I fail to see how that even matters, considering the trinket comes from a BoE item anyway.

All it does is making marketing easier, which should not impact gameplay or balance at all.

Considering these 2 new tanking trinkets, were do you guys think [Defender's Code] and [Darkmoon Card: Greatness] will be placed ?

Rawr still puts Darkmoon Card: Greatness at the top of the list. Heart of Iron is 2nd. The Generals Heart comes in below the alch stone, Essence of Goss and Defender's Code. This is with both the BIS from Ulduar, and my current gear(not in my armory at the moment, mostly BIS from naxx, not much 226 gear).

Probably HoI is better then DC because our health will increase significantly and 850 Armor can't make up for it, the difference on the use is also low, but i was thinking about the General's Heart trinket, i wonder what's the internal cooldown on it and how often will it proc. Considering this together with SD would be an improvement, 205 shield for 10 sec, that is like 820 AP plus in bearform. Any thoughts on this ?

It depends on the fight: Iron/Gossamer if a large HP pool is most important; Greatness/General if general-case avoidance is; Iron/Code if clicky avoidance is best; Greatness/General if you're trying to minimize healer throughput; General/Gossamer if you have lots of small things hitting you.

Trinkets are situational.

For cat dps, Rawr's v 2.2.0.9 now shows Meteorite Whetstone a lot higher than Darmoon Card Greatness: Agi, which is a new change. I cannot understand this big change. Could this be a flaw in Rawr? Or is the whetstone really worth the roughly 30% increase Rawr says it is over DMC Greatness?

Rawr is currently a bit broke with trinkets and seem to only count passive effects.

Until they model every single trinket proc, you inevitably need to go in and edit the trinkets yourself. Some helpful napkin math for trinket: For On Use, simply divide the amount by the cooldown times duration (A*D/C), for Proc on Crit trinkets, divide the amount by 5+ the Internal Cooldown, usually 45 time duration (A*D/(5+ICD))

This gives you 'close enough' values. In general, "On use" will have a slightly higher value because you can time them to the fight better, while ICD proc trinkets will often have a slightly lower value because of procs just before you are unable to attack.

May I add that Grim toll is only useful until hit capped? I got 2 items from Ulduar now that have both a fair amount of hit on them. I am actually wishing for an expertise trinket at the moment.

You can just as easily argue that any other item you have equipped with hit rating is only useful until capped. Grim Toll is huge in value. There are a couple new trinkets in Ulduar that beat it in overall value, but not many. Most other slots have a larger number of alternatives that do not include hit.

If you change the proc model to add 300 "Agility" (and set "Highest Stat" to 0, obviously), this fixes the Greatness Card ranking.

Esp with the new valuations for ArP, I really don't see [Grim Toll] being anything but one of the top trinkets for a while.

Both [Pyrite Infuser] and [Wrathstone] at first glance still look to be worse than both DMC:G/Agi + Grim Toll.

(I haven't crunched the numbers honestly, but if someone does I'll update the 1st post).

My napking math, and Rawr, both put [Pyrite Infuser] 16% higher (28 dps) than DMC:G unless it would be wasted +hit, And I can easily switch around rings/belt/boots to ensure it isn't.

You might want to use Rawr or Toskk's Calc to calculate the value based on your specific stats. The value changes depending on your equip/stats distribution.

Rawr shows [Mjolnir Runestone] a little higher than [Grim Toll] for me.

My impression is, that lots of the new Ulduar items have hit on it, especially the weapon upgrade [Twisted Visage]. So I'm thankful for every Item without Hit, like the mjolnir runestone.

Only to a side note:

Yesterday i got the [Heart of Iron], and its not on shared cooldown with the [Defender's Code]. Sorry if it was a known thing, but it was a surprise for me.

so for now DMC:greatness and the heart of iron are the 2 BiS trinkets? what about the furnace stone from 10 man ulduar? with it being an armor buff would it not be a better clicky for a feral tank? [Furnace Stone]

What about [Sundial of the Exiled] for kitty dps? Yes the proc is useless, but 84 crit by itself should put it at least at the bottom of the list, especially if you're hit capped, which pushes Grim Toll and other hit trinkets off (or at least farther down) the list.

Would be nice to have it show up in Rawr too, but it doesn't.

I'm in the same boat as Murna, have no problem finding gear with hit on it, my problem is decent kitty trinkets without hit refuse to drop... in this case, [Sundial of the Exiled] may not be that bad of an option.

84 crit from a clearly caster trinket is a horrible option considering [Battlemaster's Hostility] and [Titan-Forged Rune of Cruelty] are obvious upgrades in that area. [Darkmoon Card: Berserker!], [Darkmoon Card: Death], [Incisor Fragment], [Meteorite Whetstone] all rank even higher, and even while hit capped, [Grim Toll] is still your ~6th best trinket (depending on current ArP)

Honestly you should also be having no problem finding gear without +Hit on it, it's in your best interest to do so if you already have the Grim Toll.
