So, there's no way to simulate how much DPS one would get from swapping an 20 expertise to a 20 stamina gem atm, assuming I'm not at expertise cap. Is that correct?
EDIT: Of course, other than running the simulator, I assume? Because apparently some stats are relative to others, and even to themselves, as discussed in various threads. They are not fixed by any means. So the EP value of hit / expertise is not fixed, it depends on the other stats and possibly also on how far you are from the cap (which is what I am trying to figure out by trial and error, I guess).

CrossOver Mac
For anyone trying to get this to work on a Mac with CrossOver, I finally got it working today so I thought I would mention my setup. I'm using a Windows 2000 bottle, and I not only needed to install .NET 2.0 and the .NET 2.0 SP1, but also Internet Explorer 6. This took me a while to figure out, as the sim would run but then crash when generating the report. As it turns out, the report seems to be generated as html and displayed in an internal browser, which uses IE components.

Hi there! Great tool. One important thing is still missing in EP calculations though - hit past the spellhit cap. Very important for all dw builds.

You can use VMware and make a virtual Windows.

It's not important. It would be even lower than hitrating past 8%. Sure, you'll get a number, but it's far from being important or interesting.

It can be used for comparing pieces of gear when the char. is beyond spell hit cap. BTW, I wouldn't actively gem for spell hit but I understand some may do it for reliability (handy if you have a dedicated job to kill buffing ads or similar) or it may be capped passively by gear.

Racials
I was wondering if there is anyway to implement racials into the simulator.
For example I am an orc and I think seeing 5% pet damage would be nice to have in the simulator.
Other racials that I can think of off the top of my head are Troll haste and Orc attack power cooldowns.
Another thing to consider are weapon specializations, however 5 skill is roughly 42 Expertise rating, so I have just been manually adding that to my expertise rating when I create my own characters.

Is there any way of doing a rotation in two steps for example
PS>IT>DS>HS>HS>DC (RP=0)
DS>BS>BS>BS>PES>DC (RP=0)
HS>HS>BS>BS>BS>PES>DC (RP=0) REPEAT
Ignore the fact that this is a weird rotation, but it is for a expermential build i like to try for heroic farming.
PS>IT>DS>HS>HS>DC spam (RP=0)
DS>BS>BS>BS>PES>DC spam (RP=0)
1st Rot to get all runes to become death runes exp 2 blood runes and using pest (glyph of disease) to refersh disease
Ideal Rotation after Death runes are up HS (blood runes) (pest, BS & DS = Death runes)
HS>HS>BS>BS>BS>PES>DC spam (RP=0)
DS>BS>BS>HS>HS>DC spam (RP=0)
PES>HS>HS>BS>BS>BS>DC spam (RP=0)
DS>BS>BS>HS>HS>DC spam (RP=0)
RINSE & REPEAT (although ideally i want to pes only when diease needs to refresh)

I don't think the simulator can do different rotations at different times, or repeat a certain segment only. Your best bet is to just use the priority system.

People have been wondering why Unholy is showing better results compared to Unholy. I believe this is because Crypt Fever isn't being included in the raid buffs. This might explain the discrepancy between the simulator and real life results. An extra 30% disease damage would make a big difference.

I'm currently working on blood optimisation. I have already made some progress by tunning the disease reapply. I guess it's time to add Cryptic Fever as a buff.
Vangarr, select blood priority.

For the non hit/expertise segments of the EP calculations, it automatically puts you at the hit/expertise caps, regardless of the character profile it's working off.
For the hit/expertise segments of the EP calculations, it subtracts X hit/expertise (50, I presume) from the maximum, then calculates the dps loss to figure out the EP value.
So, it's working as intended.
On another note: I'm curious - would it be possible to add an option to run X simulations of Y duration back-to-back-to-back? This was recently touched upon (slightly) in the Unholy thread, and I personally think it would be of a lot of use, specifically in regards to calculating the value of GoD (among other things). I understand the reason simulations run several hundreds of hours - to rule out RNG (be it crit rng, weapon damage range rng, etc) - but fights are not several hundreds of hours long (thank god!). A five minute simulation, on the other hand, is much more realistic, rng and all, and being able to run, say, ten thousand of those five minute duration simulations back-to-back and have the results automatically combined/averaged out would be much more informative.
Of course, if it is technologicly complex/difficult/impossible, no big deal. But if it wouldn't take that much time to add, it would be a very nice addition.

Should be possible. At worst it's slightly slower then. 5:45min should be a good default value.
What results you you expect from such a change?
Edit: No, it's more complicated. Unless you're happy without a total fight result breakdown.

I think people are wanting duration sims so that glyphs like GoD don't get fake weights.
It may take 20-30 seconds to actually get a perfect disease stack rolling. In a 5.5 minute fight that's possibly up to 10% of the fight where you aren't getting max disease dps. The sims runs for like a 1000 hours and 30 seconds is an eyeblink. This leads to GoD simming better but not necessarily being better in the actual fights.
