No, I wasn't expecting some wonder spec that would make me instantly put out 4k TPS. I was asking which talents (avaliable to an unholy tank) would improve my single target TPS. I realize I need to work on my gear but in the meanwhile, I can adjust my spec to the best it can do. I'm sorry if that was unclear. I already used the search function but didn't come up with anything. Thanks for the bluetracker link - I'll check it out.
Basically an Unholy dps build, (sans the pet talents), with some tank talents. You don't need Lichborne as much as you need threat, and you can put all of the points in Frost into DPS talents. (This is just so you can maximize threat.)
Pets do not contribute to TPS at all. Until you are geared up drop the pet talents. I see no problem losing Shadow of Death because it sounds like your friends out-gear the heroics and the extra stamina won't count for much.
Remember UB and DnD are good for single target threat as well as AE threat.

Talent you have take that do not add TPS :
Summon Gargoyle
Master of goul
On a pale horse
Icy reach
Put the freed point into very valuable talent like Bladed Armor
If you wish a sample of a threat oriented Unholy spec, you could check my armory.
I'm a bit curious over some of the choices - isn't Two-Handed Weapon Specialization worth it for single-target tanking, increasing BS and PS? Rather than a talent like Dark Conviction or Necrosis (considering I RS most of my autoattacks already). Also Ravenous Dead, with all the strength on tanking gear currently. I'd rather not remove all of my defensive talents as I'm still undergeared for heroics, so I'll probably go for something in between.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I'll go read those other threads now.
Concerning Ravenous dead, unbuff I have 880 strength. Let's say full buff I get 1100 strength. Each point in Ravenous dead could give me 11 strength, so about 24 AP and 2 parry rating.
So I don't believe it worth it on a tanking build.
i am a 25 man raiding blood spec dk 51/14/6 usually in top 2 on meters every night however, i keep seeing that ArP is a nice benefit to blood dks and as i am always looking for new ways to improve my dps i cannot seem to find an 80 cap for ArP, solid numbers or anything else on the matter other then the brief words of the compendium listed here on ej.
If anyone has something that would help me find the answer that would be great. Also i would liek to fiund a good workup or spread sheet for dk's , used to use on for my hance shaman where you would add the stats and it would calc everything and such and does anyone know of a site similar to maxdps which supports dks on their list also?

Does anybody have a solid model for how much DPS your ghoul does given ideal conditions (Patchwerk) based on your AP? Including raid buffs if it is a perma ghoul.
Simple yes or no question: do our Blood and Unholy presences still have the .8 threat aura modifier attached to them? Wowhead still lists it as there, but some of the information there is often not updated for a while.
As a follow-up, would Subversion be multiplicative or additive with that passive effect?

Yes, both presences still have the passive threat reduction built in. As with all other percent-based effects in the game, they stack multiplicatively, for a total of 40% threat reduction.
Has anyone been able to isolate why Shadow of Death only works part of the time?
Most of the time it doesn't work for me, is when I get take loads of damage, like fall damage from 100% to 0%, or 30 hordes wailing on me in wintergrasp, or the tank on patchwerk dying and hitting me instead.
The weird part is I'll sometimes be a ghoul in ghostform :\.

This happens to me alot also during battlegrounds. I get rez'd as a ghoul all the time.
For an unholy DK, the DPS compendium rotation states that you should cast DC only at the final bit of your rotation, does that mean that casting death coil anywhere before that place in that rotation (assuming no misses/problems executing the rotation) will result in a dps loss? Even if it results in additional runic power being generated (as a result of less time spent being at 100 RP)?

It was never intended that you waste RP by using a rune while already capped.
My off tank is feeling a little lost of what gear to shoot for next, Sorrowfiend
There has been a couple times where he has passed on some drops b/c it will put him below the cap limit. Any suggestions of what he should be shooting for as far as focusing on improving his off tanking stats?
There shouldn't be any limit on its proccing outside of the rate your diseases tick and your melee crit chance.
There is an ICD, I believe on beta it was tested around 1s. To prevent massive burst of damage when you have 2 diseases on a lot of mobs at the same time.
