Cohors Praetoria is an alliance guild on the Vek'nilash server. We're looking to add several players to our roster.
Player skill and personality is far more important to us than class or spec, but we are especially interested in:
• Holy Paladin
• Rogue or Feral Druid
• Enhancement or Elemental Shaman
• Moonkin
About Cohors:
Cohors Praetoria has been raiding on Vek’nilash since TBC release, and many of our members have been playing MMORPGs together since before World of Warcraft. In TBC we cleared all raid content and in WLK so far:
• Glory of the Raider
• Glory of the Ulduar Raider, Algalon
• ToGC - Tribute to Insanity
• ICC up to the Lich King (with Lich King dead on 10-man)
We’ve been running on a raiding schedule of 12 hours a week during progression basically since our inception on Vek'nilash. Our raid times are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 7pm to 10pm server time (CST). We’re looking for people who can make at least 3 / 4 of our raid times on a regular basis for the foreseeable future. This is a lot less raid time than many guilds these days, and while we're not looking to get server firsts or beat anybody to the punch on content, we are looking to progress efficiently while we're raiding.
Cohors is a tight-knit group composed of adults. Some of our members are students but mostly we're people with full-time jobs, some with families and children. We provide some perks like guildbank-funded repairs and guildbank assistance with consumables, enchants and resist gear. In general we’re a pretty laid back group that focuses well during our raid time each week.
About You:
We're looking for players who, regardless of role, are quick learners with strong situational awareness. You understand your class well – spec, preferred stats, soft caps, rotations – and can prove it to us on your application and during your trial period.
At this point in the WLK expansion our attention is pretty much exclusively focused on ICC (with some time spent on that new VoA boss and the raid weekly). Preferably you have gear that is primarily ToC+, but we’ll take a skilled but lesser-geared applicant if you are willing to put in the effort to catch up. We expect applicants, regardless of gear level, to have demonstrated that they've got what it takes to be a raider - that means that all of your gear is gemmed and enchanted appropriately, that you've gotten all the easily obtainable badge upgrades, and so on.
Besides that we’re looking for people who are mature and relaxed with a good sense of humor and who will generally put the needs of the raid ahead of the needs of their character.
If you’re interested we’d love to talk to you - please visit us at
