in fact, the starfire crit was 71%, thus not highly crazy lucky rng, but still good.

I'de like to see some more parses from him, I noticed they have 3 healers for their patch, so their fight is generally shorter, where as we have 7 healers in ours, not much longer of a fight, as our dps per player is higher, just less dps in total.
anyways ya, 5800 is very impressive, I would like to see some more parses to see how consistent his patch dps is

Well on such a short fight you are very RNG reliant -- Im sure 6k dps is very doable in a 2min kill, but at the same time you can play flawless & end up going 5k, if eclipse refuses to proc or your starfires arent critting as expected thats just too bad.
Over a 6minute Brutallus this somewhat evens out, but fights from 1.45->2.15 are not a good measuring point.

It's his only parse above 5.4k. 6k is definitely doable, I don't even have nearly ideal gear and I did 5992 dps on Noth(with low treant damage and obviously a high starfire crit %).

Yeah, I completely agree, I'm missing quite a few pieces, mostly haste wise, and am managing to do 52-5400 on patch consistently, so 6k is very doable. We'll see

Would be nice to see a blue post from Blizzard where they admit that they were not expecting this high dps from all classes and that so they misscalculated some bosses HP. I see no shame in buffing bosses HP in a patch (1minute or less patchwork in few months?) but they probably won't, meh.

Druidark -> I think you missed the part where Blizzard decided to balance raiding around 25 randomly picked people from tradechannel. If I was pessimistic id share my belief that Ulduar is gonna be cleared first night by any serious guild, but lets be optimistic & hope for some challenges.
I do find dpsclasses fairly balanced, & so far im positively suprised over moonkin performance. Next patch is adjusting some of the higher (hunters & bugged rogues) & lower (ele shamans) dps specs & things should be fairly equal afterwards.
So far Moonkin seems to be one of the strongest hybridclass dps specs (While providing alot of flexibility in what other casters you can bring). Life on the owl-side is good.

The WWS I see moonkins doing very well in all have them in the 4k-5k range, which is not bad. But the other end I see Hunters/Mages/Locks etc, all coming close to breaking 6-7k. So if your raid has good mages for example, they will be pushing 6k on a patch while a moonkin appears to be on top of his game at around 5k DPS. Maybe it is just my worrying too much, but this kinda scares me in an environment where we should be pretty close to other pure DPS classes.
I only put up IS if I am refreshing MF(and eclipse is not activated), or I am about to cast wrathh to proc an eclipse.

I am seeing that you used Shadowmeld TWICE during this fight. Is there a logical reason why you would do this that I may be missing?

I'm a little bit dumbfounded as to how the hell most boomkins are pulling over 5k dps, the last 2 weeks I've been cursed to stay at 3k dps on most fights, even respeccing(many pallies and Spriests are in the guild so I never become a OOMkin) into more heavy balance spec for dps and haste and getting better gear. I still can't seem to get past the 3k mark even with full raid buffs and all. On patchwork this week i did like 3100dps (don't have a WWS for the fight). My dps rotations are the same that have been stated in all the forums I have looked over, IFF, IS, MF, Wx till ecplise then SF till 4s left on ICD(using Squawke and awk), while keeping dots up as best I can, and using treants and haste pots before Blust. Eating firecracker salmon, and frost wyrm flasks, hell I'm at 2300-2400 sp raid buffed, with only .2 ms lat and 12-60 FPS on the fight here's a link to my gear
The World of Warcraft Armory
I just don't know any more about boomkin, it's sad when I'm getting beat out in dps by under geared Spriests, damn mind seer. If someone could help me with this curse i would be forever in debt to you. because i have no clue what left to do.

Sometimes? Yes, but not on boss fights. Well, from what I have experienced.

Hi there. Currently on patchwerks i am pulling around 5k dps. However i am quite geared and am being beaten by other classes etc and i dont like it haha, i know i am a hybrid class, but i feel after looking at the dps some other moonkins pull i can do better. I have been reading up on forums on how to improve my dps and have got different opinions and they are kind of inconclusive.
Some people were talking about a soft hit cap for haste, and the rest of the points should go into crit/ or spellpower
Personally i thought the more haste the better, which was what some moonkins from my server told me, but reading on forums some people say otherwise eg. staying at the soft haste cap and putting the rest into sp/crit
Currently my stats are 1778 SP, 264 hit, 23.11% crit, and 576 spell haste (in moonkin form, note i also have the 4 set bonus) my armory is here The World of Warcraft Armory [I also beleive i have a sound spec] I mostly use haste/sp gems.
What i really want to know is, what is the soft haste hit cap? Whatever this soft haste cap is, is it good to stack crit/sp once you reach this cap, or is it just better to stack haste/sp like i have been doing?
Give me your elitist opinions help is well appreciated

Shadowmeld resets threat.

You are kind of low on spell power. Gemming spell power and haste is generally not that great. Go with pure spell power gems, at least for red sockets and when you don't need the socket bonus.
I would also consider finding a better weapon. Staffs are generally not the most optimal for moonkins. Look at getting a nice ilvl 213 dagger or the fist weapon and then pair it with either the offhand from emblems of heroism or the offhand from heroic Patchwerk.

No, it doesn't. Shadowmeld works more like Fade than Feign Death, it just happens to remove combat as well. When it drops, as long as the boss is still engaged, you get all of your threat back.
[edit] The rest of what you said is spot on, though.

With the new threat mecanics, when using Shadowmeld, shouldn't I be able to see if I regain my threat?
When using Omen, or MyThreat or anything else that works with threat these days, they all report that I lose all threat from any target I am in combat with and I never seem to regain it. Threat is rarely a big problem in my guild though.
