Should I base trinket selection on the list from the Winter of Discontent then? It seems to make sense just looking at str bonuses and it is on the EJ site... or is there another way to compare trinkets?

The thread's list is okay-ish, but personally I'd just use SimC.

Though if you're only worrying about the trinkets from DS for single target it's:

Eye >> Creche >= BLF

and for multi-target it's

Eye > BLF >> Creche

This has probably been asked again and again but just want a straight forward answer.

Ever since rolling a DK everyone says frost rules dps while unholy is closely behind. But everytime i run stuff whether im tanking or dpsing on my DK the top dks are always Unholy. There is the rare chance that a frost dk is at top but he seems to always have insane gear. For equal gear lvls in frost really better. I do a ton more dps as unholy as i do frost with a 378 weapon where as frost i have dual Souldrinkers (390)and still do less dps than i do as unholy. Thanks in advance for your response's!

That was true last tier. This tier, for pure single target DPS, Unholy > Frost, especially with Gurthalak, though I believe it's true even before that.

Hi all. I'm a little stuck with Rawr. I'm not sure which of the calculations to pick when optimizing for blood. Overall? Mitigation? Survivability?

Which of those am I supposed to select when optimizing?

Well, with my current gear after reforging I'm at 2658 haste, should I get more crit instead of so much haste ?

I'd just unreforge the Rotting Skull and find a way to replace it. It would put you down to ~2500 haste, which is a bit much for Madness and Ultraxion, but good for the rest of the fights.

New with a question

I have been checking things here out for a while now and appreciate a place that i can get Unholy DK info from. This is my first post so hopefully this isnt entirely a stupid question. I currently have 4pc T13(non-heroic),Visage Helm and Regular Gurthalak. My question regards the stat of Mastery being more important than Crit with this setup, seems like live hit a cap as i cannot get over 2373 haste. Is this something i should worry about or is it just the limitations of the current gear I have? I think my DPS isnt bad but if there is room for improvement i am open for suggestions.

Does the +3rp/5 from the 2 pc T12 persist even if u switch out the gear after you buff horn?

Basically I want to know if it would be worth it to go back and get the 2pc so i can prebuff it before a pull

The buff does not stay, however the RP gained from it stays, so you can use it to get your pet to 5 stacks and a full RP bar before the pull by spamming DnD and Horn.

Context: Solo tanking heroic Ragnaros as Blood.

Given how much magic damage is being taken due to high stacks of Burning Wound, is Spellshattering a viable alternative to Swordshattering at all? I've looked over numerous WoL parses and results are inconclusive, although incoming damage does seem slightly skewed towards physical.

Butchery vs. bladed armor

I've searched around forums and guides all across the nets and I can't find a conclusive argument to support choosing blades armor over butchery for blood tanking. It seems to be the preferred talent choice in many raiding builds, including here at ej, but I fail to understand how a few hundred extra ap can be preferred over free rp for rs to refresh runes. I understand the increase in heals for lichborne macro spamming, but that just seems to be too situational, being on a 3 min cd and requiring at least a portion of rp pooling to maximize effectiveness, when compared to a flat increase in to generation given by butchery, along with freeing up a talent to pick up a bit more utility somewhere else in the tree. If there is a mechanic I'm not aware of or if I'm not understanding the properly I would love some insight, and if not I just have to wonder, what's so great about bladed armor for blood tanking?

[Unholy] Is it ever a DPS gain to Death Coil your ghoul instead of the boss? (With [Glyph of Death's Embrace] it effectively only costs 14 RP instead of 34, if the ghoul is not at full health, so we can bring on the next Dark Transformation much faster. Obviously I am talking about situations where the ghoul has taken damage for whatever reason.

The only fight where I would target the ghoul instead of the boss is during the ice/lightning phases for Hagara. You kepe the ghoul stacked up with shadow infusion as well as keeping him healed, and then as soon as she gets feedback, you can pop him big and go nuts, but outside of that, DC the boss, its just lost damage for the GCDs spent healing your ghoul that could have been used for damage otherwise.
