I thought I'd try to gather up some current info for Blood tanking in current wow and for whats going on in the PTR.
There are 2 main builds I have seen that are viable for Sarth 3d.
Sartharion Builds
Build 1
Standard (+3DS) - This build is excellent for tanking 3-drake Sarth, and doesn't require regular respecs to do it.
Single Target Rotation - IT-PS-OB-HS-HS HS-HS-OB-OB RPDUMP = RS/Deathcoil
Multi Target Rotation - DnD-IT-PS-Pest then TAB-HS/Pest/BloodBoil RPDUMP = RS/Deathcoil
Build 2
Specialised - This build goes for extra hps and self healing. (My first Sarth 3d kill this way). It's sadly not much use for anything but Sarth 3d. It generates little threat but really not necessary on Sarth as there is a long period of time with just the Dk tank.
Blood Pros and Cons
Blood Strengths
* Single-Target Threat - roughly comparable to Frost ST threat (see weaknesses)
* Effective Health - capable of the highest effective health of any deep-tree build
* Expertise - capable of the most reasonably-attained expertise via talents
* Nice Raid Buffs - Blood Aura, Abom's Might, Hysteria
Blood Weaknesses
* Dependency on debuffs for threat - Sunder/Expose armor. Less of an issue on 25-man raids than 5/10-man
* AOE Threat - Very inferior to the other trees
* Proactive damage mitigation - You can grab Lichbourne if you go into the frost tree. Vampiric blood will give you a hp boost and Mark of Blood will help heal and you have imp rune tap for oh shit moments. You basically trade mitigation for self healing.
Raid Tanking Builds
I will be experimenting with some regular tanking builds over the next few weeks for max tps. If anyone has a spec to add please let me know so I can put it in this header post.
Test 1
Please let me know of any suggestions.
