Because the recipe for that cut is not currently in the game.

Svala's Bloodied Shackles should be added to the list. Drops in reg UP and is easily farmable.

Would also add Gauntlets of the Water Revenant to the hands list. Drops in heroic VH so easy to obtain as well.

Very easily farmable. I 2-boxed it as a Frost tank/Resto shaman. Fourth time was the charm. Whenever the tank gets summoned, just heal through it. Healer being summoned just requires AoE spam to break him free, and maybe a quick instant heal if you fail to break it - on a 15k hp healer it was not an issue, as long as both chars are topped off.

the Blood Caked Stompers from the Argent Tournament are now deserving of a good spot on this list, clocking in at 29812.05 rating based on your ranking. Since they're a +34 defense item while also packing dodge and stamina, this makes them worse than the Wyrmrest boots if you're seriously needing more defense to become uncrittable. Once you are comfortably defense 'capped', however, these have better avoidance etc. and are pathetically easy to get considering they are ten champion seals and you can start tournament questing at 77.

While probably a bit outdated, this listing is much more useful than trying to get WoWhead to filter items you want every time you're looking for a pre-raid upgrade to what you have! The other AT pickings are kind of odd-ball, but I'll scrounge once I have better access at home and try to compile any useful values for this list.

This is not the signature you're looking for. You are free to move along.

I am currently leveling a frost tank and am close to hitting 80. I have a question about using [Sigil of the Unfaltering Knight]. Is it worth getting this Sigil when i will not be using Icy Touch in my rotation that much because of the new Howling Blast glyph? Or should i spend my Emblems on something else?
Also i am wondering if i should use Icy touch on a Boss fight instead of Howling Blast? I know Howling Blast takes the extra rune but would using Icy Touch be a loss in TPS?

This was a reply i post in another thread but i got no answer on it, so i am wondering for this pre-raid gear list is it worth getting any more? for a frost tank anyway.

IMHO:
The Sigil gives you a +Def buff that lasts 30 secs. I'd say drop IT to open, and once every 30 sec thereafter won't hurt your overall TPS very much. You could still keep HB in your rotation otherwise. The def is a nice way to round out your so you can gem/gear for other things until a Raid-level sigil drops as you progress. Those other choices will help balance out your TPS and/or Avoidance and should make up for the difference.

If you use Blood Tap as you begin you can keep a steady HB > OB > IT > BS through most of the fight, replacing one of your blood strikes with icy touch. If you get rime procs use it whenever you have a gap and replace the HB in the rotation with another OB until it comes round again.

Clocks in at 5941.62 stat weight according to OP, putting it above non-epics except for Woeful Band, so it probably could use a spot. Shield block may be bad itemization, but it's 30 defense and better than most ilvl 187s

While it's only level 68, [Adamantine Figurine] is a great starting trinket because of the defense (which is sometimes hard to find on trinkets) and the ease of getting it, and the proc is not bad, either. It's obtained from Blackheart in Normal or Heroic Shadow Labyrinth, who is easily soloable with an 80 Death Knight (just be sure to clear his room first).

Jewelcrafting also gives you access to [Figurine - Ruby Hare], that's two stamina trinkets right off the bat for what will continue to be the best profession for tanks even after the nerf (though only slightly). Also realistically i would recommend [Heavy Borean Armor Kit] over most of the non-defense rating enchants, depending on how soon you will upgrade the items.

PvP is a great way to get stamina/armor upgrades and reach crit immune. In particular:
- The 2 piece bonus of [Hateful Gladiator's Dreadplate Chestpiece] (+50 resilience)
- [Greater Inscription of the Gladiator] which is still used by many endgame tanks for 10k honor points.
- [Furious Gladiator's Greatsword] one of the best tanking weapons in the game, and worth playing 10 games a week for. With the new arena rating system 1850 rating is also very easy to obtain.

The Argent Tournament dailies also give very good tanking upgrades, in particular:
- [Claymore of the Prophet]/[Greatsword of the Sin'dorei]: cost = 25 [Champion's Seal]
- [Blood-Caked Stompers]: cost = 10 [Champion's Seal]

[Argent Skeleton Crusher] is also a reasonable weapon and worth picking up from the reputation vendor once you finish grinding Crusade for [Arcanum of the Stalwart Protector].

This is missing IMO: [Gauntlets of the Water Revenant] (from Ichoron, VH heroic) + [Formula: Enchant Gloves - Armsman]
