@Tuscarora sounds perfectly reasonable. As far as logs and personal experience goes, option a) Hurricane Spam should be the best (if you are able to stand still).

@Tuscarora re: Meljarak.

I agree, for each number of adds up, there will be an optimal strategy. I wasn't advocating a mixed strategy at all, just trying to clarify the pure DoT strategy that people who are having success with the DoT strategy are using.

The other variable to consider is whether your group is going for a pure aoe strat or a focus down one group first strat. Both seem perfectly viable for normal, but if it's the latter, and most of the groups clearing the add phase fastest are doing the latter, then a DoT strategy would be preferable (even if suboptimal for moonkin given 6 targets) because it alone allows you to contribute focused DPS.

Yeah, that's right: if you're AoEing the adds but for CC reasons you need to deal more damage to one specific type it makes sense to dot them and then Hurricane.

Heroic Blade Lord Ta'jak: definitely get Wild Charge. You can use it mid-air when the boss grips you to the Blade Tempest and you'll cover a lot of distance backwards.

Thanks for the tips Narwhal

I dug through a lot of different logs on Windlord trying to find what was optimal re multidotting and aoe, and found people ranking top 10 with both strategies, and tried a ton of different styles personally since we spent a decent number of hours on it in 10m the prior lockout as an extra credit raid before we went in on 25 and got the kill last week. Our pull only cc'ed 3 targets instead of 4, leaving an additional aoe target, so I wanted to do a bit more aoe before the first set of adds (menders) died. The way I personally found most effective was starting lunar, just about to exit, prepot, starfall, start precasting starsurge into nearest add, and then immediately pop INC/NV and CA, throw out the double set of dots on everything using SS procs as soon as possible to not lose them, get all 7 targets dotted up, and refresh them as close to leaving CA as possible on what you can, since you've got astral storm as an aoe here, I didn't feel it worth casting that as filler though maths could prove me wrong on that. Saved a SS proc for the leaving casts and was precasting a starfire that would push my energy along with the SS close to solar so that I could spend the remainder of INC/NV hurricane spamming on all the adds. At this point I generally camped solar until the first set of adds was dying, using symbiosis to cast mass dispel on all the adds in a rotation with our shadow priests to get quickening off and SS procs to inch towards lunar. As soon as first set of adds was dead went into the multidot + ss procs into wind lord strat that seems to be most effective.

One reason I'm also doing the Dot / SS rotation is that I'm also having to CC.

So now that my raid team has an Alt Rogue Geared enough, we can start our H-Will progression. I'm going to be trying out both HotW and DoC to see which one has more potential. I'm leaning more towards DoC since it's a very healing intense fight.

I also would like to point out you can Soak Titan Sparks with Displacer Beast.

Lol...before I blow your mind, you need to understand there's a delay between hitting the spark and the spark exploding.

A. Run into spark.
B. Displacer Beast before spark explodes.

Win!

I use it as a last emergency soak...but it works.

So probably better to use Wild Charge instead. I didn't realize there was a delay as I haven't had to soak any on our heroic kills but certainly good to know.

Has anyone had a chance to test HotW healing on Tsulong during the Day phases? With the Bathed in Light buff and HotW's double (and mana-free) healing, it seems that Balance might be able to contribute a significant deal more to the fight than simply raw DPS.

On Wind Lord Mel'jarak, you can prevent Amber Prison and remove the other debuff with a well-timed Cloak of Shadows from Symbiosis on a Rogue. Cast Cloak of shadows when you get targeted (you get a debuff and a graphical indicator over your head).

On the Grand Empress Shek'zeer encounter, it seems that you can prevent getting feared if you use Anti-Magic Shell (Symbiosis on a DK) before the previous debuff runs out. Either that or I got a really fast dispel, would like confirmation.

AMS does prevent application of the fear if used after receiving Visions of Demise since the fear is a separate debuff.

You can also use AMS before running into the gas on the Imperial Vizier encounter to prevent yourself from getting silenced (for reapplying dots while running across to the next platform)

Does that also mean that you won't chain the fear to other raid member close to you?

I used it to heal in the first day phase on our kill and was able to do 17m healing across the course of the fight. I also used a Tranquility buffed by sun breath to do 2.2m healing alone.

Log is here (it was actually a kill but got bugged somehow): World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis
