Warpath, the leading Alliance guild on the Illidan server, is looking for a few good applicants to join us in the upcoming progression that will accompany Icecrown Citadel's release. We have been a leading guild since release, and will continue to be a stable and enjoyable environment for those of us craving the cutting edge of raiding.
About Us:
Warpath is a tight knit community, and many of our members have been around since Classic WOW. We run a lot of pugs, and a large amount of content for alts is completed on a weekly basis. We are primarily a young adult guild, with most members aged 18-29. Ventrilo, guild and raid chat are typically not suitable for those under 18.
We recently obtained the "Mad Skill" achievement for Trial of the Grand Crusader, after obtaining Tribute to Skill on our first downing of Anub'arak. After we finish progression in ToGC (Insanity!) we will simply farm every hard mode weekly until Icecrown so we can swim around in our giant vault of epics Scrooge McDuck style. To ensure maximum epic bathing ability, we are looking to bolster our ranks with exceptional applicants.
We do not recruit for bench, these are raiding spots.
Needed Classes:- 1 x Holy Paladin
- 1 x Mage or Warlock
Progression:- A Tribute to Mad Skill (25) - October 27, 2009
- A Tribute to Dedicated Insanity (10) - October 13, 2009
- A Tribute to Skill (25) - October 11, 2009
- Call of the Grand Crusade + Tribute to Skill - October 11, 2009
- A Tribute to Insanity (10) - September 16, 2009
- Alone in the Darkness (25) - August 26, 2009
- Algalon the Observer (25) - August 7, 2009
- Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25) - July 17, 2009
- Algalon the Observer (10) - June 16, 2009
Minimum Requirements:- A full set of ilvl 226 epic gear. Depending on your class, we might waive this in favor of EXTENSIVE raiding experience. Higher is obviously preferable, and we're well aware some lower ilvl trinkets are better (so lower is fine).
- Thorough understanding of your class. That means proper spec, gems, enchantments, and raiding professions. It also means you know the most efficient way to play your class.
- A working, clear microphone and up-to-date Ventrilo. Fluent use of the English language. If you are unable to communicate clearly (both via typing and speaking) we are uninterested.
- Knowledge of all current hard-modes. Things WILL be explained before a fight that is new to you but you must come prepared with the knowledge of fight mechanics.
- Severe aversion to standing in, being hit by, or spreading the following: black holes, blasts, bombs, breaths, cleaves, clouds, crashes, drama, explosions, fires, mines, poisons, tail whips, void zones, and volleys.
- Flexibility. No guild in the game makes it using an exact roster of 25. Some people will sit out some of the time, nobody will be made to sit out all of the time. If you are a good player and are accepted into our guild you will never want for a raid spot. That said, we are only looking to recruit raiders that can make 4/5 of our raids (or more) on a regular basis.
Schedule:
Illidan is a CST server, raids are SUNDAY - THURSDAY 6:30PM - 11:30PM.
- PST: 4:30PM - 9:30PM
- MST: 5:30PM - 10:30PM
- CST: 6:30PM - 11:30PM
- EST: 7:30PM - 12:30PM
During progression, we typically raid an average of 4 nights per week for 3-4 hours a night. The times listed above are our most extreme times. Raids generally do not ever go over these times, and are frequently shorter but flexibility is obviously favorable. During farm content, the raid week shrinks to 1-2 nights per week. Raiders are expected to make at least 80% of raids with consistency. Exceptions are made for holidays, illnesses, special occasions or unforeseen circumstances.
Loot Distribution:
We distribute loot via a modified DKP system with diminishing returns which allows new members to become competitive quickly with good attendance. Applicants do not earn DKP but are welcome to take any item that no member wants for their main spec at no cost. Our applicants get caught up in gear very quickly, because most members have most of the gear they need. If you are worried about falling forever behind in gear/DKP compared to our long-term members, be advised that our loot system is very friendly to new players.
