I've read the whole thread and the moonkin raiding thread. Also searched through the forum. I have been unable to find the final aswer to this question:
Should 2 x T8 be replaced with T9 lvl232 anytime or as soon as possible?
In the opening post of this thread it is stated that moonkins should aim quickly to 2 x T9, yet by reading this thread it seems T8 set bonus might be too valuable for DPS to be replaced. I don't think I will be getting T9 lvl245 pieces any time soon and most likely never T9 LVL258. I've got otherwise decent gear lvl219 - 245. LVL245 chest & head, LVL232 shoulders (not tier sets).
My earlier post to this thread was mistakely removed by forum admin, but this is a legimate question it seems, because I am unable to find a clear answer and I've spent hours and hours trying to find an answer. There are contradicting opinions.
"2)" is the point you are interested, and this is the way it has to be
Ah lol, I guess search doesn't include signatures .. you guys should post that in the 1st post/reply anyways instead of the signature... I don't Im not the first one to not notice that, since signatures do not usually include this kind of useful information.
There was a section on set bonuses in the OP as well. Slightly dated, since I've been focusing on the TTT article (sig) more, but still answers the question accurately.

LOL... I just read your sig for the first time, ***** advice. I also like that you start with 0.
Quick question, and I am not asking for too much hand holding, BUT. What would you guys suggest for a player that doesn't have access to iLVL 226 T8 pieces because my guild doesn't run 25 man-ulduar (we only do 10 man content)? Thus, the only source for iLVL 226 T8 2p bonus is with the two pieces available via Emblems of Conquest. This gives me three options:
1.) Use the two Emblem of Conquest pieces and get T9 2p from pieces other than the head and chest.
OR
2.) Use the T9 Head and Chest and have NO T8 2p :-(
OR
3.) Use T8 iLVL 219 gear + 2p T9 Head and Chest
I am currently running with option 1, but am becoming tired of it...
Edit:
***** = 5 star, not some lame censored curse word
I would use T9 Head and Chest and use T8 219 Shoulder + gloves (as there is not that many item points on these 2 pieces, so the difference isn't that big with the 226)

I'm in the same 10slot boat as you are. I've picked up two trophies from Anub HC 10man and I'm now saving up emblems for my second piece of 245 T9.
I ran the numbers with the following:
Head/Chest 245 T9 and Leg/Hand 219 T8
vs
Head/Chest 226 T8 (conquest badge) and Leg/Hand 245 T9
Taking the 219 Leg/Hand still comes out on top, and it has the added bonus of being available from VoA25, you can still get lucky and eventually pickup those two pieces of 226 ilvl.
(above assumes NrB Heroic shoulders as offset)
So don't be afraid of wearing 219 stuff, it's still better - and you've got a *chance* from VoA of upgrading to the 226 versions.
Personally, I got lucky and got the gloves from VoA - but am still stuck with 219 legs.
*Note if you're checking my armory - it currently shows a messed up setup of 232 T9 Helm and 219 T8 Shoulders whilst I save the last few emblems for my 245 Helm, trophy is waiting in my bags.

Thanks for the insight. What is the motivation for using the T8.219 legs over the shoulders as was previously mentioned? Also, is anybody else finding hit a little hard to come by in our situation?
I tried all those combinations on Rawr and it rated war + mithril pocketwatch as highest burst/sustained damage points. Does Rawr take the /use of [Fetish of Volatile Power] into account because it seems Rawr undervalues this item pretty much. Also wich 2 trinkets would you recommend me to use?
There are a few posts within moonkin EJ threads that detail the fact that Fetish of Volatile Power is not a viable option over something such as Mithril Pocketwatch or Abyssal Rune. In short, it is due to the need to stack the buff you gain over time instead of recieving an instant buff. The stack over time does not work very well when a player is soft haste capped(as you are) as the best time to use the trinket would be during lunar eclipse, but you would have to be very lucky with your predictions to use it without encroaching on the solar eclipse while using the full effect during lunar.
Mithril Pocketwatch and Mark of the War Prisoner are the best 2 trinkets for you at this time. You need mark to keep your hit rating up, this is the most valuable stat to gain until the hit cap. Because you are soft haste cappped (~400 -- varies with latency etc) crit is then valued slightly better than haste beyond that point.
For proper calculations you can search this very thread or one of the following websites:

You lose a lot of dps by relying on a trinket slot for +hit. Honestly, you need to look for a better place to get it, perhaps [Firestorm Band] or [Boots of the Icy Floe]. Then you can have Abyssal Rune and Mithril Pocketwatch until you can get [Reign of the Dead]. You also should probably be using 2T8/2T9, so if you have the T8 gloves that'd be another source of +hit to tap into.
Fetish of Volatile Power is very weak for us. There are some ways to get the most out of the trinket (like using Starfall to ramp up the bonus quickly at the start) but honestly it's just not useful for a moonkin. Both the Pocketwatch and Rune will get you more dps and reduce the amount of cooldowns you need to be watching.
Allright so I checked in every single thread regarding moonkins and seems like I cannot find what I'm looking for. At the moment, the principal goal of most end-game raiding guilds is to defeat Anub in 25man heroic mode.
During that encounter, hurricane is very important for moonkins and is the spell that will be channeled the most. I read & heard everywhere that clearcasted / ng' hurricanes are a big dps / mana improvement.
So here is my question: Anyone know an addon that will let you know very clearly when you get a NG's proc? Not a lil box of text that you will be probably too busy to look at.. I mean a sound or a text flashing in red.. yah know?
(Yes I'm too lazy to look at all my buffs & try to find the NG's proc before each hurricane).
Another question: Seems like I cannot find this answer either. Should we cast IS + MF on all 4 mobs before starting to hurricane?

Thank you.
You could configure grid to display in the centre Icon the NG logo.
Alternatively, a decent combat text addon will suffice.

TellMeWhen can give you a big icon when you get selected buffs.
This Dreambound-Druid post shows several Power Auras settings. Includes screenshots of OoC and NG.
To be perfectly honest, it's a moot point, whether or not you have a OoC proc or NG is up, you will still have to aoe when adds are up.
The DPS requirement to Anub is fairly easy to hit, the mana requirement can be supplemented with mana pot (if you're not using frost prot pot), innervate and mana tide.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was looking for! This will suit me perfectly.
P.S: What do you mean by dps requirement for a moonkin?

My overall dps is going between 8-9k atm but it's still very low compared to feral druids / ret pals / rogues /mages who can easily go up to 12-13k with the same gearscore.
That's why I tried to get some informations here about the exact rotation and how to improve my dps even more. :\
But once again, TellMeWhen is perfect for me so far! big thx
I have been using [Eye of the Broodmother] and [Pandora's Plea], I just recently picked up [Talisman of Resurgence] for my resto gear but I decided to give it a go with my Moonkin set and I liked the burst results with popping [Potion of Speed] and the proc on my first Lunar Eclipse but I'm still not happy with my overall damage.
Truly I think its my Trinkets as most of the rest of my gear is ilvl 232 or higher I apologize but I'm stumped as to were I can get some more Sustained damage If its not the Trinkets then I'm not sure of a quick fix or if there even is a quick fix I will be pushing to get [Reign of the Unliving] but after that what should I go with I'm sure I will get [Abyssal Rune] but I'm little above soft haste cap already... I think I probably need to do a total overhaul to my gear...
Some of you strongly believed that early cancellation of the lunar eclipse would let you cast SF with the enhanced crit, thus enabling you to more likely proc solar. Some of you believed cancellation of the lunar eclipse killed the enhanced crit chance.

Were the different opinions resolved?
Completely, it's a big dps increase. There's a mod called WiseEclipse that will automate it for you.
Hey, if you are a bad like me and can't yet cycle through the eclipse rotation consistently (i.e. you have trouble with movement, refreshing dot's etc), is it better to simply go for four piece tier 9 (lvl245)? I will only lose 20dps on the spreadsheet, but i'm consistently falling about 600 dps below what the spreadsheet says.
If I therefore take some of the 'skill' requirement out (and the tier 8 2 piece bonus does reward good play) then shouldn't my dps go up? For the T9 bonus is just a flat increase, while the tier 8 requires you to be really hitting those eclipses consistently..
edit: oh in case anyone is wondering, the bits i will replace are gloves and chest. I don't have access to lvl 226 gloves.

It sounds like you're not tracking your dots/procs with an addon which would get anyone lost in their rotation with everything going on in a fight. Also sounds like you're not using Wise Eclipse.
With Wise Eclipse you should fairly consistently hit the solar proc coming out of the lunar one. Unless you're really not tracking your timers and refreshing dots right at the transition and thus working against the addon. With the addon, you only have to worry about hitting one proc the lunar one.
I can't speak about your gearing question but I can advise that certain addons can improve the performance problems you speak of.
