I noticed both unholy blight and plague leech were in that priority list, does that modify the DPS any? usually people list it as one or the other.

It will only use said abilities if one is specced into them; otherwise, it just skips to the next line. This just saves sharing two different lists for different specs.

Hello,
First of all, thank you for the amazing guide; it has saved me a ton of time and thought.
What I would like to ask is, I have this problem where Killing Machine procs about the same time that I am pressing Frost Strike and instantly absorbs the proc; this is a quite crazy DPs loss as 2H frost. How are you guys going around this? Is there a remedy, or, could I be doing something wrong?

Personally what I did was use a swing timer addon, a buddy of mine made a weak aura, that shows your swing timer and just go off of that. Since KM procs about ~.4 secs after you swing, depending upon speed of course, I just adjusted fire in between then on using FS in order to maximize OB KMs.

Has anyone tried that latency option? So maybe you could tap 2 or 3 times and the game only use your first tap? Sometimes I notice how sensible this is, just a 0.Xs before and you lose it.
I will try use quartz swing time from now and see how does it works.

For dual wielding
With RE the more haste we had the more reliable was our resources generation which made haste really attractive and at times (depending on gear) better that mastery.
With the blood tap priority and resources generation being more predictable and reliable, couldn't there be a kind of haste cap ? Not really a cap but a level of haste where your enough comfortable with resources generation to focus on crit instead.
Maybe am I doing something wrong but when I sim (simcraft build 505-4) stat weight with the bis profile available here ( Simulationcraft Results 505-5 (r14518)), haste seems rather low compared to mastery and crit.
Strenght (3.66) > Expertise (3.61) > Hit (2.95) > Mastery (1.70) > Crit (1.40) > Haste (1.02)
In addition the % of time waiting is 0.39 % which indicates that this priority with 4338 haste is absolutely not resource starved and could rather be at times gcd cap.
In the same time when I sim with my current gear and this priority, and plays with reforge on only 3 slots ( maxing mastery in one case and haste the over ), it has a great impact on haste’s weight.
With 5505 mastery, 3090 haste, 2146 crit :
Strenght (3.35) > Expertise (2.21) > Hit (2.01) > Haste (1.44) > Mastery (1.22) > Crit (1.04)

So this tells me that between 3100 and 4000 there is a kind of threshold where haste becomes less attractive with my current gear, but I suppose that it will be similar with the bis gear.
I am not able to plot anything on my pc to go further, graphs are not displaying (don’t know why) and I am not that comfortable with simcraft.
Does anyone else have noted something similar ? Or I have miss something.

In practice that would indeed save you a GCD. However this shouldn't make a difference in simcraft should it? Because Ghoul is on the GCD and PoF is off the GCD PoF can still be cast during the GCD of the ghoul. So one update through the action list it should cast Ghoul, then the next loop through the actions it would cast PoF, with (1s-looptime) of GCD still going on. Unless there's some reason it wouldn't cast an ability off the GCD when a GCD is going on that I don't know of.

Regarding 2H frost. Blood Tap or Runic Empowerment?
I ran two simulations today on my Death Knight, with the only thing changing between them being Blood Tap and Runic Empowerment. The OP's post suggests that the best current sim option is Runic Empowerment, but I got different results.Using my gear and the default rotation of simcraft (which I assume is fine for 2H DK's) I got these:
Blood Tap spec: 76723 dps
Runic Empowerment spec: 74847 dps
Now, I am not 100% sure if I overlooked something important, but I hope I did not. Can anyone else confirm this theory or point out any mistakes?
Here is the simulation I used, with the only difference being the talents of course. :

It's not a dps gain because of a GCD loss, it's a dps gain because it lets you use an extra damaging ability during PoF. Summoning the ghoul itself does zero damage, so doing it during PoF instead of an ability that does do damage is a dps loss.

Thanks to my guild mate Xinou for pointing out the far more logical PL placement and trigger.

I made a few changes and additions to your priority. I put raise dead above pillar as xbit pointed out, added death and decay above horn of winter and added plague leech at the very bottom and ended up with 121869 dps.

DnD above horn is an increase for the same reason why horn is placed above FS. The situation you would DnD in would be when you have just an unholy rune active with no blood charges to BT, no KM (or not enough RP to FS with it) and RP under 76. Adding DnD didn't affect dps much, but adding PL at the very bottom when you have absolutely nothing left to do was a noticeable increase.
We were thinking about BT and death runes and the meaning behind the condition to HB if D=2 at #Acherus. It was meant to be "HB if perma death runes capped", but with BT turning every generated rune into death, it loses its meaning. I tried replacing "death" with "blood" as Haakkon suggested and lost dps. Although that condition shouldn't make a difference in the first place after DnD was removed from the priority above OB, but I lost dps as I tried simplifying it to OB if U runes and HB otherwise so I left it as is. I also played around with FS if RP>76 since going above is not an issue if you're not going to OB afterwards, but didn't manage to get it sim higher either.

Sorry I guess I didn't really make my case clear. I get that you're losing 1 second of PoF time to ghouls GCD. What I meant was given the priority list Pillar of Frost will be cast immediately after Ghoul, still losing most of it's GCD to it. Say the real world situation is this:
Real life (aka what we want)
0.00s Ghoul
1.00s Pillar of Frost + Ability
21.00s Pillar of Frost falls off.
Simcraft (using 0.01s as 1 iteration through priority list):
0.00s Ghoul
0.01s Pillar of Frost
1.00s Ability
20.01s Pillar of Frost
It does look like the switch gives a small gain in simcraft, so maybe everything lines up so perfectly the 0.01s is all you need.
Anyway in the long run what I'm saying is Pillar of Frost should have a if=(gcd=0) condition, but honestly it's more to just make it match the intended real life usage.

By default, the sim will wait for the GCD of raise dead to complete before moving on to pillar of frost. This can be overridden with use_off_gcd=1 on the action line, but the intended behavior here was to wait until the GCD was over and then cast pillar at the start of the next GCD for an actual damaging ability. If you have pillar of frost macroed into raise dead in game then you'd want to add use_off_gcd=1 to simulate what's occurring for you.

I did a few runs with a significantly easier rotation, basically scrapping DnD and using OB and HB (in that order) whenever I had the runes for it (not even bothering to look for unholy runes to cast OB). This rotation means you don't have to watch your runes at all. It ended up at 121523 dps, a loss of less than 0.3%. Even though the more complex rotation sims higher I'd say that not having to watch your runes at all in a raid encounter would at least increase my performance more than that.
I know this is a theorycrafting discussion, but I think it's worth pointing out.
Here is the rotation I used if someone is interested (using PL and BT):

I wouldn't say it's significantly easier, if easier at all. Playing DW BT is basically hitting OB whenever you have an unholy rune up and howling blasting otherwise. What you're doing just leads to easily overwritten Rime procs because of back-to-back obliterates and heavily diminished cleaving potential when moving from HB to OB damage.

Also, if you don't like to watch runes you can use an addon to provide you with a HUD alert to tell you when to cast OB (or PS, if needed). It's not like it's hard to make one of your own, but here's the string for the Weak Auras alert I use. It just puts up a display if I'm in combat, in an instance, and have 1 or more unholy runes activated.
