Loot will be officer's decision. Which means at the beginning, before we get a feel for everyone in the raids, most things will simply be free-rolled, but as people get loot we'll move more towards a strictly officer's decision loot system. We will base our loot assignment on attendance, performance, and who needs the upgrade more.
I will be implementing a benchmarking system to challenge raiders and raise their level of play. The way the benchmarking system will work is you will be compared to a certain rank for your class/spec on world of logs (for instance, 200) - and we will ask you to hit within 85% of that person's score (DPS or HPS - granted, HPS is more situational and the benchmarks for healers will be more for me knowing when we can have an extra person switch to DPS to help make the fight go faster). So, if the #200 fire mage is doing 11k DPS on Marrowgar, and I do 12k, I'd be at 109% of benchmark - which is good. If I were to do 9k and the #200 is 11k, I would be at 82% and would need to work on improving in order to hit that 85% (whether it's changing gems, enchants, spec, swapping out trinkets, focusing more during the encounter, learning the encounter a bit better, or just plain getting more gear). The purpose of the benchmarking tool is not to criticize you for being bad, but more to challenge you to be better and let you know when there is room for you to improve.
