Crit rating is what it says; crit rating. Add it up manually from your gear or simply hover your cursor over your crit chance and take that number. That number *is* your real crit rating. The fact that it doesn't match up with your crit chance is because your crit chance includes base crit (which the simulator already knows about), talented crit (which the simulator will add depending on your spec), and crit from agility (which the simulator will calculate from the agility value your input).

I don't know. Seems pretty logical to me =p.

Anyways, Bone Shield was found to be back to its old duration of 5 minutes on the PTR (undocumented changes ftw ^^). The sim seems to still be using a duration of 1 minute. Not a huge deal, as it's easy enough to calculate the dps gained by hand, but regardless, would be nice if it were to be changed (or there was an option to use the 3.3.0 duration).

How does one come up with a set of EP values that are not so contingent upon your current set of gear?

I'm lost in the math behind what should be used as the "benchmark" for EP values.

There appears to be a problem with how the sim models BT/Bone Shield. Looking at a generated log Bt/BoSh was not used for the first time until over 700 sec into the sim. The sim is set to use Bone Shield After BS/BB, which I assume means it won't bloodtap and waste a BS or BB. There is plenty of time available for the Bt/BoSh to be taking place.

Also, would it be possible to add a Horn of Winter priority? The sim doesn't use it every time its up and I'd like to experiment with using it to generate extra RP.

Are you sure Bone shield is not used around 60-70s? I have set up Bone shield to be up in the start of the fight for 60 second. Use Bone Shield After BS/BB means the simulator will wait for the blood rune to be in cool down to pop Blood Tap then refresh Bone Shield.
For HoW, I will see if I have the time for the next release.

Version 1.1.6

I can not get this version of the simulator to run on Windows 7 or XP.

When I try to use 1.1.5, it works fine until I tell it to show me a combat log, than it crashes.

Any ideas?

Same thing here. Starting from the first version with multithreading and up to the last one 1.1.6.1 the sim just crashes when i press "start simulator". Don't have any idea why.

I got similar results looking from both personal WWS/WMO reports, and top parses from the WMO website.

I'm fairly certain that both Frost Fever & Blood plague are based on the melee crit chance, and I believe I saw it as well in the Blood thread.

Tried it using a completely fresh version (ie. disregarding all your old xml files?) That might help isolate the problem. Also do you have all glyphs set and/or specifying 'none' on a glyph slot (if you're a tank).

I noticed on one of the default character sheets the new PROC tag is setup backwards. The closing tag [/proc] is before the opening tag [proc]. Move that / from the top proc to the bottom and see if that fixes your problem.

Yes, the included dw character has a / missplaced. This should correct the issue. However, the sim should not crash if you have select to create combat log unless you have remove the corresponding folder.
I would really appreciate if some of you send me some premade characters, rotation and template I could include in the package. I could focus my time on more technical stuff.

When I have launched the test the result was 11614 dps. Afterwards I have changed some options couple of times, but each time the result was similar. I am not advanced user of that tools but is it possible to peak that DPS, since the most dps I pulled with my character was about 7k.

Any chance we could get a Desolation priority added? It would use bloodstrike to refresh desolation in the same way <FrostFever> uses Icy Touch.

This helped, thanks! One of the built-in character templates has incorrect xml though (DW Frost). Crashes on launch too.

1.1.6.2 Release notes
* A new option in the tank module for Armor than don’t have to be taken into account by Frost Presence. You still have to input in the character file the armor given on your IG character pane.
* Correction on the DW premade character.
* <Desolation/> available in the Priority.
* Horn available in the Priority and rotation.
* Multiple short fight should work now.
* Frost Fever back to melee crit rating for T8 4 pieces.

Since the last In game patch, it seems like the "green" Attack Power in the tooltips only show the AP given by equipment, buff and enchant. I don't see AP given by Bladed Armor. Can anyone else confirm this?

I'm getting a crash anytime an unholy template is chosen. I was able to duplicate it every time using the default 2H Ulduar character and any of the default unholy templates.

Edit: This happens with either a priority or rotation, regardless of the one chosen (even tried a blood priority).

Can you try to redownload the package (right-click -> save as...)? I have uploaded a 1.1.6.2 version with a bug in Bone shield. But it should be corrected now.

While doing some testing on two different DW unholy builds I noticed something strange. It seems the sim is applying the 3% crit chance increase from Annihilation to 4pT9 and possibly Wandering Plague. I am not sure if this is functioning properly or not. Unfortunately I do not have 4pT9 DPS gear to test whether or not annihilation affects it.

Edit: Strike that. I realized I was looking at the old code used for armor. However, I did notice that Bloody Vengeance is being counted as 2% damage per point rather than 3%.

Heroic Death's Choice Broken

I posted about this a page or so ago, but I'm not sure if anyone was able to see it.
It seems like the Heroic version of Death's Choice is broken. I am getting a DPS loss when I upgrade from Greatness / Death's Choice combo to Heroic Death's Choice / Normal Death's Choice trinket combo.
Some other information is that I am using the 16 / 0 / 55 Unholy build from the Unholy thread, the packaged unholy rotation, blood presence, sigil of virulence, and rune of the fallen crusader.

I get 8330 DPS from Greatness / Death's Choice and 8198 from Heroic Death's Choice / Death's Choice.

Is anyone else getting these results when using the Heroic Death's Choice with the simulator?

* 2 Pieces T 10(Damage): (Updated) Your Obliterate and Scourge Strike abilities deal 10% increased damage., and your Heart Strike ability deals 7% increased damage.
* 4 Pieces T10 (Damage): Whenever all your runes are on cooldown, you gain 3% increased damage done with weapons, spells, and abilities for the next 15 second.
* Scourge Strike: formula implemented: (50%*weapon damage*physical modifiers + 50%*weapon damage*0.25*number of diseases*spell modifiers) * SS modifiers
* Unholy Blight: This talent now deals only 10% of Death Coil damage as a damage-over-time effect on the target.

Could you please explain, which are the physical modifiers und the spell modifiers of SS you used?
