Concerning Mana issues: the best way to fill those imo, is to go for Furor rather than Moonglow as it provides 5% mana increase/point (versus the 3%)

I guess i'll follow hamlets spec, although i'm tempted to go for the 6%dmg increase on moonfire spam (Blessing of the Grove) and respeccing to MSS the moment i ding 81!

You need points to fill out the Balance tree anyway. Furor doesn't compete with Moonglow, it competes with HotW and MSS.

At the higher levels, do single mobs live long enough that you nuke a lot and make use of Eclipse? Because then Euphoria and Dreamstate could be a much better way to deal with mana than Moonglow.

Any thougts about "leveling to 85 meta"? Since chaotic skyflare will be not working and I think, regeming all the t10 gear would be like a bit overkill.
I thougt about Insightfull at first, but 300mana proc seem to be pretty weak compared to manacosts for 80+ spells. Ember Sklyflare look like a winner to me, did I miss somthing?

As someone mentioned a Dreamstate Build will probably be superior to a Moonglow manawise and there's no reason to skip Genesis. Gale Winds would definitely be the first talent to lose looking at how rarely Hurricane is used and how little damage Typhoon does. In either case as someone said mana does not become an issue until 83-85 and at that point we have a few extra talents available.

For solo play, I think the only "nukes" you should cast once you are in Eclipse are SS and MF. Consider that even in raid conditions, MF+LS DD is about 75% the DPS of Wrath, but without shortening Eclipse duration.

Most solo fights involve push-back (~10% longer Wrath cast times).
Many fights involve multiple targets (strongly favoring high Eclipse up-times).
Many incoming attacks can be dodged if you are using instant-casts (~7% incoming damage mitigation).
Presumably some mobs will be able to interrupt (kick, knockback) a cast.

A slightly higher base DPS, E&M, and more NG uptime just doesn't seem like enough to justify Wrath and Starfire once inside Eclipse.

I'm pretty sure I'll take Euphoria so that I can reach Eclipse faster (and for mana during 5-man runs). Dreamstate is powerful (almost certainly better than Moonglow). I'm just not convinced I'll need it with heavy use of LS.

I did level a toon to 85 and saw every zone but Twighlight Highlands.

Rotation Used: I generally used Nukes, but I did try the "run in circles MF spam" A few times.

Mana: My spec ignored Moonglow and Dreamstate, and I never had a big issue with Mana. I was popping Innervates at 70% mana out of habit. I don't remember drinking at all, but it probably happened a couple of times.

In the first two zones players are still strong and the mobs are some what week. Pulling multiple mobs wasn't a big deal. I could easily fight my way out. After Deepholm that was no longer the case. There were times I was in trouble with just two mobs on me depending on the mob. This made the DoT strategies a lot less reliable. In my experiance using Nukes didn't slow me down much.

Random update: there's a bug whereby Moonkin Form won't drop correctly if you try to mount (i.e. you have to drop it manually and then mount). You can just make a /cancelform macro to deal with this. While I'm here though, I'll just share my current mount macro:
/cancelform [noform:6]
/dismount
/run local a = GetCurrentMapContinent(); if (a==1 or a==2) then CallCompanion("MOUNT",45); end
/use [swimming] Aquatic Form; [combat] Travel Form; [flyable] Swift Flight Form; Invincible
You can drop the /run line once Cataclysm hits and you can use SFF in the Old World.
