We all know how powerful the 2T4 bonus is but has anyone considered using
[Wolfshead Helm]?
A post in the WoW forums mentioned it and I started thinking about how to use it. True you give up a standard dps helm but is the 20 extra energy worth it? The following ignores lag/misses which will of course mess with the cycle.
Standard Rotation:
Time...Ability........Energy
......Energy Tick.....100
0..........Rip..........70
1.......Mangle........35
......Energy Tick.....55 + Rip 1
2........Shred.........13
3.........................13
......Energy Tick.....33 + Rip 2
4........Shred.........11
5.....Power Shift.....40
......Energy Tick.....60 + Rip 3
6........Shred.........18
7.........................18
......Energy Tick.....38 + Rip 4
8.........................38
9.........................38
......Energy Tick.....58 + Tick 5
10.......................58
11.......................58
......Energy Tick.....78 + Rip 6
10.......................78
11.......................78
......Energy Tick.....98 + Rip 6
Repeat
With the [Wolfshead Helm]:
A slightly feasible rotation that requires 2T6 would involve an extra mangle while keeping 100% rip uptime.
Time...Ability........Energy
......Energy Tick.....100
0..........Rip..........70
1.......Mangle........35
......Energy Tick.....55 + Rip 1
2........Shred.........13
3.....Power Shift.....60
......Energy Tick.....80 + Rip 2
4........Shred.........38
5.........................38
......Energy Tick.....58 + Rip 3
6........Shred.........16
7.........................16
......Energy Tick.....36 + Rip 4
8.......Mangle........1
9.....Power Shift.....60
......Energy Tick.....80 + Tick 5
10.......................80
11.......................80
......Energy Tick.....100 + Rip 6
Repeat
This one comes at a cost of 483mp5 or 11600mana every potion cooldown. I'm usually in a BMx2 rSham sPriest group so that would help since you do get VT mana returns in forms. For my group setup it might be possible and would certainly be a dps gain since I'm gaining an mangle at the expense of the helms contribution to the damage over a 12second cycle with 100% rip uptime. I don't have Rawr at work but I'll run the numbers when I get home. There are probably better rotations out there but this is the best I could throw together while keeping the energy waste at a minimum.
My apologies I can't seem to get it to paginate the table properly.
