How do I take into account using the Herbalism Lifeblood Haste bonus?

Why is Epidemic giving me a -34 EP value? Is putting points into Epidemic somehow making my dps go down?

I'm seeing some strangeness in the sim. All simulations were done with the following gear set:
Kayfas @ Lothar - Game - World of Warcraft

First Sim, 2H unholy:
DPS 18500(+/- 2022)
Total Damage 6660.09m

EP values for said sim:
EP AttackPower 0.65 DPS
EP Strength 2.56
EP Agility 1
EP CritRating 0.6
EP MasteryRating 0.68
EP HasteRating 1.06
EP ExpertiseRating 0.92
Before Melee Hit Cap 0.94
EP SpellHitRating 0
EP WeaponDPS 3.8
EP WeaponSpeed 380
EP 2T10 295
EP 4T10 312
EP 2T11 132
EP 4T11 245

You will of course note the sky high value of expertise relative to crit and mastery.
So I think "well, golly I should reforge some excess crit and mastery to expertise", so I look and pretty quickly discover I only have I can only reforge about 100 mastery into expertise without sacrificing either haste or hit rating. This effectively bumps me from 4 to 8 expertise.

So I run the sim on this new set of stats:
DPS 18183(+/- 1846)
Total Damage 6546m

Well, that's strange. Even though expertise is rated roughly 50% higher than mastery and I'm no where near the expertise cap reforging expertise yields a fairly significant DPS loss. So I think to myself, "maybe it's a middle ground effect, where just a bit of expertise is enough to counteract the GCD capping of having high haste and a haste trinket. So of the two items available for reforging I reforge one to mastery and one to haste, giving about a 50/50 split, here are the results:

DPS 18485(+/- 1680)
Total Damage 6654.73m

Still lower, but better than when I simply reforged to expertise, potentially you could chock it up to RNG and say they're even given the variance, however given that expertise was weighted more heavily than mastery by 50% and a swing as small as ~50 expertise rating yields such strange results seems fishy to me.

I chock it up to the sim being a bit funny lately and go about simming other things, this time, 2H frost because my guild has asked me to spec chillblains while we work on Cho'gal for the blood of the old god adds, without reforging from my main spec (2H unholy) I get the following results:
DPS 18718(+/- 1629)
Total Damage 6738.6m

218 DPS switching to a spec that is supposedly the worst DPS spec available to DKs from what is supposedly the best dps spec, sets off a few alarms for one - especially given that I left reforging as it would be for unholy. Admittedly, the difference in gear is minimal - I'd simply prioritize hit > Exp > Haste > Mastery > Crit instead of hit/haste > Mastery > Expertise > Crit,

I haven't made any modifications to the sim, and the sim has produced the same results on multiple sims for me. Anyone know anything? It seems to me that the sim has been acting very strangely lately, this is the first documentation I am capable of providing, although certainly not the first I've experienced.

Do you calculate your dps with the "Beginner mode" or the "Advanced mode"??

If you use the Advanced settings, which do you choose???

Advanced settings. All character information is identical to the armory link I provided above, both running in unholy presence.

I don't have a pot or prepot selected because the sim doesn't have golemblood potions yet (which seems like it should be a priority).

Sim time: 100
latency: 150
RP / 60 : 0
Use pet is checked.

All buffs are selected except the draenei hit aura.

EP options haven't been touched from the default, neither has stat scaling. Haven't gone anywhere near the debug tab.

EDIT: Can someone run some sims and tell me if they are getting the same results? I ask only because this seems backwards considering conventional thinking about the DPS disparity between specs.

Can't get to the report in Kahorie

I am new to Kahorie.

I downloaded Silverlight and use Kahorie as instructed in the OP. While everything seems fine, the report never completes and I'm stuck at the end of the Blue Line.

What is the status of this thread and the sim? I haven't seen any recent posts from Afabar for over a month and I'm curious if all the hotfixes were applied.

More info, the hotfixes I'm talking about are from Feb 9th:
  • Dark Transformation now increases pet damage by 60%, down from 80%.
  • Death Coil damage has been reduced by 15%.
  • The pet damage bonus from Shadow Infusion is now 6% per stack, down from 8%

The sim had the 4.0.6 checkbox before the patch came out but we never got a post confirming these changes were actually implemented.

Changes - dksimulator - Project Hosting on Google Code

The last commit was on January 18, though the "Last Updated" datestamp says January 25. Either way I wouldn't expect those changes to be implemented yet.

Seems like this sim might be abandoned? I don't want to put words in Afabar's mouth, but again, it's been over a month since the last update and we haven't seen any posts either. I really hope that's not true. Losing Consider and Afabar would really suck, especially since 4.1 will be out in the next month or 2.

No idea, I've been using simulation craft lately and trying to submit as many bugfixes as I can to improve its accuracy. Would be nice to see kahories updated though, I always liked his sim.
