Or you could just stack it to 10 before the pull - Its not very hard, requires pretty good timing if you wanna start the fight above 90% mana though, but thats not really an issue for the 2-3 minute fights.

It got harder stacking up IDS after 3.0.8, since you can now only do it with damage or healing spells, and no longer with thorns etc.

I'm not sure it's necessarily accurate though, because you can still precharge the illustration with healing spells before the fight starts. The change made it harder to keep it up during a fight, but if the encounter mechanics permit it i don't see any reason not to count it as a +200 sp.

Dragon Soul is really not that great of a trinket, pretty overrated as far as I can see. I don't know why Rawr doesn't do this based on the length of the fight, considering it 'calculates DPS' supposedly. In addition to that, nearly everything in the game is 3 minutes or less, which makes that trinket pretty bad in comparison to the Embrace and Dying Curse. Just slapping 200 spell power value on it and calling it good seems kind of lazy in comparison to how much theorycrafting goes on here.
I've edited Rawr to the 175 figure; its still valued significantly above any other trinket (save dying curse if the hit is needed). This isn't taking into account bloodlust, either which would skew the progression up a bit.

Of course on fights where the stack would drop off, it definitely loses value.

I am trying to think of an encounter where this is so, and I have to admit I can not think of one immediatly. Unless there is a > 10s silence you can ALWAYS cast an instant HoT on yourself to maintain the stack. With mana not being an issue currently, even if you have to stop attacking, you should be able to maintain the 10 stack for the trinket.

The encounters that have a downtime would be Thaddius, Sapphiron and Gothik. Possibly on Noth depending on how quickly you kill the adds during teleport.

Between Stalagg/Feugen Death -> Thaddius, every Ice Block on Sapphiron and the Gothik teleports are cases where the proc will fall off unless you hot yourself up, which shouldn't be a problem. Refreshing Lifebloom on during the silent period is very mana efficient and mana is a non issue at the moment.
