I've used it to cyclone someone who was mind controlled on KT when they were about to die from splash damage, and as said, it can be handy to save rebirthing time if you're pushed for time, but mostly it's going to be best to use on a big clutch heal.
hi all, been reading and learning from this site for a few weeks since coming back to the world of warcrack.
must say im loving the druid even more than before.
due to the guild rules of tank an healer priority on loot i have geared up fully in about 2 weeks of hitting 80.
so i have a very steep learning curve to get back in the groove of it all..
i have a few basic questions
polar set,,, 24stm gems in all slots? or mix up to get soc bonus,, i have dodge/stm and hit/stm in at present.
gloves cloak- armour enchants or agil enchants?
TPS - what sort of TPS should be a nice average?
apart from a trinket and staff there is not much gear i need, i have 4/5 val and 2/5 heroes and a load of various DPS gear the rogues already have from Naxx25.
should i make 3 tanking sets from my gear?
i have a stm set polar been the back bone to it.
a normal set, 50khp+ 36karm 45% dodge, 10% exp, but only 4%hit ( raid buffed also not got the blue versions of all the gems yet as there seems to be a shortage of them for some reason..but thats just a few agil and stm here n there. )
and a dps set for when im not tanking at all. which is crit ap based.
WOW ARM
the head is the WG marks reward which is not shwoing in the wow armoury at the moment, have the meta stm &2% arm bonus in and another 24stm gem. and the AP / res head ench also from WG
Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered (although I couldn't find it anywhere). Does the eclipse bonus apply when the spell is cast or when the spell lands? Wondering if I get the bonus if i begin my starfire cast with 1 sec left on eclipse. I think it only applies if the spell lands while there are seconds left on the timer but would like to know for sure.

Eclipse is factored in at the end of the cast. For Starfire, this is the same time as when the cast lands. For Wrath, you need to deal with travel time.
I'm trying to help out my friend who's a Balance Druid, so please bear with me if the question is a bit basic:
What do Moonkins generally gem for (assuming hit capped)? Straight-up spell power or do you gem up to some base level of crit because of the different on-crit proc talents you guys are working with?

1) What are my options for pulling in a remote caster without charging? A good example would be the initial pulls of Heroic AN where each pull consists of 3 spiders and usually 1 of those spiders is a caster. If I charge the caster, I'll aggro another set of mobs. I know I can distance/LOS pull to lure him to a safer spot, but am just wondering if there are other suggestions out there. Maybe not.
2) Any suggestions for a mod which shows who all of the enemy targets are focusing on? Sometimes in the thick of things when I'm tanking multiple mobs, I can't see if they are all hitting me or if some are hitting other members of the group. If this is an illegal question, just ignore/delete it and accept my apologies.
3) I've read a lot of conflicting notes on hit/exp for feral tanks. What seems to be the consensus from my limited searching is expertise is slightly more important than hit, and there's no need to strive for the caps of these. Is this correct or am I misinformed?
4) I'm tanking Naxx-10 this weekend for the first time with the following stats: 281 str, 786 agi, 1426 sta, 5690 armor, 412 def, 25.52% dodge - this is all in the standard caster form, not bear. Hopefully this is sufficient. I hear Naxx-10 isn't terribly rough, so I'm assuming so.
Remote caster without charging: feral faerie fire. This does a lot of threat and has a nice long range. The other option is to growl.
As to seeing who everyone is actually aggroed on without looking at the mob directly? Dunno. That would be interesting if not a bit busy. For the mob you're targeting, you can show target of target in the basic UI or in whatever UI mod you're using.
Until you have 26 expertise skill, expertise is almost twice as effective as hit rating for a druid's threat and helps with avoiding hasted attacks from parries. After 26 skill, expertise is slightly less effective than hit for threat. Neither is particularly important.
It's not all that useful to post caster stats. For tanking naxx 10, heroics, or naxx 25, you should shoot for 30k armor, 30k health and 30% avoidance. If you have these you should be sufficient to start.
Yea, I have target of target on, etc... but was looking for something to show who all the mobs are attacking. I do use SCT which shows a big "CHANGED TARGET" message when they change targets, but it seems to be unreliable or I'm missing it sometimes.
My expertise is 27 and my hit is 88.
Sorry, I posted in caster form because I'm at work and Armory doesn't let me toggle forms.
By avoidance, you mean dodge? I am at roughly 36-37% dodge atm.
One thing your post made me realize is growl is 30yd range, so thanks!
I just switched from resto to tanking about 3 days ago -- I used my resto druid to get some nice tank gear before I respec'd so I somewhat have the gear without all of the know-how.

I mean dodge and miss. 30% for both should be trivial. 40% is much better. If you're at 25% dodge in caster form, you should be at least at 31% in bear form. So you should be fine.

I would say all stam, or stam/threat. If you are wearing the polar, presumably it's because you need the frost resist, or to deal with huge instagib attacks (like sarth 3D). If it's not all about max worst cast TTL (in which case stam is king), I can't imagine why you'd be wearing the polar set.

A tooltip mod, such as Tiptac, might be of use. It's not perfect, but will show you who a mob is targeting when you hover the mouse over them, rather than solely when targeting them.
I am not sure if Aloft can be modified to show a target (this one shows/modifies the healthbars shown through toggling [V]).
It's a bit of a pity Blizzard nerfed the Cyclone range, as it was one of the few nice tricks we had vs caster mobs. From memory, mostly you can either safely charge a ranged mob and slowly scuttle 'em back a bit to a safer area, or LoS pull.
Ignorance can be solved with a book. Stupidity requires a shotgun and a shovel.
Hi, sry but I can't search as advert is in the way and I have not found an answer in all my reading of wonderful forum :{
I have tried to test this and it seems that I need to cast and have IS active on the target to get the MF crit bonus on SF. I have only ever seen this mentioned a couple of time in passing and the posters views were that the MF crit bonus on SF is active through taking the talent, regardless of actualy casting IS.

Yes. At end-T7, 500 Haste is worth about 450 Spellpower, while 200 Crit is only worth about 120 Spellpower, so Wild Magic is worth about 320 Spellpower total.
I have seen the term "Soft Haste Cap" tossed around in multiple threads. I have exhausted resources that I can think of but all I have found is 1.5 seconds, to match the GCD as a "soft cap". However this term is used in the Restoration threads and our CGD is not limited to 1.5 seconds in the least. So, in regards to a resto druid exclusively, what is the soft hit cap?

It refers to a point (which varies depending on context) where a stat becomes less effective. It still has some effect, but less so. For example, once a resto druid reaches 1.0 GCD on spells effected by GotEM. More haste still makes casted heals cast more quickly, but the stat becomes extremely less desirable.
So i have 122 Hit ratiing as feral. Would it be better to exchange my three 27 str gems for hit? that will put me at 203 Hit rating. I have rawr but i get an error when opening it, even after downloading a new update.
"Druids, they are so stupid they can tank better than warriors, out damage rogues, and nuke as well as mages. On top of that they can turn into a mutated seal."

That would be criminal. I'd suggest you make up the hit in enchants/gear swaps rather than using Dragon's Eyes. If you're going to gem at all for it, do it with 16's so when you get an upgrade you don't have to completely regem. I personally don't run much hit, though I run a bit more than you currently do; ideally you want to have hit that you personally are comfortable with, but I think sacrificing that many stat points would be less effective.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

I have 50 hit, 72 of the hit has come from gems.
Edit: updated my profile, had my alt as my character.
