In 25man Hc Maloriak, you can't obviously just look at the total damage done per player though. As a feral DPS, it's rather easy and fast to get a full armor reduction(talented FFF(maybe even swap out of form to do normal Faerie fires if you got nothing else to do, since it has no cooldown, I haven't tested this yet though, since we spent alot of time to get conclave down on 25hc)), bleed debuff(Mangle) and bleed(Rake and maybe Rip if you get lucky with crits) on all of them.

You might even want to go to bear and save berserk for the last 3 or 4 living slimes, assuming that the tank you have kiting them, has a solid threat on them.

You will lose some DPS, but it will still most likely help your raid's total melee DPS more than if you went all out DPS.

Since DPS Warriors typically respec Arms for the fight you won't need to mangle unless you lack DPS Warrior. I was able to FF every slime and still maintain a high level of personal damage. In fact on our kill my damage to Vile Swill was just below our Warlocks, DK and Rogue. You can maintain a high level of debuff contribution as well as damage done.

Off topic and I feel extremely nooby for asking this but I only recently started using my feral spec again and when I go into sneak I don't get a new action bar...how do I get this? Are there any addons apart from Bartender that I should have? Because this happens with Bartender too.

Open the config with /bar.
Click Bar 1 (Or whichever bar you want to change) on the left side menu.
Click State Configuration on the top menu.
Here you can set what bar to show when your in what form, Prowling included.

Alternatively, you could make macros for your buttons that does paging for you
Ex:
#showtooltip
/cast [stealth] Pounce; [stance:1] Growl; [stance:3] Savage Roar(Cat Form); Hibernate
This allows whatever it macro is bound to to use pounce from stealth, growl from bear form, savage roar from cat form, or hibernate from an other form.

i've noticed that when i compare my gear to other tanking classes, druids tend to have considerable amount less hp than say the Death Knight or Paladin. this is with a ilvl of 348. I'm curious if i'm doing something wrong or is it Cata making bears the one with the least amount of hp in contrast to Wrathe.

Does anyone know what changes the new shadowmeld will make to kitty dps? The 4.0.6 notes say that it's now useable in feral forms. Ravage's tooltip says it requires prowl - is this true or will any form of stealth work? I'd assume that it's not possible to go from shadowmeld directly to prowl while in an encounter (because you're still not out of combat while melded) but it would be another thing to check.

Finally - would it be worth it for ravage? Does ravage actually have a better DPE than shred without the free cost from stampede? The base numbers are better, but I'm not sure how it all works out taking things like the glyph of shred and combo points into account.

I can confirm that you can Shadowmeld and immediately use Pounce or Ravage, WITHOUT needing to Prowl.

In my gear, RAWR is giving me 492.5 DPE on Shred, and 397.58 DPE on a non-stampeded Ravage. Plus, you're going to lose a couple white hits.

Edit: I should add that it gives Ravage a DPE of 543.98 non-stampeded >80%.

Yeah, I confirmed that ravage works from shadowmeld, and also looked at rawr to see whether it was worth it.

In summary: probably worth it with predatory strikes and a foe above 80%. Not worth it below 80% if you have to spend the energy.

Definitely worth it on OOC procs though. No idea how much of a DPS gain it would be.

Should I allways refresh Rip even if Tiger's Fury is off CD soon? Or, in other words, is the damage buff from Tiger's Fury good enough to let Rip drop off for, say 5 seconds?

The question isn't whether the 15% bonus to rip will be worth missing a tick or two, but is the net gain going to be better than an extra shred or two.

I'd like to offer moral support, but I have questionable morals

Three Feral Tank Questions

How significant is the NE racial Quickness for feral tanking? Are NEs the best feral tanks (ally) for this reason? I race changed worgen for the look before I had considered Quickness...

Is Glove Reinforcements (+240 armor), assuming an already adequate amount of sta, the best feral tank glove enchant? Seems kind of lame to use the BC 20agi enchant and rawr is ranking armor 2x more beneficial to mitigation than mastery; but maybe +50 mastery is relatively more stats than the +240 armor despite armor's higher value.

I'm at 165.5 hp self buffed in bear form after switching three 60sta gems to 20agi30sta gems b/c rawr values agility so highly. Rawr recommends straight up agility which doesnt seem right, I'm wondering what balance of sta / agi gems to use? Also, I expect others use Regal Dream Emerald to satisfy yellow sockets where the bonus is agility (plus we need two yellow for meta anyways), so socket bonus and meta requirement aside, whats the best balance of sta/agi gems?

It's worth at least 350 dodge rating, and gets better the more avoidance you already have, so yes it is very significant.

Yes, it's the best available to us. But do note that it grants Bonus Armor, not Armor. If you check my spreadsheet (link in sig), Bonus Armor is ~0.146 AEP while Mastery is ~0.503 AEP for my gear, so yes +240 armor would be better than +50 Mastery Rating.

The Agility vs Stamina is a highly debated issue and there is no common consensus on what is the best way to go. I recommend reading this article: Agility v Stamina: The Breakdown | The Inconspicuous Bear My personal recommendation is gem for Agility, but if you find that you are dying frequently to RNG which is of no fault of your healers, check your overkill amounts and then add enough Stamina to cover for the overkills.

World of Logs • View topic - Savage Defense Absorbs

This might be the reason why your getting the numbers your getting if your going just off WOL reports. According to Rawr Savage Defense should absorb roughly 27% of the incoming damage on my bear in a normal 25 main raid environment. That is a lot of mitigation that WOL is missing.

I seem to be having a few issues as far as threat in 4.0.6. Havent seen the staff drop off of halfus yet and most of my raid group is using epic weapons, could that be an issue or did the mangle nerf hit harder than I thought? I do keep all of my bleeds and keep up pulverize, might miss a mangle or two using from the proc and macro'd most of my attacks with maul to continue to use that each cooldown. Any other tips that you might be able to give? I recently went through rawr and optimized for threat and it got me up to 39 expertise and still hit capped with only losing 1 point of mastery and about .6% dodge. Haven't tested it yet but still have some concern.
