I believe it was stated that bug has been fixed for awhile now in an earlier page/post

Howling Blast has unfortunately always had this issue. It simply does nothing against anything that can't be hit by AE, totems are the easiest to see example.

Here is this week's Ultraxion log using my rotation without Plague Strike, as well as the rest of our kills. We had a few attempts on Madness but I had DC'd during a wipe on Spine and forgot to turn the log back on and only got the last attempt.

Do you have any logs of running that build while making sure Blood Plague is up before your OB's?
Comparing your Log to mine from this week's raid, there's a very large difference.

My final number was 36591.9.

Not yet, I'll try out the typical rotation with Blood Plague active on next week's kill.

However, you do have significantly better gear than I do with almost 2% more haste and 650 more strength. And you're doing 25 man vs my 10 man raids where we don't have every potential DPS buff available. On Ultraxion LFR, I was able to pull 32k. Also, I got targeted with Fading Light twice during our 10 man Ultraxion. So I could pull more if it was once or none. But I'll be sure to post logs from LFR tonight or tomorrow and from next week's Ultraxion kill with keeping Blood Plague active.

The big question is whether the gain for the extra rune is significant enough to make up for the DPS loss for the damage on OB. using the IBT Build, in my honest thoughts and findings, I feel it's better to keep BP up. I'll go into a LFR this week and run my logs, however I've been able to average roughly 34-35k in LFR. I'll keep a log of it next time and let you know.

So playing around in the simulator with very short fight duration times, to try and see what statweights to use during tendons on spine, I consistently get results that show both mastery and crit rating are significantly better than haste. Mastery doesn't surprise me but crit does a little bit. Do other people get similar results?

World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis

Logs running Masterfrost like Kresch has put out w/o reapplying PS expect through outbreak.

I had 2 or 3 twilights put on me as well

It looks like all of your recent logs are roughly withing the same percentile, is this something you've experimented with before?
By the looks of that most recent log, even with the twilights on you, the number is impressive.

To be honest while this whole discussion whether to PS or not is very interesting, linking Ultraxion logs sadly doesn't really prove anything besides the fact that it is viable, considering everyone's gear, runic empowerment RNG, buffs and obviously twilights.

Simcraft says that not using plague strike is about a 300dps loss (in BiS T13 gear, Masterfrost prio).

It's entirely up to the person/fight in question if you think the ease of not pushing the button outweighs keeping it up.

My own view is that pressing plague strike every minute or so for a 300dps boost is well worth it and far from difficult.

I was thinking that is [Glyph of Icy Touch] viable in Masterfrost specc for Spine heroic since huge portion of my dps is Frost Fever?

Yes, any fight where your damage breakdown consistently has Frost Fever doing more damage than Obliterate would benefit from Icy Touch glyph.

That said, it will lower your damage to Tendons and cause more unplanned deaths of Bloods. The blood dps might be insanely good for your meters but when people are low an extra accidental blood death can be the difference between a kill and a wipe.

I have noticed recently that refreshing Blood Plague will add on the time remaining to the text tick onto the new Blood Plague's duration, which effectively means you can clip the final three seconds of Blood Plague without any loss. I don't know if this will have any significance in the choice between 2/2 Butchery-2/3 Epidemic versus 1/2 Butchery-3/3 Epidemic for Epidemic builds.

(As an example, using Plague Strike when your current Blood Plague has 2 seconds left, the new Blood Plague will have a 35 second duration and will have it's first tick at 33 seconds. (Assuming 3/3 Epidemic))
