About Vis Maior

Vis Maior is an extremely dedicated and well established raiding guild, its core forming back in early Everquest. We pride ourselves on maintaining a small, tight-knit roster while competing for worldwide top boss kills. We finished TBC with a US 6th KJ kill. We cleared Ulduar 4 days after its release and are currently working on various hard modes. Our hard mode kills have been competitive so far: Thorim, Hodir, Steelbreaker have all been killed – we’re currently working on Freya.

We also pride ourselves on accomplishing raid achievements for all of our members. We made sure each active raiding member was able to achieve Glory of the Raider and Heroic: Glory of the Raider before 3.1 was released. Currently in Ulduar, we run two separate 10 man groups: one for a quick clear for badges / gear (while still doing certain hard modes), and one dedicated to picking up various achievements through the instance along with the hard modes. In our 25 man raids, we make sure to knock out a few achievements each week while still focusing our time and energy into hard mode progression.

Requirements

Class: We’re always looking for exceptional players, but we’re especially interested in the classes listed above.

Raid Times: 5:30 PST – 11:00 PST Sun – Thurs. We will start earlier, end later and add Fridays / Saturdays if necessary during progression.

Transfer Info: Bonechewer (US). If accepted, you are expected to transfer immediately.

Skill: We expect you to be exceptional at your class – you must be thoroughly versed in all PVE aspects of your class, preferably across multiple specs.

Attendance: We only recruit full-time raiders. We run a very tight roster (currently at 29 core raiders), so you are expected to maintain near 100% attendance and will rotate with members based on the needs of the raid.

Attitude: Vis Maior is more than just a raiding guild, we’re also a community. We hang out on vent before and after raids. We play DOTA, do heroics, arenas and PvP together. We also gear alts and participate in alt raids outside of progression. All recruits must fit into the guild’s atmosphere as well – the guild is full of smartasses and you will be judged on your performance at all times. If you have a hard time accepting criticism or taking jokes, then this is not the guild for you.

Gear / Experience: You have must have T7 quality gear and experience in order to apply at this point – we’re not currently in a position to gear someone out while trying to progress through Ulduar hard modes. We also prefer players with experience in Sunwell – preferably pre-3.0 Twins, M’uru and KJ.

Do not waste your time looking for a template to follow – one does not exist.
