I have suggestion (if that is possible and you have time to implement it).
What I loved about rogue spreadsheet (excel) is that they give to every item value.
That enables you following: you can chose between take badge helm or shoulders (both are upgrade to you but you want to know which is bigger upgrade) -> pick one which has better value difference (new - current).
I would love to see that info here - so I know how much of upgrade is each item and for example is it better to get 2 small upgrades or 1 big.
Of course value of item doesn't have to be in dps - whatever display unit suits you is fine.
I believe the whole point of this program, is to provide you with the most optimal gearing setup as a whole, and not on individual piece by piece basis. What I believe your looking for, is found in the typical Chardev/rawr programs.
Yeah the Optimizer (and my BiS thread) are made so you can choose items with the bigger picture in mind. Here we're aiming for the optimal final set, rather than optimal individual pieces (a la Chardev etc) that might end up making a shitty set with way too much hit or whatever.
I think the Force Hit Cap: Melee isn't working correctly. When I select my current gear, check all available gems (str/hit/crit/arp) and enchants and input my custom weights as computed by Kahorie's DK Sim (where the value of Hit-before-cap > Strength), the calculation always puts only Bold Rubies/Inscribed Ametrines in all available slots, yet claims melee hit = 100% (267 rating), which is incorrect. I tripple checked everything possible to rule out user error (which may still be present, though), but I'm at my wit's end.
By looking at it, the optimizer has only 2 choices and it's on the ring section.
- Skeleton Lord's Circle
- Ring of Rotting Sinew
Due to stat weight, it prefers make you hit caped with Ring of Rotting Sinew and gem crit instead of taking the Expertise ring and gem for hit. I don't see any bug here.
I am unsure in my version of your optimizer (which is awesome btw)why there is no weight value for frost in either the 2 peice or 4 piece dps set bonus. Just wondering if this is an accident or if they are not known for frost atm or possibly if my version is just wrong. I am sure the bonus is a huge dps increase regardless and a typical rule of thumb, it would just be nice have the numbers to support it.
Hello, I hope you might be able to shed some light on some off results I am getting. When I run the optimizer with my EP values from the sim it has me gem all ArP. Well that is all well and dandy, but here is my problem. I changed Fractured Cardinal Ruby to 0 ArP in the gem list to make it gem me Str so I could compare the difference in the score and to my surprise it went up instead of down. Am I missing something here? I would expect the optimizer to tell me to gem ArP when my ArP EP is 3.16 and my STR EP is 2.81, but why would my score go from 18570.64 with ArP gems to 18570.82 with STR gems with the above EP ratings.
I am still new with the sim and optimizer, so if I am making a simple mistake I appologize, just looking to understand.
P.S. I can send my .DKO if needed just let me know where to send it.
While the gem values can be changed, it's entirely possible that that is causing a problem (or an assumption about the value of the gem is being made) that I can't see at first glance. I would really recommend just unchecking the ArP gem if you don't want it to be used, as that method is both faster and I know that it is accurate.
If this doesn't fix your problem, just upload the .dko file and send me a PM with a link. Any generic filehost will do. If you can't figure that out, then just PM me the contents of the file.
I have a problem with the optimizer. I selected the exactly same gear/gems/enchants that I currently have and did a calculation.
In the total stats summmary all the stats shown is correct except Strength and Armor. That the armor is a bit lower doesn't concern me that much (although bladed armor makes a little difference), but the strength really throws it off.
The strength shown in the optimizer is 2005 while my current strength is 2245. I thought about it a lot and is my analysing correct?
My base strength is 180. 2005 + 180 = 2185. I have 1x strength modifier talent that is 3%.
2185 x 1.03 = 2251.
So it's close enough right? But I mean, this is a sim/calculator right? So shouldn't it be exactly 2245? I just want to know what's going on here and if I'm correct.
When using the optimizer I was able to select most of my gear but the chest and pants "which wasn't listed" I guess cause they are a "set"gear. I then selected the gems i used in my gear and when I selected "Calculate" and I get an error message about gem set not found or something along on those lines.
