I'm trying to help my guild's moonkin (and myself since we get a crapload of caster leather drops and moonkin seems better than feral for most fights) do better. I don't know if it's just bad luck with his Eclipse procs, but he just seems low overall compared to other moonkin, when looking at armory he should be at least comparable (-248 sp, +208 cr, -85 haste, counting the Illustration but not other trinkets, compared to Zanarhi)

There's my first WWS report on Patchwerk

6185 dps on him, forgot to use a speed pot because I'm dumb. Fight lasted 2'27" so not too shabby, considering My DK's and Warriors are selfish and won't refresh Battle Shout, or Horn of Winter for my treeants because they say it lowers DPS, even though I casted my trees a good 3-5 seonds before Heroism =(

PS: WTB Embrace of the Spider and Leash of Heedless Magic to drop :P

DK dps is really gcd tight so their complaint is fairly valid. Warriors can generally work it in with their cds but dont expect shout the instant they are up. Nice parse.

I saw that he applied a wrath eclipse. Probably under bloodlust with SF spam?
Also that he applied FF.

Edit: Wouldn't Ants with Bloodlust buff it some too? If he could support dropping 1 point from Intensity. Or all points and put into Gale Winds or Brambles.

I try helping a guildmember to at least compete with the other moonkins we have.
i only have a wws of patch in naxx10, hopefully anyone can give me a hint where her problem is.
i want to compare Vanja to Crailcorp.

the gear of the two moonkins is at the same level i think, i even think the gear of vanja (the "bad" moonkin) is a bit better. (she has to much hit i know. thats something she has to work on, but i don't think the dps differences can come from the differences in gear.) the castpriorities seem to be the same with both players, the average dmg their casts do is about the same...

as a warlock that is very interested in optimizing myself i can read wws, but i must say i have no idea what she is doing wrong. (at least compared to the other moonkin in the raid. if both make something wrong i don't see it because i have no idea how to play moonkin propperly...).

would be realy helpfull if anyone can point me to he right direction!

My dps is running around 4500 and from what I've read and armoried on other moonkins I feel it should be around 5500 with my DOT uptimes and damage ranges for starfire and wrath. Is this due in part from the boss kill taking so long or am I overlooking something more serious with my gameplay? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Well, at a quick glance, i see you did not use any potions. Are you flasked as well? The fight was probably about 30 sec. too long to achieve a higher DPS number. Players topping out at 5.5k+ are not doing it with raid buffs only. You'll need to use consumables.

Time to quit the myth that moonkins need fast kills for high dps -- Look through this thread for some Loatheb achievement kills if you're still stuck in the belief that 5k+ requires 2min kills.

5k in a 10min stand & nuke fight would be easily doable aswell.

It is definitely possible to run 5k on long fights -- but I do think the reason you're not seeing 5,5k + is because it's a long fight. All of the Epeening fights are 2mins longish -- see the earlier one in this thread with someone doing 6k? 2mins. Also it is important to look through the buffs list for tricks of the trade, etc. to see if there was other bloating of the numbers. And last, but not least, is luck. If you're looking at 28,000 ranked fights -- the top 10 will invariably have a lot of luck in them. Someone could have a 25% crit rate, but get lucky and crit 75% of the time, etc... and out of over 20k fights there will invariably be some luckier, and some less lucky, teams.

Also, for me personally, my dps drops 10% on weeks where I'm on a laptop traveling etc. -- latency and add-ons are a huge factor for many people. Make sure you're using the right ones.

Anub : 1.15 - 6.6k
Faerlina : 1.15 - 6.8k

Patchwerk was without special buffs & not really impressive crit either (SF 68%, W 42%) - Dropped treants 4-5seconds too soon, no battle shout.
Difference between Anub & Faerlina lies in eclipse RNG (Awesome on Faerlina, utterly shit during heroism on Anub).

Hello, i wold like to ask a few question about where do i get wrong in my dps and how come i can make less dps from yesterday`s Parchwerk than this one. As i remember there were a few difference in the raid group but i`m not sure that is so important (because it`s strange that i do less dps with elemental shamy in the raid than without ).The rotation i`m doing is MF -> IIS -> SF untill Eclipse proc than Wrath(the one thing i`m not sure about is do i have to reapply MF and IFF when Eclipse is active or not)

Again my new personal record (even more satisfying that it was an Immortal run with my new guild )

The raid before yesterday (last Sunday) i managed to up my DPS more then usual which made me a happy cow, but for yesterdays raid im going slight emo, reaching 5k+ DPS and i am still behind several people, just look at our elemental shaman :x
When will the random DPS due to Eclipse be fixed? Blizzard and their removal of RNG feels likes BS, well atleast they removed that from Starfall >_>

I got Tier 7.5 Legs and Idol yesterday, the Idol was (ofc) used after Instructor Raz and i got the legs done before Sarth + Maly.

For average SF damage: You have two procs of "Now is the Time!", 590/10s.
She has three procs of Dying Curse, 765/10s.

You have Wrath idol. She has SF idol.

She has Dragon Soul (200 +spell above what is shown in armory).

Her IS ticks averaged 58 more than yours. That corresponds to a +spell difference of about 290.

290 spell damage, plus the SF idol, is worth roughly 700 damage on a non-crit SF.

She had five Eclipse procs. You had four.

And the fact that she had flask while i did not (should be a rough 180 spelldmg there too(both alchemists)) which nets us around 1k. Thank you.

hello.. i have been reading most off the threads about how to make the best rotation and so on and i still
have problems with my dps on patchwork and in generally on most bosses in naxx to get high dps..
on the last naxx i was in i did 3,9 k dps on patch and i could not even push it further and i used speed pot
and treants when there was bloodlust and my eclipse proc perfect.

When you look at the dmg my moonfire have done in the wws report it says 5,6 k dmg and i have compared it with
other boomkins who easily do 50-60 k dmg so i must be doing something wrong with my moonfire and it
must also be the reason why i can´t get it higher than 3,9 k dps. If you look under the average dot tick
on my MF it says 116.. i do not understand why it can be that low when they other moonkin in my guild is on
1211 dot tick in average.

Info: Glyph of moonfire. Glyph of starfire. Glyph of Insect swarm. theys should be the best for most optimal dps

rotation: Imp ff - IS - MF - Wrath - when eclipse proc i do starfire until it ends, then i refresh IS - MF and
while the the CD is up on eclipse i spam starfire then rinse and repeat.

1. I think that my problem hear is that when the CD on eclipse is over i refrsh IS - MF but im clipping the moonfire
so it dosent run out even though there is mayby 5-8 sec back off it .. is it wrong to clip MF and not let it run out ..

2. i also heard another boomkin said to me that no matter what i should have moonfire up 100 % off the time.

i really need some help on what i should do with moonfire in my rotation ..

Are you using the right rank of Moonfire?

We're still debating clipping MF when the Eclipse cooldown ends.

You have another Moonkin in your group who's doing good DPS, so he should be able to help you some.

No he is not, he is using rank 7, rank 14 is the max rank. Pull out your max rank MF to your bar and try again.

Also, on MF, I am in favor of letting MF complete, if you clip the last tick you lose ~1200 damage, so refreshing in the last 3 seconds seems to be a waste unless you are going to move away from the target and not be able to refresh it.

For instance, on Sarth when Tenebron lands I refresh my MF on Sarth since I will be leaving him for DPS to make sure I get a full duration MF ticking on him even though I am not there.

It's more about whether it's better to MF twice per cycle to maintain 100% uptime without giving up Eclipse time, which entails a lot of clipping.
