As far as I know, when you cast any spell, it takes all your current buffs and the spell will be affected by all of them till it expires or is refreshed. So in this way not, it doesn't change dynamically. However spells adjust their "parameters" by buffs/debuffs on your target, ie you cast moonfire on a target with 20% dmg taken reduction and after this reduction wears off, your moonfire will start ticking for more without having to refresh it. And same for healing spells and various +healing taken buffs [Item not found!]. Casting Tranq during last second of ToL buff or Power Torrent or whatever is safe and whole spell will benefit from them.

So 1 sentence version: Casted spells don't change dynamically with your buffs, but do with buffs/debuffs on your target.

World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis

I just recently transferred to A.M. to a guild that is 6/7 HM (25m). I was hoping to refine my healing a bit in this thread if I could get any advice as to what I am doing wrong. I just got told that I am not doing good enough to get a core raiding spot. I was hoping to hear why from these logs because I was told that I should be doing better especially on Beth'tilac. I was on straight raid healing for this fight and I tried to keep rolling LB's on the drone tank. I am at a loss here I feel the only thing that I may have been able to improve on would be to use SM more but other than that I am open to advice/criticism whatever it may be.

Note: I was just on a hiatus from Feb-August, these are my first ever heroic logs in 25m.

Hello,

First of all your healing logs on Beth show that you have 8 (!) healers there which is quite alot, so it will tricky for you to get alot of healing extra. But from what I can tell you can probably get an extra tranq in (since you only use 1 at the moment). Try to use it either as you run in while you wait for the tank to be able to get up the web, or the first time Beth does her Decimate (I believe it's called that). That way you will have a tranq up again for the final phase when you can get some extra healing in.
Also try to use Swiftmend on cooldown on a person that is standing around other people. You could get alot more out of your Effloresence healing if you do that consistantly.

I assume your current guild judges you on meters mostly (even though not really usefull for healers it's probably the only tool they have). With that in mind you could try to get a tranq in on Shannox after he throws his spear when he is below 30%. On Alysrazor you could use your Tranq at the start of the fight after the knockback (and after running back into place), and again every p4 since it will be off cooldown then. At Rhyolith you could also fit in another Tranq.
Also, don't forget to use Tree of Life.

I noticed that your Mastery/Harmony up time is about 45% over all your kills. Try to keep that as high as possible so all casts that you do are affected by it. You have reforged alot into mastery, make sure that it counts! You could for example add it as a Power Aura so you notice when it is on (or off).

A small point regarding your gear, you could drop some haste for Mastery (for example change the gems). (Also, with the amount of kills you did, you should have the Valor Points to get some upgrades, for example the relic.)

Hope this helps, good luck with it.

Sangdraxx:

A few quick tips to get your HPS up:

1) Swiftmend more. Each Swiftmend gives you the Harmony buff, and also drops a nice, juicy Efflorescence patch. It should really be used on cooldown in either raid-wide or single-target damage. Don't worry about getting the perfect spot, and just get as many out as you can.

2) Regrowth more. The Beth'tilac kill you linked had you only getting Nature's Grace once in a 9-minute fight. NG is a very big chunk of haste, and one RG a minute isn't going to break the bank. Get it as often as you can. Also keeps Harmony up.

3) Lifebloom more. You want to keep LB active as much of the time as you can. Between Revitalize and 2T12, LB is a huge mana source, and can let you be using less efficient, faster heals (like RG) more often. Also, it's a nice HoT. Keep a 3-stack on someone taking continuous damage.

As a simple piece of practical advice, I'd try renewing the 3-stack of Lifebloom with a Regrowth every 10 seconds. Should keep LB, Harmony and NG at near-maximum uptime. Then just Swiftmend on cooldown off one of your RJs. That should boost your numbers a bit. May be mana-hungry, in which case get an NG timer, and either Swiftmend for Harmony and cast LB to renew the stack, or refresh LB and Harmony with Nourish (if SM is on cooldown). Hit RG whenever the timer tells you NG is up and there's damage coming through.

Just a quick question regarding the new trinket in 4.3 - Windward Heart (Windward Heart - Item - World of Warcraft). Does this proc off HoT ticks? The tooltip says "critical heals" so I'm just wondering ...

Yes it does, at least on the ptr right now. Remember that HoTs can crit in Cataclysm.

The ICD feels to be BELOW 45 seconds with some approximation by others (link). My testing in a 25 LFR raid suggests that a 25 second - 35 second ICD correlates to the proc rate compared to the fight duration (WoL Link) [Sephinia is the druid with the trinket]

Note: The windward heart trinket is seeing 6% - 9% of healing done over the course of a boss encounter.

Thanks Nihlo. I don't recall seeing that post - was it from druid forum??

I'm also interested in finding out the ICD of Seal of the Seven Signs. Tootip says it gives 2904 Haste for 20 seconds which sounds rather OP for us depending on the ICD.

The icd of the Seal is probably 100 sec.

Have a look at the current trinket-discussion in the [Resto] Gear Discussion 4.2 (Firelands) Thread.

hello, I just rerolled my offspec to resto and I'm currently at 2004 haste rating. Now I know the breakpoint is 2005, but as I'm 1 haste rating away is it better to get past the break point (I'd be somewhere around 2060 haste rating) or just stay where I am?

An extra tick on WG/Efflo is worth much more than the 61 Mastery/Crit/Spirit you'd be losing. Go to 2060.

Extra tick is worth over 3% raw HPS. 60 Mastery is less than 0.5%.

Digging through the Dragon Soul loot a bit I realized, that it is possible to reach the 3478 rejuvenation breakpoint even at a 397 item level. This would imply though to use 2 moonkin set-pieces (both beautifully provided with haste/mastery), the bottled wishes trinket and ferociously demanding dark intent. Is it worth the effort? I am not as much concerned about the loss off 4 piece T13 as for complete neglect of mastery/crit.
Edit: It would look something like:
Profiler - Wowhead
(The numbers seem to be a bit off in wowhead as I do not need the Quick Amberjewels to Reach the breakpoint in RAWR)

I am also interrested in knowing the exact buff of the green crystal - Essence of Dreams.

There seems to be different opinions on this. Is it only direct heals that are duplicated or also HOTs.

Thx in advance.

Blue - Source of Magic is the most beneficial of the three buffs to resto druids, the problem is that it takes longer to come out which makes Red - Gift of Life the best overall hps due to efflorescence double dipping and early spawn time. Paladins also benefit much more from blue than druids do so keep that in mind when allocating buffs for your raid.

Green - Essence of Dreams DOES work from hots, the hot or direct heal MUST be healing done, it ignores all overhealing, and the recent hotfix changed it so that your heal MUST be over 1500 to proc the effect (depending on your spell power Wild Growth ticks may or may not proc it). You will want to maximize your healing done on Swiftmends with this buff especially with 4T12 and to avoid over-healing with it (which is good practice always however not required for laying efflorescence in normal circumstances so it is worth mentioning), hots are still the most effective way to heal.

Once all three buffs are out green falls behind the longer the fight goes on, but is still a viable option for druids.

Expanding on this, is there haste points resto druids should be aiming at if taking the blue crystal? Having a 100% haste buff, is there a specific point we can aim for for extra ticks accounting for this?
