This is my first raid in something other than 4p t8. Was holding out for certain items off of hardmode anub. This is raiding with a 258 chest piece and hardmode reign of the dead.

Ok, i'm trying to figure out what i'm doing wrong in that I can never seem to consistently break the 4k dps barrier on fights.

I'm linking my latest WWS log from the Beasts fight in TOC 25. I've read up on everything, changed my talents around a bit, and even changed the rotation slightly. Any help would be appreciated :P

1. Minimise all movement. You'd be surprised how much an extra step can cost you in DPS.
2. Try to get a 2P T8 into your set (Head/Legs perhaps). I'm not in any way saying Head/Legs are the best 2P of T8 you can have (do not have a go at me about it). Simply, 2P T8 is better than having 2 offset pieces.

i. Use this in conjunction with WiseEclipse for maximum effect

3. You have Typhoon, use it while moving.
4. Use your CD's ASAP, especially on Beasts. Personally I open with FF -> Trees -> Starfall -> Normal Rotation. Gives tanks time for threat and allows better use of cooldowns throughout the fight. In phase 3 use them when Icehowl is up against the wall. In your WWS I see about 2 starfall casts where there should be aproximately 5.

That's just at a quick glance, hope it helps.

First time poster long time reader.

Hello everyone, I have been looking through the logs posted by other boomkins and i am having problems finding out why my DPS is always on the lower end of our 25 man. I think it may be the fact that as a ranged DPS i have to switch to adds during the fight and reapply FF and MF while trying to maintain my eclipse.

Please take a look at my gear as well, Any suggestions welcome.
i do have access to other 10 man heroic gear and normal 25 man gear as well.

Your gear is fine as is, using a 2/2 Teir setup as recommended.

Another thinket instead of Talismen of Resurgence would be ideal.

You should pick up the insectswarm glyph over the innervate glyph, if you find you have mana problems, swap a point or two out of Gale Winds and put it into Intensity.

Minimise all movement. If you don't absolutely have to move, don't.

Use cooldowns as soon as possible(within reason), OUTSIDE of eclipse. You still gain more dps benifit from using the eclipse buff than using a cooldown. Ideally use the cooldowns while running.

If the dot the benifits your eclipse falls off with more than ~11s left on the eclipse buffs, refresh the DoT.

Give those a try and see how you go.

Thanks for the advise, I have switched to a 2p8/2p9 setup and will be looking for a different trinket to swap out.

It shows that you landed just as many moonfires as insect swarms. This should not be happening. Insect swarm does 7k damage for 1gcd. If you have NG up, that's 7k dps. It should go up asap every time(unless you're at the end of a starfire eclipse). It also shows that you have only a 69% crit rate with starfire. It should be 85+. You probably aren't using wiseeclipse. Download it. It improves your dps by a shitload. For the snobolds in Northrend Beasts, don't bother ffing them. Just dot them up and unload. They don't live long enough for the 3% crit to matter.

Your gear is almost exactly the same as mine but I manage to pull around 5.4-5.5 on beast attempts that get into Icehowl. My poor guild hasn't downed him yet though too many people like to enrage him...

Anyone has any tips to improve my dps just by looking at my log/armory? It seems I can't top dps meters.

As a moonkin, if you're in a guild with competent players of pure DPS classes (mage, lock, hunter, rogue), you shouldn't be able to top the meters. Don't feel like you have to be #1 on Recount to be doing the best you possibly can. I know that there are plenty of parses where I'm doing 7.5k DPS, even more, and I'm ~13th or 14th on our meters.

Just a quick once-over of your WMO shows you're not using starfall every cooldown, which you should. That won't totally solve your problem, but it'll help.

Gear:
Get crafted bracers (Lose hit-overflow)
Lose spirit
Upgrade your trinkets
Do _NOT_ gem an extra blue instead of a red to get a 6spirit bonus (No excuse for this)
Get a new necklace

A quick glance shows no huge flaws in your rotation except from the Starfall thing already mentioned.

thrillz : get something to replace Fetish, it is really, really bad for a moonkin.
If you don't have other option by now you could even buy the PvP one with spellpower, it will still be better.
Or you also could get Dying Curse as you are (a bit) short on hit, its proc is huge, and change your +hit gem for spellpower too, but this one could be tricky to get nowadays I guess.

Last thing : don't forget to enchant your cloack

I have barely been able to pay attention to so many forums, but I figured I'd jump in and offer help if anyone needs. I have some of the highest worlds dps as moonkin. Obviously, things went correctly my way in certain fights, but I have a strong grasp of whats going on. So I offer my assistance if anyone needs help.

Upon contemplation, I've come to the conclusion that this thread is nothing but a massive pile of rule 6 and 7 violations. As such, I'm closing it to avoid further generation of useless crap. If you'd like to make a coherent argument as to why it should be reopened, feel free to PM me, but given the generally low quality of posts it's been generating lately you're going to have a tough sell.
