I can see [Idol of the Corruptor] being best if you have to do mangles, since you won't do as many shreds and because the bonus is solid. What I'm asking now is simply whether 200 agility with a near 100% uptime trumps 203 shred damage if it is put up on most mangles and shreds?
|
If you have to mangle because you don't have a manglebot or trauma, Corruptor is better dps than the shred idol. Your question was answered numerous times. Are you assuming it is better to swap idols during combat?

Pretty sure he's asking, in 3.2 when we have access to a 200 agi idol, what will be the comparison between it and the shred idol. Obviously a manglebot will prefer the Idol of Mutilation, but is 200 agi better than 203 shred damage? A few questions apply: what's your crit rate? If full T9max players already have 60%+ crit, there's going to be a drop off on the value of agi, plus longer rake dot means more shreds, favoring the shred idol. On the other hand, we might be dropping 2T8 and getting fewer shreds, or the itemization might favor rip-centric rather and shred-centric rotations. My gut feeling says 200 agi>200 damage on one attack, but the best answer is a simulator result.
|
Thanks for the clarification Jone. Like Jone said, the simulator would have to handle such a question.

That's correct; I wasn't interested in what the performance of Idol of the Corruptor was (which I knew) - I was interested in whether anyone had done any analysis on Idol of Mutilation (especially when you don't need to mangle personally) and what those values were. I apologize for any lack of clarity.
I know that if you assume 100% uptime Rawr values it as the best idol. What I don't know is whether 100% uptime is reasonable (there is some evidence that it has a lower proc rate on shreds), and whether with higher shred amounts (such as with 2pT9 or 4pT8) you will be better off improving shreds, and what overall value that is.

The Proc for Idol of Mutilation is listed as a 70% chance to proc with a 16 second duration
Doing some very rough math, that's 1.33 Mangles and 2.18 Shreds (based on 3 Shreds/22 seconds and thus not counting OOC, TF, Berserk giving extras) on average. giving ~3.5 attacks per 16s or .22 attacks per second. This gives a 98.56% uptime. Since we aren't actually attacking at exact intervals, it's going to be a little bit lower, but extra shreds will keep it well within 95%-100% uptime.

Was having an issue with version 3.240 tonight whilst doing Uld10.
I also use EventHorizon and it seemed FBN was showing the rake icon when the dot was still on the target.
I have not changed any of the settings since installing the latest version.
Edit: Did Uld25 and the problem did not reoccur, may have been an issue with having only just updated.

For those of us still under the armor pen cap(stupid weapons never dropping). how would the new trinket out of the regular 5 man be as a replacement to using grim toll? i can't link it right, it's called banner of victory, 84 passive armor pen and procs 1008 ap for 10 seconds.

Banner of Victory, according to Rawr, is better than Mirror of Truth by about 40 DPS but worse than Darkmoon:Greatnesss. It also loses to Comet's Trail. It's a pretty solid trinket, but it doesn't come anywhere close to [Mjolnir Runestone]. Depending on how close you are to the hit cap, it could be close to [Grim Toll]. If you can use all the hit from Grim, it won't be, but it's fairly comparable otherwise.

yeah, if stuff ever dropped i'd have had the runestone for a while now. woo for bad luck with drops and rolls. I was thinking about it as a DM:G replacement to help me hit the arpen cap.

Looks to me it goes wrong on the check to see if you're standing on Ignis's Scorch. Maybe this spell got changed in 3.2 causing this line to malfunction now...

I tried the two most recent versions of FBN and got no suggestion frame from either version. The placeholder frame shows up when I unlock the frames, but it disappears when the frames are locked.

All ferals might want to pick one up anyway. With epic gems, blacksmithing(if you have it), jewelcrafting(if you have it) and the new gear, there's a lot of ArP. Even with Rawr's incomplete 245 item database(and no 258 items), stacking passive ArP and no runestone/grim toll is better dps. Once you get into the 950 ArP range, Banner of Victory becomes a very good trinket. Caveat: Rawr doesn't have any of the new trinkets besides this one.
Even if a new ArP proc trinket shows up, it will probably be too restrictive such that you'll be pushing the soft cap from new gear.

All Cats and Bears I know that use this(and we all love it) are not getting any info since 3.2. No move suggest or stats. This is easily the greatest feral addon in history. Don't want to see it go away.

For all other people having trouble with FbN since 3.2 commenting out line 3156 has so far managed to get move suggestion and prediction working for me, although I've only tried it on a dummy not sure if it'll work as smoothly in a raid. Thanks for the great addon.

I attempted to do this and either I messed it up or there are other interactions with other mods that are causing the Suggestion HUD to not display properly.
To be clear though I used the Notepad2 linked above and simply added in two hyphens "--" like so (no quotes) at the very beginning of line 3156. Still no go on the add-on.
The error I receive is as follows:
FeralbyNight-3.239\FeralbyNight.lua:3700: Usage: UnitDebuff("unit", [index] or ["name", "rank"][, "filter"])
FeralbyNight-3.239\FeralbyNight.lua:3700: in function `BossauraMonitor'
FeralbyNight-3.239\FeralbyNight.lua:3132: in function `OnUpdate'
FeralbyNight-3.239\FeralbyNight.lua:2138: in function <Interface\AddOns\FeralbyNight\FeralbyNight.lua:2137>
EDIT: I changed my comment line to 3132 instead of 3156 and it worked. I suppose it depends on version. I'll report any further issues as I find them.
