The set bonuses for T8 make it better then other ilevel 226 gear with spirit, but they're still weaker then the 4T7 bonus. I expect to stay with 4T7 until I can replace it with 2T8 and 2-3 BiS pieces. Once the loot tables are closer to complete we'll be able to start throwing some real math at this.

Insect Swarm got buffed, but calling it a "hugh boost" seems like a bit of a stretch. There was already a set bonus for it (poor 2T7, no one ever remembers it), and the idol is underwhleming as Starfox and others have shown. It will be worth keeping IS in our rotation, but I doubt its priority will change relative to the other spells.

Uhhh.. I can understand not upgrading to 2T8 right away, it's fairly lackluster. But neglecting 4T8 would be a rather large mistake. Even if the proc rate is as low as 5% per tick, it's going to be worth double 4T7.

The "trouble" I have with the set bonus is that with haste something to be stacked, every upgrade you will get next to t8.5 will lower the gain as Starfire is getting closer to gcd. I like the idea of instant starfire I do but starfire aint the slow long cast it used to be.
Wondering how it will be in the end.

On another note, with wrath eclipse being buffed, anyone who has numbers if Starfire eclipse will still be better? I guess so because of wrath clipping. I can however not support this with the proper logic and math.

Starfire is still a long enough cast that you won't be approaching hitting the GCD on it any time soon. The 4T8 set bonus is, and always will be, a rather sizable DPS increase.

As for Wrath Eclipse, Rawr.Moonkin's latest numbers show that the combination of the Nature's Grace change and the buff caused it to become better than Starfire Eclipse. However, I'll wait for the final word from Adoriele and WrathCalcs, because I may need to update some more calculations, which may change the answer.

There's also the fact that any haste effect that drops SF's cast time will also drop the GCD proportionately. So you're still getting Starfires at half the normal cast time when 4T8 procs (i.e. similar to a 100% haste proc), until your cast times are under 2s (50% total haste which, under NG, was previously calculated to be about 400 Haste rating with full raid buffs). Even after that, you're getting a major haste to Starfire with the proc well until you have enough haste close to the then-capped 1s GCD.

Consider that the old (okay, current) NG was effectively 20% haste already (i.e., for Starfire, there is no change in cast time reduction from NG). The set bonus proc is 5 times as powerful.

Squawk and Awe

I apologize if this has been addressed already, or if I should be posting somewhere else...

Adoriele, or anyone else, is there a way to modify where Squawk and Awe's bars show up? I find the addon invaluable for making eclipse work for me, but having it front and center in my screen makes it a bit hard to see other important stuff from time to time...

For the life of me I can't figure out if there's a way to click/drag the bars, or an option menu to move them or anything. Is it possible?

I think it's as simple as '/saa movebars" though I'm not sure if that's the exact command, if you type "/saa" a list of commands will be displayed in chat and it shouldn't be hard to figure out which one you're looking for. You can also hide bars that you don't use (personally I just keep up the eclipse and eclipse cd bars).

Is Faerie Fire typically not in the rotation at all? Picking up improved for the 3% crit, and the fact that it stays up for 40 seconds seems like it would definitely be worthwhile, even if just for the first 40 seconds of the fight. Some of the posts I read in the past talked about using it, but more recent posts and WWS i looked at didn't show anyone using it.

From what I've read, the rotation I see is IS/MF immediately and then ~15 seconds after eclipse is removed. Then it's just Wrath spam until eclipse and switch to Starfire.

Another question: is it beneficial to use your treants immediately prior to heroism? Is it going to boost their dps?

If a feral keeps up fff you get 3% crit bonus from it, which is the ideal situation (assuming you raid with a feral and an spriest) - i believe there have been discussions about whether or not it's worth keeping up on your own if you are getting the hit from an spriest, and i want to say that's a no, but someone might have to correct me, as i can't recall where i read that.

Another question: is it beneficial to use your treants immediately prior to heroism? Is it going to boost their dps?
If you can pull it off, drop em before heroism and see if you can con one of your warriors to battleshout for you and it'll be quite a nice increase in treant dmg for the duration.

We do raid with a feral druid (our MT) so no matter the boss, he should be able to keep up FF. But the talent says YOUR Faerie Fire increases yada yada yada. I've never played a druid, I'm just raid leading and trying to max out all our DPS classes. It'd be great if feral's FF did the same thing, is that 100% certain?

We try to time our Heroisms, and it'd probably be easier for me to just pop greater blessing of might on them since I'm healing. Warriors are going to cry about losing DPS to do that. But now I think we'll try to get Treants out just before heroism.

On another note, it sounds like FF will be 5 minutes in 3.1, so I guess it won't matter too much who puts it up.

Only the Moonkin's IFF gives spell hit. Be he gains a crit benefit from any FF.

Result:
If no Misery or no Feral, Moonkin casts FF, otherwise he doesn't.

In 3.1 when our IFF will last 5 minutes, is it then not worth it either way? I mean 1 GCD every 5 min to get 3% crit?

Yes, it will be worth it.
I would do it only for the 3 seconds there might be a mishap and it would not be on. Why take chances? I gear the way I know I will need the hit.

After 3.1 If there's a Feral and a Shadow Priest in the raid there will still be no need to cast Faerie Fire yourself, since the shadow priest will provide the 3% hit and the Feral will keep up Faerie Fire which will also give you 3% crit. The latter was confirmed in a blue post.

If there's no Shadow Priest or no Feral in the raid you should keep up Faerie Fire yourself as it is now. So the priority to keep up Faerie Fire doesn't change, but it just gets easier to do so with a 5 min duration.
