[Alliance][Bleeding Hollow] <Decidedly Uncouth> 11/12 HM ICC25 -- LFM Healers & DPS
Decidedly Uncouth? Interesting name and you're on Arthas in ICC25H. Tell me more.
I'm glad you asked. Our officer core has been together since 2005, during the glory days of Molten Core. Since that time, we've been through a few name changes, mergers, and server transfers. But our raiding community has stayed strong throughout all of those changes. Our roster is full of like-minded individuals. They want to see end game PvE content and they don't want to deal with bads. To that last point, we would rather underman raids than tag someone who is only there because we need a body. Case and point, our first ToGC Jaraxxus and Faction Champ kills were with 22 and 23 people.
The majority of our members are in their twenties and thirties, with a sprinkle of teenage angst in the guild. If you don't have a thick skin and can't deal with a little... uncouth humor, you might want to think twice about applying.
We keep our roster small, usually around 30-35 people. We do not recruit for the bench. All of our members see plenty of raid time. Because our roster is so small, we highly encourage people to gear up an off spec or an alt, and know how to play it well. We also expect 80% to 90% raid attendance.
We use a modified EPGP loot system, with off spec loot tracked separately from main spec. In the 3+ years we have been using this system, we've had no complaints.
Our raid times are Monday through Thursday, 7:30p EST until 11:00p EST, with invites going out at 7:15p. We rarely push past 11pm, but it's been known to happen once or twice during progression encounters.
As for our server, we've been on Bleeding Hollow (PvP) since October 2009. Which is a Dallas hosted server, EST server time, and in the Ruin battlegroup. The server is a medium-high pop, skewing more towards high. We experience very little lag in our raids, usually only on Tuesday during Wintergrasp with an Ulduar raid weekly, and even then it's rare. The economy is strong and healthy, and there are plenty of trade chat PUGs and GDKP runs. You couldn't ask for more from a server.
Sounds great. What are you guys looking for?
Exceptional Healers and DPS of any class to compete and earn a raid spot in Icecrown Citadel Hard Modes.
Exceptional? What does that mean?
Geared, skilled, consistent, prepared.
Geared: If you're not rocking ICC 10/25 gear, don't bother applying. If you have no clue how to properly enchant and gem your character, don't bother applying. If your talent and glyph choices look like something a 2 year old would randomly choose, don't bother applying.
If you're geared and actually know how to allocate your stats properly, we'd love to have you apply.
Skilled: If you're an S-key All-Star, don't bother applying. If you cannot pay attention to your surroundings while hitting your action bars or looking at your unit frames, don't bother applying.
However, if you have mastered the art of moving without backpedaling and you actually have some situational awareness, congratulations! You are officially better than 98% of the people who play World of Warcraft, and we'd love to have you apply.
Consistent: If you cannot make 80-90% of our raids, don't bother applying. If you live at home with mommy and can't control being yanked away from the computer every other night, don't bother applying. If your college roommate has a porn addiction which causes your connection to choke during raid times, don't bother applying. If your computer chugs down to 2 frames a second on Blood Queen or Sindragosa, don't bother applying.
But hey, if you can actually make our raids, stay online, not lag, and we don't have to wait on your AFKness every other pull, we'd love to have you apply.
Prepared: If you can't supply yourself with flasks/elixirs and a food buff, don't bother applying. If you can't supply yourself with potions or are too lazy to pre-pot on some encounters, don't bother applying. If you are incapable of reading our forums when we post strategies, boss videos, and data mined abilities, don't bother applying.
If you can read our forums, contribute to said forums, and come prepared with consumables to our raids, we'd love to have you apply.
And yes, we are a rather blunt group of individuals. We know what we want, and more importantly we know what we don't want in our members.
I'd consider myself an exceptional player and I'm interested in joining. How do I apply?
That makes me happy in the pants.
To apply, visit our website at Decidedly Uncouth. More specifically, click on the 'Apply' button in the menu, or click on the following link. Decidedly Uncouth - Announcements in Forum : Applications. You will have to register an account and fill out our application form. All applications are private, only Decidedly Uncouth members can view your application.
Once you submit your application, you can expect a response within 24-36 hours. One of our Core members will review your app, ask you some questions, and assuming everything is good get you on Vent for a voice interview. If everything pans out, you will be tagged as a Trial member. What does Trial mean exactly? It's a probationary rank where we evaluate your skill and consistency. You will be judged against our current members performance, and you will be expected to keep pace as your gear level allows. During your trial, you are still eligible for loot and you still accrue EP in our EPGP system. After 2-4 weeks, assuming everything goes well, you'll be promoted to Member status.
I need more information. Where do I get it?
There are two ways to get more information. You can contact one of our members in game, or you can send a private message on our forums to Argo or Osiris.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. We look forward to your application.
