Nothing amazing really but I feel it has the information I need to see. I changed it last night so I still haven't finalized it, some things like the Recount box i'll probably move. Grid is in the bottom-right but not visible in the screenshot. (and yes I haven't done the keybindings for everything yet :p)

Sympa UI v 4

This is the fourth version of my UI now completely customized for my DK. It is similar to the UI I previously posted with some improvements. Threat is not an issue as much anymore so I have omen set to invisible however Its still there and can be toggled on for anyone needing it. Also briefly, there was a comment made by someone who had used my UI before and their only complaint was that by displaying information in a single vertical column it added a blind spot. With this revision of the UI I have attempted to circumvent the issue.

The main staples of the UI are on the right, player/pet frames grouped right under abilities. Target and ToT frames directly below that. The most important part of the UI is magicrunes and classtimer. I played with need to know as an alternative to classtimer but did not like the limitations imposed by not being able to customize it. The main "thing" I've noticed throughout all the UI's is the need to quickly see runes and buffs/debuffs. What I would like to see more of is discussion about why players are keeping these two really important elements so far apart from one another in most of the UI's posted.

I have made this UI available for download here.
SympaUIv4.zip - FileFront.com

My original UI and new DK UI are discussed and can be seen in my blog linked below in my sig.

I find it working way better because you constantly know the state of your other runes as well.

The bone armor thing is really annoying indeed, it seems it does not use the skill cooldown unless you have runes up to use it and spam it a few times.
The author of omnicc said that it was a bug on blizzard side. The function that give the remaining cooldown for a spell don't work well with DK. Hopefully it s fixed in the PTR, but I can't log.

Heres is my ui, its clean, its fast (only consumes 6mb of ram total) and most of all I get all the information I need (My health, mob health, rune CDs, diseases CDs etc etc) centered so I don't have to take my eyes off of the target.

Don't you worry though that this sort of approach will lead to tunnel vision?

Depends on people, my UI is all centered too, which leaves the rest of my screen free so I can see better what's going on around me. On the contrary, if I cluster the sides with info, I won't be able to notice something there(unless I'm actually looking at it at the time) mostly because the movements are merged with the usual UI "noise" in that area. Was a bit reluctant to post yet another UI, but to explain what I mean this is my UI currently:

The right side is a bit of a "blind" side due to recount on that screen, but I usually turn it off, leaving most of the screen rather empty to see what I need to see(running mobs mostly), and everything important is focused in the hud area, or just under it.

As an example, I would never consider using the UI you posted earlier because there's way too much clutter directly to the right of your character, but again, matter of taste.

There's also some innefficient stuff, like pet bar, I usually don't spec for master of ghouls since I'm a tank, so well when I do have it looks ugly.

Not really, as Pyros said I actually see whats going on around me better since I don't have mods obstructing my view.

I always like to commend those who have such clean and impressive UIs.

So, kudos to all of you x]

I wish I could run the addons like you all to make mine look nicer, but my current laptop can only do so much. Maybe somewhere down the road when I get a newer and better laptop.

But, as for me, the addons I run that fit me just fine are:

xPerl
Runewatch
Recount
Cartographer
Questhelper (although, it has been bugging out on me lately, so I may look to getting Carbonite)
and Titan Panel

After playing around for ages to find the best setup, I'm going with this. I want everything as close together as possible, while still clearly distinguishing player/target frames (I can't stand having them on top of each other as some people do) and still looking aesthetically pleasing.

The rune watcher is artRunes, taken from these forums, and I love it a lot once I got used to clicking my hide blizzard rune frame macro every time I logged on. Disease timers are NeedtoKnow, and there's another bar on top of FF that would show Bone Shield if it was up. I don't have a number displaying how much runic power I have currently but I've not found a need for it for tanking. If I were to put it on it'd probably go to the left on my health bar.

This is my UI at the moment. (click to enlarge)
The idea is to reduce as much noise as possible without losing anything critical. A minimalist style if you will. I've used this UI for tanking Naxx(H), Archavon(H), Malygos(H) and Sartharion(H) with 3 drakes, as well as in DPS role in all the raids.

On left I have BigWigs progress bars.
On top left I have simpleMinimap and next to it ORA2 tank frames.
On top center I have raid warnings from BigWigs.
On top right I have ElkBuffbars with Auras disabled.
On bottom right I have Omen with custom coloring.

From the player frame I have SCT scrolling down showing heals.
From the target frame I have SCTD scrolling up showing my damage.
On top of the target frame I have ClassTimers showing my disease duration.

List of addons:
  • ag_UnitFrames
  • BadBoy
  • Bartender4
  • BigWigs
  • ClassTimer
  • ClearFont2
  • ClearFont2_FontPack
  • CooldownCount

I did a lot of work on my own UI this weekend.. Started out with Metz's Shaman UI and modified from there. The final result has similar UFs and placement but certainly a good bit different.

I'm still undecided as to how I want to handle raid/party frames with it so I have both PitBull party frames showing and a Grid setup.

After trying a few different setups, I definitely prefer this location for frames.

What I've tried to do here is minimize the screen space my UI takes up. I used Magic Runes because I can compact the display and keep it separate from my Unit frame (which is on the default UI.) I also set MSBT up to show procs and effects such as RS coming up and SD procs right in the center of the screen. I also found a cooldown timer very useful, along with KnowItAll, which is a great debuff timer. It's very cmpact and saves space compared to other addons, in my opinion. On this UI, Omen goes directly above the minimap, right beside the disease timer. Note: This is the UI I used while leveling.

My UI

Unitframes are Pitbull, nice and simple.
The Rune display is Simple Rune. I've never used anything else, it's really easy to see what runes you have up.
Actionbars are BT4 with BF (Caith). I know I need to clean them and my keybinds up, but I am working on it.
The swing timer between the Unitframes belongs to Quartz, and just below it is a castbar that I don't really need but keep anyway because I'm used to it from my previous toons.
The disease bars on top of the target Unitframe also belong to Quartz. I believe they are called target buff bars, and they are extremely useful and easy to configure; there really is no need for Classtimers.
The text 'Rune Strike' is a custom event in SCT, and the green healing text coming out of the player frame is SCT also.
I use Elk Buff Bars.

After both reading this thread and thinking about my own needs, I came up with a heavy PowerAuras usage setup:

- Purple ring is Boneshield, it turns whiter as charges expire.
- Redish swords below is Blade Barrier, not as useful now, but made sure I spent my blood runes when I started tanking.
- Snowflake is IBF
- Yellow sign shows up when I either don't have HoW or SoE and I'm in combat.
- Green swords on top are for Cinderglacier/Fallen Crusader procs (PvP/DPS mainly)
- Teal shield on top is for avoidance trinkets/Lichborne.

Diseases and Unholy Blight are handled with NeedToKnow just below my runes, this is to have best possible disease uptime while making use of the SS glyph. Unholy Blight bugs a lot with NTK though and I don't really know why, many times the bar just dissapears when I refresh it which is weird.

I know ag_uf rune display is pretty terrible, but I haven't found a rune addon I like and have growned used to it. The thing that irks me, although I'm not sure if this is addon related, is that sometimes blood runes display as if they are death, but they are actually blood, and it messes up my rotation for a couple seconds until I realize it.

It's all about functionality. A pretty UI doesn't help me and I'm the only one seeing it.
It includes the standard stuff. MagicRunes and Elk's for the buff-/debuffbars.
I've tried other setups, but there weren't efficient.
