We played around with Festergut 25 a bit last night, and they must have made the Valkyr (or possibly all pets) immune to the mechanics there. They did not take any damage from the poison clouds and seemed to live most of the time. I didn't notice them dieing from the bile vomit debuff (which I seemed to be getting targetted every since time it was cast for some reason), although I wasn't watching carefully enough to see if they died from the exhalation.

I do like this weapon more now, but I suppose it really depends on what your other options are. It seems that no one really wants it, so it should be easy enough to get (our 2nd one last night went to a Lock who spent just above minimum DKP for it).
I wanted to chime in with saying that a warlock in my raid yesterday was using the staff but their valkyr were dying so frequently to Festergut and Rotface that they switched out to a different weapon for those encounters. Weird that the experiences with them are varied right now.

PP

So, I wanted to bring this up because I was leading our 10 man as well as spending 10 attempts on him in 25 hours before. On PP, we kited him across the room back and forth, such as the strats we've seen.

Does anyone have any suggestions on dpsing this guy, the constant running and moving was extreme to say the least, and I almost felt like I was refreshing my dots almost to much.

Also on that note, I got in a disagreement with another caster, because he was saying he as an ele shammy dps is hurt the most by moving. I thought while all casters pretty much lose considerable dps while moving, some casters may be hurt more then others, but not enough to completely disregaurd them in such a moving fight. Thus, my question is, is there in fact particular classes that truly are hurt more then others. (I'm assuming casters with instant spells might not be hurt as much)

I've read that we hurt the most, I've also read other casters hurt the most. Honestly, I think everyone hurts to an extent and the differences aren't that huge, but then again, that's why I'm asking this.

Predictable movement, we fare quite well - timing DoT's and other instants for when we need to move, and using nukes when we would normally have refreshed instead lets us weather the disruption.

Unpredictable movement, we have options to help reduce the damage, refreshing dots and casting typhoon. I think other classes don't have these options.

Movement hurts the "player" a lot more then it hurts the "class" I think. Some people just can't do stuff like refresh dot's on the move or other simple things like this, easy as it is.

[Nibelung] got a semi-nice-hotfix earlier this week. I ran VoA and hit some dummies for a little bit. Even with angels dieing fast/doing the seizure placement shit they do they were doing 7-8% of my damage each round. Hitting for about 1600-2000 and critting for up to 2600

On any kind of movement, predictable or unpredictable, we take a huge hit from lost Eclipse uptime. I made a post a few pages back spelling this out in great detail.

I've used SAA and Quartz eclipse recently, and tried Elkano's Buff Bar, Class Timers, and Sexy Cooldowns, but none of these show the cooldown for either of the eclipses, which I always found helpful. Is there an addon that shows this, or do I just have something disabled for one of these addons?

Which is why I am seriously beginning to think that the idea of being able to move whilst casting under an eclipse is not so absurd. It just seems to patch many issues before the big change of cataclysm. Both for pvp and pvE. PP is very annoying however it is a fairly predictable fight unlike some, once your guild gets to be doing this week in, week out, you'd have figured out the precise movements and positioned yourself accordingly to maximise.

The Valkyr of the Nibelung staff are problematic when they don't move with you and die in effects, it is normally tricky as well to judge where they are. Many times I've thought they were safe only to have them die. I would wish that if they have over 10 secs remaining they move out of harms way.

I am curious however to find out more about this semi-hotfix to the stuff was exactly?

Check the SAA thread, the version of SAA I got certainly displays the cooldown, as it always has done.

We were able to do Mad Skill tonight (woot) and I got [Legwraps of the Awakening]. Comparing to [Leggings of Woven Death], they're damnably close...
-11 SP
+2 crit
+14 haste

I had intended to use gloves as my off-set, but maybe I'll stick with these. :-D

Use Quartz : Procs Module, it's been updated and it will show both eclipse timers as Quartz eclipse did (and also other stuff that you can easily filter out if you don't need them)

I find it peculiar you left out the Woven Death leggings arawethion, they are perfectly itemized imo.

I decided the other day for the try of Festergut with OF and i must say, due to the continued aoe damage of the gas and seeds debuffs my frenzy was up a lot.

I used that spec only for this fight but i can immagine that, as you said, it would work for Marrowgar and Deathwhisper perfectly, too

I'm currently only specced 1/3 OF, it's the only point I can justify spending based on other requirements in the talent tree. I'd like to see what 3/3 OF uptime looks like - but I can provide the following information based upon 1/3 below.

On wednesday night, I got the following:

Marrowgar: 4 procs / 1047 mana gained (3 from bonestorm, and one from bonespike)
Deathwhisper: 4 procs / 1259 mana gained (Various volleys and an add beating on me in P2)
Saurfang: 0 procs
Festergut: 1 proc / 280 mana gained (from direct damage, not from the pulsing AoE)
Rotface: 0 procs

Unfortunately, the spell does encourage failing, ie - I could have had much higher uptime if I was not avoiding the poison cone from Rotface, or if I was letting adds melee me on Saurfang - this talent doesn't reward decent/aware raiders in most case scenarios.

I took 2 points from Gale Winds and 1 point from Nature's Reach to get my 3/3 OF. Gale Winds is only useful on AOE fights and I havent seen one in ICC sofar. And i took one point from NR because it didnt affect my single target DPS.
