Kel'Thuzad
[Alliance][Kel'Thuzad]<Pacifist> Open: 1-2 Healers, 1 DPS For 10 Man Raiding

We Are Currently Looking For:
  • Healers (1-2): We currently have a consistent restoration shaman, a fairly consistent discipline priest, and a retribution paladin as holy for our healing. Obviously we need a couple more people. We're not looking for any specific class here but a Restoration Druid or Holy Priest would probably be highest on our list.
  • Ranged DPS (1): Our current raid composition is very heavily stacked towards melee and so we're looking to add a couple ranged DPS to balance the group out a bit. A Hunter is the only class with any preference here, as it would provide even more synergy with the rest of our physical DPS, but any type of ranged is more than welcome - Balance Druids and Elemental Shaman would provide a nice benefit to our casters and healers as well.

About Us

Pacifist was created in December 2004 and through the middle of Burning Crusade was the dominant PvE guild on the server. Around the time of Black Temple/Hyjal, quite a few of the oldest members had stopped playing and the guild as a raiding entity ceased to be. The community of players, however, remained and a number of people continued to play casually both on Kel'Thuzad and on other servers. After the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, a number of the old members decided to return to KT and reform the guild as a raiding group again, focused on 10 man content. We generally find the 10 mans more enjoyable and less stressful - none of us are interested in 25 man progression raiding anymore, but do still want to experience the challenges and rewards of 'difficult' content. We have Gladiator-level PvPers as well, but generally our focus is on the PvE aspect of the game.

We currently are raiding 3 times a week for ~3 hours a night (although certain nights are much less), starting at 7 pm server time (MST). A typical week for us involves Vault of Archavon, Onyxia, ToC (Regular & Heroic) and an Ulduar run through Thorim in search of trinkets. We do also run pug groups for 25 man Vault/Onyxia/ToC (Regular), usually on the same days that we do our 10 mans (with the exception of the 25 ToC). Most of us actually dislike doing the 25 mans, but for now they are too easy to ignore and we've built a decent reputation on the server for running efficient and effective pugs, which tends to be self-sustaining as the same people come back week-to-week.

Since coming back to Kel'Thuzad we've made decent progress in meeting our goals, finishing a batch of Ulduar drakes in a little over 2 instance resets and completing Tribute to Mad Skill in ToGC 10. We're primarily recruiting to add more people for Icecrown and its hard modes, but we're also aiming for Insanity (which we've barely missed due to bad luck and bad excuses more than once, but primarily because our raid composition has been a little dicey in the last two weeks).

We use the simple group loot system at the moment, though in some cases there is an element of council-based loot as well (tank priority etc). None of this is very formal - as I said, our group has been playing together for a long time; we expect people to be more interested in the content than their gear score. Items are both the reward for completing content and the tools for progressing further, and as such we like to see it distributed in such a way that it benefits the group as a whole as best as possible.

Our Expectations

Just because we are focused on 10 man content does not mean we don't expect exceptional play from our members. As I said, the majority of our group has a great deal of progression raiding experience and we expect you to quickly understand the mechanics of each fight, the intricacies of your class and the most efficient way to combine the two to make our raids as smooth and effective as possible.

You should enjoy the game, your class, and the content we're trying to do. Wiping/frustration is an inevitable part of the challenge to the game - you need to be able to handle criticism and be willing to put in the effort to overcome these obstacles. Suggestions on improving our strategies or helping to point out fixable problems are always welcome. Along those lines, we require you to be on Ventrilo and be able to provide feedback when asked about what wrong (or right).

All of the other usual expectations apply - we expect people to show up to the majority of raids, and to alert us when they know they will be unable to be online. People who log on for raids and disappear immediately until the next week are not what we're interested in - being actively involved in the guild, helping other people, showing up to farm content are all expected. The ability to communicate clearly is another very important element for us; you don't have to be anal retentive about grammar or spelling, but the difference between "u" and "you" is both two letters and a bad impression.

How To Apply

If the above sounds interesting to you and you'd like to learn more or send an application, please visit our forums - Pacifist. There you can find our application template and some more information about the guild.

You can also contact myself (Spheric) or Nexous (Carboncopy) either in-game or on the forums with any questions or comments.

Once you've submitted an application we will review it and get back to you quickly. Our goal is to get people into the guild as soon as we've found people we think are suitable - we will do a "trial" of sorts - mostly to get a feel for how you fit with the group. There won't be any restrictions on loot or additional expectations above our standard set; either you meet them or you don't.
