They've stated many times that they wanted profession perks to be in line with each other, after all.
This is simply the part where I say its speculation and we shouldn't count on the dragon's eyes being upgraded, because there is zero precedent for that. Likewise there is no precedent for "nerfing" BS to keep it in line with the other professions, so right now all the information we have is that Epic Gems will be in the game at some point, and at the current state of professions that would make Blacksmithing the far superior choice, LW and Enchanting after that and only then JC.

In the Raiding as a Tree thread, there was talk about grid and addons for it to display hots and timers and such in grid. and then people were talking about the ways to customize it to get the most beneficial info out of it. And one person posted how to change the side indicators to numbers by deleting one small piece of the code behind whatever spell it was you wanted a number for.

I cant seem to find that post anymore, I've re-read the old thread, does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
i'm also still looking for this. the link that motte2win posted doesn't seem to help. it explains a nice way to set grid up for healing but doesn't explain how to edit GridStatusHots or GridStatusDruidHots .lua files to show a numerical corner indicator rather than a small square.

i actually found the post some time ago but the edit didn't work on the new version of the plugin. if anyone knows how to change the corner indicators for HoTs into numerical counters it would be greatly appreciated.

Right now, my guild finds itself in the somewhat strange situation that we don't have any feral druid raiding - we have me (Moonkin) and 2-3 trees. We don't have any hunter providing the sting, and I don't think our locks use CoR. So, in effect, we don't have the minor armor debuff covered.

Would it be more worthwhile for one of our locks to put up CoR or for me to keep up FF (this would probably mean me speccing imp FF as well)? Or should we just ignore that debuff straight away - I'm guessing not, but never having played a melee class in earnest, I don't really have any idea on how important it is for them.

It's about a 5% damage increase for every physical DPS class.

Personal loss is approximately one GCD per 40 seconds, or ~3.75% straight DPS loss without haste, in terms of effective cast time lost. With decent amounts of haste, this is closer to 1.2 seconds, or 2.5% DPS loss for the cast, in terms of effective cast time, so even in a 10 man raid if you have 2 melee DPS you should be keeping Faerie Fire up (with 1 it's probably equal if you aren't making use of IFF).

I assume what this means is that you should use rank 11 regrowth instead of rank 12 when the target already has regrowth, which changes the numbers somewhat. Since I don't have 4pt7 and gem for spirit, I feel like glyphed regrowth is likely to be better hpm than nourish for tank healing for me.

Did you consider that r11 costs more and heals less than r12?

It is absolutely worth keeping up FF as a balance druid, even if its not improved in any fight in a 10 man, and probably even a 5 man unless the mob is going to die right away. Even in 5 mans its not a bad idea to pop it on the tank's target right after he pulls to boost his threat / melee dps and its not like you can damage right away anyway. Basically FF is amazing.

Is it possible to check your rage status in a macro conditional? Like e.g.:

/cast [rage>25] maul
/cast swipe

Sure during the pull it would be a smart idea but at any point after that no. Nothing will really live that long for the 3% crit to really matter. Also you don't need as much hit for heroics so the hit bonus won't really help as much.

Why do people always ignore the -armor effect. This is a good bonus that applies to every melee strike on your opponent, which always benefits 1 or more people in your group.

While yes the debuff is great I'm sure you can agree with me that the level of difficulty in the current 5 man setting, you really don't need to worry about the armor lose to be successful.

It's still a practice of good habits. I would assume that most people asking simple questions would be keen on improving good habits!
