Rotation/priority help.

Could anyone help me out with how the rotation and priority systems work? I'd like to edit them and try a few things out, but I'm a bit confused.

For example, what's the difference between retry=0 and retry=1 on an ability?

Other than that, it seems fairly straight forward - for a priority, simply list in descending order of priority (IE diseases at top, then other stuff, generally). For a rotation, it would just go down the entire list until it hits the end then start over at the beginning, correct?

I did look at the readme and checked this thread, apologies if I missed an explanation buried somewhere =P

Would you mind adding Nevermelting Ice crystal to the list of trinkets? It increases AoE damage output for UH by a VERY large margin even if it is "a caster trinket".

Any chance of adding Bryntroll's proc to the list of Weapon Procs for the sim? All of my data on it is listed in the Unholy thread, though I can copy it over here as well, if you'd like.

For a tank, I just ran two EP sims using tank settings of 30% avoidance then 50% avoidance (simulating ICC), and found the weightings for Expertise were higher on the 30%. No other changes.

I can't think of any logical reason for this, since rune strike can miss but it can't be dodged/parried, so therefore suspect your code for RS when facing the boss (frost presence) has an error.

Secondly, it'd be really handy if I could get a small free-text field to type in a note, which is inserted into the Report page along with other data. Put the field on the first tab of the app. This would help me review Reports aftewards when I'm testing different glyphs or avoidance, for example, and not changing anything else in the settings.

There's nothing really wrong at the first glance, just maybe a 20% chance to parry versus bosses.

OK next thing, is that Frost, dual-wield, frost presence, the simulations appear to not use Threat of Thassarian on the rune strikes. They're coming out as doing about less than half the damage of a two-handed Frost sim (with otherwise no changes). The obliterates and other strikes look good.

There shouldn't be anything wrong. It is logical.

Lower avoidance should lead to lower RS/melee distribution ratio. That means at lower avoidance, Expertise is affecting a bigger proportion of your attack compared to at high avoidance, thus giving Expertise higher stat weight at lower avoidance.

But only if we look at DPS, since TPS was boosted by 17%, it should have netted neutral and TPS contribution from RS would be unchanged-ish.

On separate question: does anyone have an excellent single-disease Frost priority XML they could share? I'm not confident the one I have is optimal.

If I modify the Priority System to use Horn of the Winter with my 51-0-20 build Spell Hit and Haste values turn negative every time (Simulation Time 1000h, 100ms Lag). Is this a known problem?

I think you're confusing the simulator and Chill of the Throne a little bit. You're trying to compare high-avoidance, old Rune Strike (3.2) threat against low-avoidance, new Rune Strike (3.3) threat. That comparison does not exist in the simulator, nor do I think it serves any practical purpose anyway. The 2 cases you mentioned are comparing high-avoidance, new rune Strike against low-avoidance, new Rune Strike - this is what the simulator does.

Rune Strike threat is boosted by 17% regardless of whether you're affected by Chill of the Throne or not. I could be wrong, but I don't recall the patch notes saying the threat increase is only effective in Icecrown Citadel.

To my knowledge there isn't. However I'm currently working on one on my website.

What currently isn't working is:
-DPS and speed of weapon(s) equipped
-Tailor enchant on back
-Tanking Set bonusses
-Russian and TW.

It is useable to some extend now, you just have to manually insert the weapon dps and speed in Kahorie's DK simulator.

Which is done like this:
1. Pick US/EU, write realm and then your characters name
2. Press "Save XML"
3. Save in "Kahorie's DK Simulator 1.1.x.x\Characters\"
4. Pick your saved XML under Characters and then press "Edit"
5. Write speed and dps of your weapon(s). Your weapon(s) are linked on the site for easy access to the numbers.

Afabar and dr_AllCOM3 does NOT offer support for this. Any questions or things related to this, should be either send to me in a PM or through the E-mail on the site itself.

I think the Simulation does something wrong with Pestilence.

I compared 2 reports.

I expected the first one would do 2-4% less damage than the second one.
But the difference was only 27dps, 0,3%.

Both Simulations run 10 h or 36000 sec.
The first one with Pestilence has 11999 BloodPalgue and Frostfever ticks.
More than I expected.

The second one with IT+PS has 10803 BloodPalgue and FrostFever ticks.
6 ticks every 20 seconds as expected.
36000 / 20 *18 /3 = 10800 ticks

It seems that the Simulation doesn’t reset the 3 second tick timer when Pestilence refreshes BloodPlague and FrostFever.


First I thought, great, a 10 second Rotation isn’t that bad.
Than I did some tests at the Target Dummy.

10 second rotation (Pestilence hit 2 targets)
sec BloodPlague ticks
300 180
600 361

So Pestilence does it the same way as IT+PS.
Could you please correct that in the Simulation.
(Or am I wrong ?)

Glyph of disease doesn't reset the tick timers, so you will get more disease ticks using it.
