Hit and Expertise are threat stats and you should stay away from them, and reforge them if you can't.
With a correct rotation you should not have threat problem if you are not outragly outgeared by your DPS.

You very seldom have to chose between Mastery and Stamina. I go for Mastery in these cases, but we are splitting hair here.
The majority opinion is that that for secondary stat you should go for Mastery on every item then Parry/Dodge.

Crit gives you nothing.
Haste, not much.
Stay away from those two.

On this subject, is there a modelisation of the survavibility brought by Haste (by the way of more Death Strike) assuming we go full Mastery and 391 BIS ?
I am curious to see if it could be viable at some point with Dodge/Parry plagued by diminishing returns or if we can forget about it once and for all.

thanks for your answer, but how much mastery do i need? its not a problem to hit 100% even if i will reforge all secondary stat to parry/dodge.

Personally I choose to go for about 500% mastery. After that or if I cant stack it anymore I go for a balance of Dodge/Parry (sans Swordshattering).

If I see a fight requires more HP I usually swap out trinkets first from Mastery to Stamina and then my weapon enchant from Swordshattering to Stoneskin Gargoyle. If I still need more HP then it is usually fairly safe to say that I am doing something wrong.

And i also loaded several DK in rawr and someone have hit capped but other have no hit at all but have mastery maxed...
I've been trying to set up rawr as well and I'm uncertain what settings to optimize for. For those who use rawr, is it "Burst" that I optimize for so that my mastery is favored for DS?

What tools are currently available to calculate stat weights for Frost and Unholy DPS, since Kahorie' has been abandoned?

Here's what you need to know about TankDK in Rawr. The boss options are huge in determining what would provide you the best gearing. You should be specifying what boss(es) you'll be using to primarily work against. Some will find avoidance preferences, others will lean towards burst. Also, you can tweak the weights to match closer to what you need. The weights I've setup are good baselines but not everyone plays the same way. It doesn't help to over-do any particular thing. Rawr isn't wrong when it suggests Avoidance. You will get the biggest bang for your gear itemization when it provides a given optimization.

EG... if you are slightly under geared for the content, it will recommend Stam until you reach the soft-cap which is default set to 3.5 hits. If there's mostly physical damage in a fight, avoidance will provide the best damage reduction. If the fight is bursty, you should see preferences to mastery.

hello,

2H is done in Unholy Presence almost entirely to take advantage of the extra RP from Might of the Frozen Wastes that would go wasted in Frost Presence due to being so close to GCD capped. The extra haste and run speed don’t hurt either.
I have 74% haste (1814 haste rating) and I notice I can do a lot more dps in Frost presence than in unholy presence. I reforge excess crit into hit/exp. At what breakpoint do I get to see UP to be more DPS than FP? I still DPS in UP for bosses just for the extra runspeed, but I don't know if I should given that I get roughly 5-10% more DPS by switching to FP.

Does the pestilence bug where it increases damage (I think of your blood plague) by 20%, still work in 4.2?

For dps dks, just curious but is it worth breaking ilvl 372 t11 4pc bonus for ilvl 378 2pc t12 bonus? Or wait for 4pc t12 bonus?

Quick question about unholy frenzy usage.

I remeber a few months back it was considered to be a raid dps gain to cast it on a fury warrior instead of yourself. This was thanks to the unshackled fury mastery almost doubling the effect, with fury focusing on mastery at the time.

Currentlly their base mastery is lower, and they look to mastery as one of their lowest priority stats (as well as haste). Am I correct in the belief that it is no longer a raid dps gain to cast it on a a fury warrior instead of yourself? If so is it a raid dps gain to cast it on any other raid member?

If SimC is anything to go by, using it on a rogue, enhancement shaman, DW DK, or MM hunter will give a good increase. This seems especially true of Sub rogues since they'll heal the damage just fine.

That seems really off considering that haste is the worst stat for enhancement at the moment. I find it very hard to believe it would be more beneficial on a shaman then the unholy dk himself (haste is unholy's best stat). How are you comparing the dps gains?

I believe TG Fury is still the way to go. SMF Fury doesn't benefit as much, although the rage gains are still amazing according to a friend of mine.

I was using RAWR heavily for my FrostDW, the Problem i am facing is that it tells me to do certain things i can not believe totally (since the 4.2 Guide tells me otherwise):
- Use my higher DPS Weapon in Offhand and enchant with Rune of Razorice (meaning i have 2x Razorice)
- Telling me to go heavy into Unholy showing a SICK dps boost i mean i can understand it but i was baffled (and he tells me to NOT spec Ebon Gargoyle which i kinda do not get)
- If i try to change an item in Rawr i get an XML error, i didn't find anything in the RAWR codeplex page (and tried to redownload rawr and use it in the browser)
- No Killing Machine Procs are shown in my "Rotation"
- i looked up the version of DPSDK Module and it was the latest?
- I have _no_ idea how i can tag items availible as it was possible earlier (with this green diamond)

Alright thanks in advance

Your issues should be posted on the Rawr forums or Rawr Issue Tracker since this is the Simple Q & A thread, but I'll address some of these points. Some of these are legitimate defects that should be (or already are written up) in the Issue Tracker.
- Use my higher DPS Weapon in Offhand and enchant with Rune of Razorice (meaning i have 2x Razorice)
Razorice stacking is already written up: Rawr - rawr - View Issue #21131: [DPSDK] Razorice stacking
- Telling me to go heavy into Unholy showing a SICK dps boost i mean i can understand it but i was baffled (and he tells me to NOT spec Ebon Gargoyle which i kinda do not get)
Ebon Gargoyle? Heavy in Unholy meaning 0/31/10? I would need to see your character XML - please write up a defect in the issue tracker describing the exact nature of the problem.
- If i try to change an item in Rawr i get an XML error, i didn't find anything in the RAWR codeplex page (and tried to redownload rawr and use it in the browser)
There are already a couple issues related to this in the issue tracker. If you don't see one that matches the description of your problem, please write up a defect. Rawr - Issue Tracker
- No Killing Machine Procs are shown in my "Rotation"
Killing machine affects crit chance. Since I don't point out specific crits in the rotation report, why would I point out KM? Rest assured that Oblit & FS crit chance is affected by KM talent.
- I have _no_ idea how i can tag items availible as it was possible earlier (with this green diamond)
This hasn't changed. Click on the diamond next to the item on the right hand pane to toggle that you want that item marked available (green diamond). Shift-click will toggle the blue-diamond which locks in a specific gem/enchant/etc.
