first. Quite simply, we accomplished this goal, holding the server first position all the way through Sunwell.
For Wrath, we added some new faces and proceeded to clear all content within one month of release. We continued on with our progression leading all the way up to completing both Heroic and Normal Glory of the Raider Meta Achievements before the release of Ulduar. Since 3.1, we have led our server's charge through Ulduar, netting us the Server Firsts all the way through Yogg-Saron and continued through Hard Modes. At this time we are progressing steadily through Hard Modes in preparation for Algalon.
Why GE?
- Our raiders are treated with respect. This is not a dictatorship nor is it the military and you will not be treated as such. That is not to say repeat mistakes will be tolerated, however, you will never be verbally abused for slipping up.
- We run a member-elected loot council. Easily obtain off-spec gear in a non-officer-biased loot council that you can trust.
- We raid less than the majority of guilds (maximum of 3 nights a week @ 4 hours each) but progress as quickly as a 5+ night guild.
- You will not be a number or a bench warmer. We run a very small roster meaning if recruited you will be seeing large amounts of raiding.
- Raids are taken seriously due to our limited time which leads to quicker (currently 3 hours for all content), more efficient clears with less downtime.
Schedule:
Wednesday - 8:00-12:00 EST
**Thursday - 8:00-12:00 EST (2 Week Progression Only)**
Sunday - 7:00-12:00 EST
Monday - 8:00-12:00 EST
Invites always go out 20 min prior to the raid.
Class Needs
We are currently accepting applicants of all classes for Summer with particular need for:
1 Elemental Shaman
1 Holy Priest
As with any guild these needs are always fluctuating and we are always open to any exceptional applicants. If you would like to check the status of your class' recruitment then the most up to date status can always be found at our
site.
What we are looking for:
In short, show us you care and that you are worth our time. We are willing to help out but you also have to take the first step yourself.
Determination - We are looking for players who come to every raid ready to give their all. This does not mean you do just enough to get by, nor does it mean you do your best on progression and slack off on farm content. We are looking for people who always look to do better and challenge themselves. If using 2 healers/2 tanks on Patchwerk or 4 healers on OS+3 sounds stupid to you then you need not apply.
Dedication - We do not have, and do not want, an overabundance of players on our raiding roster. Because of this we are looking for someone who is able to make every raid more often than not. While this sounds like a lot, remember we only raid 3 days a week which is asking for no more attendance than a 5 night a week guild.
Knowledge - At this time, we frankly do not care whether you are in full 25 Man Epics or just heroic gear. What we do care about is that you make the most out of what you have. 10 Stats vs. 8 Stats? 63 Spell Power vs. 50 Spell Power? Exalted Hodir? These are all things we look for in an applicant. In addition, your spec, glyphs, gems etc all give us an insight into what you know about your class. We are looking for people who know their class inside and out and can show us.
Skill - Finally the most important but also the most obvious. We are not looking for people who drag their feet, get swept up in a flame wall, can't move out of a void zone or can't tell positive from negative. Being able to do 8,000 DPS on a fight doesn't mean anything if it falls to 2,000 on a movement heavy fight or worse if you're dead.
Apply!
Our application can be found on our
forums.
If you are interested and meet the above criteria then please head on over to the above link, create an account and put up a thread. We will get back to you within 24 hours, most likely with some questions, and try to determine whether or not you would be a good fit. If you are, we will ask you for a vent interview and proceed from there.
In addition you can personally contact myself (Halomyr) or Kafferty online at any time with any questions you may have.
We look forward to hearing from you and wish you good luck wherever your guild search may take you!
