Heres some in game dps stats i am currently seeing on live for you to have a glance over. Rip idol was on, savage roar glyph is not discovered yet on Sylvanas unfortunately so i still had mangle glyph in although we had a manglebot. Overall very happy cat with the changes.
WoW Meter Online - Combatlog Replay in Engrish <Mimirion, lots and lots of movement here. Very difficult to keep shred going with the boss doing 180's all the time and melee having to move in/out from explosive bombs on the floor and aoe bursts from the boss.
Unfortunately these were the only bosses i was cat. I tanked the rest.
4.5K autoattacks and 20k shreds seem odd to me.
In reply to everyone else about my issues: About what DPS are you averaging on the lvl83 dummy? In addition, what is the expected percentage of glancing blows on a lvl80 mob? You all are correct in that being the 83 dummy so my bad there. Perhaps I'm overlooking something but several guildmates of mine were hanging out the first day the patch came out, and I was definitely doing 4.5k to 5k DPS on the level 83 dummy. Now, as I said, I have to pay attention to get 3.8.
Those massive hits/crits would be from attacking the Heart, not the actual Deconstructor itself. The Heart appears to take double (or more, maybe it has low or zero armor?) damage from everything, which obviously skews the overall results tremendously (especially if you can time a near-full energy bar + refreshed savage roar + tiger's fury coming off cd right as the heart gets exposed). I don't think this particular boss will be good for studying dps for anybody unless you chop the Heart out of the encounter in some fashion.
I did not manage to pull off Shreds agains Kologarn. I guess it is not possible, provided the circumstances, but just to make sure, can anyone confirm it is not possible?
edit: I have the hands in mind. I already fell down trying to get behind his body :-).
Has anyone had any luck with working DoT timer-like mods that will track your current debuffs? My mods have turned completely wonky lately, with NeedToKnow only showing the timer of the longest debuff of that name, rather than only just mine (yes, I have the option to only track my debuffs set).
It's a nightmare in my new guild, which now has two other regular feral druids running alongside myself.
I use and love sorrens timers, which has an update now. It's perfect for tracking my own buffs and debuffs on targets. The only problem is that I would love to see other peoples mangles and traumas. Anyone got any idea on this?

I use rogue power bars (updated). You will have to add your own buffs/debuffs but it works perfect.

I know badkitty tracks other mangle/traumas as well though it currently is having issues with OOC procs (which I just have the warning turned off for).
Not sure if the new droodfocus is tracking other traumas/mangles yet.

It does.
Mangle cat, bear and trauma share the same icon (or statusbar) and, of course, there can be refresh by another druid or warrior.
Demoralizing roar, demoshout share the same icon too.
With the shred glyph should you still keep the rip idol? The shred idol might prove to be more beneficial since with the shred glyph increases the rip duration, I am not sure seriously.
This is with shred idol.
This is with the rip idol.
I saw that the rip idol is better then the shred but since shred has more advantages now, I am just curious.
(BTW the shaman in my group wasn't helping me out with totems etc. Both fights I believe was like four minutes)
Whether or not you have the shred/rip glyph should not really influence whether or not you use the shred or rip idol. Specifically, you should use the shred idol when you get a lot of armor pen. If you don't, use the rip.

I actually dps this fight in bear form wearing a very high expertise threat set. Since I'm already wearing the gear and in bear form, I tank the adds when the arm dies as well. I've consistently gotten top 10 dps with a couple attempts into top 5 this way standing just in front of his right shoulder. Rage is a minor issue but if you are good about managing your mauls against your rage, you shouldn't have an issue. Threat isn't an issue since we dps the right arm first until it dies and then switch back to it every time it respawns.

On PTR I was able to find a few angles to Shred the arms, but this is when the 'ghost' of the bridge behind him was usable. On live I haven't been able to Shred either arm and I've tried some creative positioning during wipes. This is a poor fight for a dedicated cat, but not terrible if you're simply swapping to Cat between Off-tanking Kolgarn or tanking rubble adds.

There should not be any glancing blows against lvl80 mobs.
The (level-based) mechanics have been changed back in 3.0 - in a way, however, that left glancing rates and damage depression the same for bosses, so it went largely unnoticed (see this post and following).

I've tried in both 10 and 25 to get behind the Right Arm, each to no avail. I actually went high Haste consumables/extra gear pieces and high Expertise and ended up hitting top 7 or so DPS anyway. Worked well with all the ArP I've got. You end up with a stupid amount of Clearcasts, but you can get in a billion Ferocious Bites. Overall, ~25% DPS loss from what I hit normally.

I'm getting similar errors to Kologarn's arms on the Heart of the Deconstructor, in terms of being able to get behind it. I get Target must be in front of you errors when I move opposite where I get You must be behind your target errors from Shred. It seems to vary from attempt to attempt, and is incredibly frustrating. Any suggestions?
What i noticed was that i couldn't shred the 75% heart, but i could shred 50% one. I dont remember how it was at 25%. Happened 2 times. Maybe position change, maybe something else, we killed him 3rd try once we started dpsing heart so i didnt have time to learn more.
edit: found log, if the link works you can see that i was able to Shred also at 25% heart.
The trick with the heart is it's a lot bigger than it looks. If you're at max range back on the boss, you should be able to shred the heart. If you're getting errors, back up.

Yeah, the heart hitbox is massive. Hunters occationally have to back up to range it as well, so backing up is the solution.
Also on Kolgarn, each arm shares the same location and size hitbox of the body, so you can hit either arm from any position, including hitting the right arm while directly under the left arm. Using this to spread out across the front of Kolgarn is a great way to keep melee alive and avoid over stacking for eyebeams.

a simple question in between... due to our lack of damage I've been forced from our guild to take cat spec as second spec to my bear spec. and due to the fact, that heal isn't really that satisfying for me anymore since 3.1... I don't regret.
the question is now... i've planned to hit something like 4,5k dps (if more, no problem) - especially at xt-002 25man - so... how many dps should I do completely unbuffed at the lvl83 training dummy?
I know, I have to optimize my rotation a bit and I have to learn to use things like trinkets and Tiger's Fury properly, but I recently did 2,5k dps fully buffed with bear spec and bear gear in cat form yesterday - so I think with cat spec and cat gear in cat form my actual 2,3k dps fully unbuffed are not so bad at all. But is there any kinda number, where I should aim for at the training dummy, so I can say "4,5k+ dps are within the realms of possibility"?
oh, and btw: if you check my armory you see my actual kitty equipment which isn't optimal at this point. too much hit, lack of enchants etc... maybe you take this into consideration, if you're trying to give me advices
Deconstructor's heart receive 100% more damage, therefore its misleading to aim for 4500 dps there.
Unbuffed cat with naxx25 gear can do 4000 dps on 83 dummy. That is what you should aim for. After quick glance (armory slow as hell) at your gear i'd say you should be able to reach 3 - 3.5k dps, but its hard to tell - it changed a lot with last patch.
The DPS is fairly close I'd say. Rawr shows that in my current gear, I should be doing ~4216 DPS, and I was going anywhere from 3900 to 4300 as berserk is used, and my gear procs.
The heart of XT was shredable all the time we spent on this boss - for me. Also there are not mechanics, which should force boss to turn back... maybe black hole pulled MT before droping heart. If BliZz didnt chaged this encounter from our kill, you should be abble to run around and find shredable position. But as I reported, if you are staying behind boss all the possible time, you should be able from this position shred heart all the time it drops.
For Kologarn, Im prety sure, there are no position for using shred. The boss is unchargable for warr - I didnt tryed, but it should be unchargable for feral cat. Very probably, because his back is not accesable. I just have to spam mangle (not improved) and pushed 5300 DPS, was second in or guild, behind shadow priest, who was abble to AoE arm elementals. I dont know, how much you lose by mangling. I did 200 more DPS on Ignis without being potted (no haste), but its hard to compare, because Ignis is retaded still turning boos.
On Kologarn, there is also interesting to AoE both arms and boos. Just buff the SR and spam swipe. I didnt tryed... just interested in how much DPS provide swiping 3 targets?
