Actually Royalite I have dottimers and wiseelcipse and saa so its not a mod problem. Like hitting it on a target dummy or static fights like beasts, voa etc is relatively easy.

But I get really distracted and stressed out in heavy movement fights and with lots of different targets. Probably because i've just started playing again after a two year break and previously only healed in raids.

But the reason for not hitting those rotations consistently is not what I was posting about.

If 'spreadsheet' dps between the two bonuses is relatively similar (e.g. for me its about 20 dps), shouldn't noobs like myself go for the consistent, requires-less-skill bonus?

In fact, if the difference between the two sets is only max 20-50dps, why would you not just go for the t9 bonus anyway and make your dps more consistent through rotation screw-ups? Assuming of course you have nothing else spectacular to spend the badges/trophies on (like myself)

Anyone else catch the blue post on nerfing the elemental shaman t9 set bonus? About a bonus being so powerful that people don't want to upgrade?

I kind of found that funny.

It doesn't matter to us at this point. Losing the 2T8 during T9 content would have mattered, since it was still responsible for a meaningful DPS bump. But it's no longer noticeably better (and possibly not better at all) once much T10 is in play. The temporary buff Moonkin got the in form of 2T8 has now faded out, regardless of whether they nerf it or not.

I noticed that too. They said they nerfed the old shaman tier set due to players not upgrading but I wonder how many moonkins are not wearing 4t9. Maybe it wasn't as bad with moonkins though cause at least we were upgrading to 2t9 instead of ignoring all together. Arawethion is right though, nerfing it now would be moot.

On a similar note speaking of class philosophies that moonkins appear to be the exception to. Their dps mod add-on mantra gave me a chuckle as well.

"We don't want to see the 'How to play a rogue FAQ' that starts 'Step One. Download the weapon swapping add-on.'"
MMO-Champion BlueTracker - "Rogue weapon swapping isn't a big deal"

And Arawethion's step one is "1) Maintain high DoT uptime. Use WiseEclipse."

This I am counting the days on that one though. I don't think Blizzard is going to let WiseEclipse last for much longer due to the manipulation of the game mechanics and the popularity the add-on has been receiving. And of course because Arawethion made it step one. (I kid =p)

WiseEclipse isn't necessary to take advantage of that - doing it with one macro is only slightly harder. Even if cancelaura were on the restricted list, it'd still be quite reasonable to pull off. Arawethion says to use WiseEclipse because it's somewhat easier, and doesn't need as much explanation as using a macro.

It's a variation on the frost mage's ghost shatter mechanic, which they were ok with; I don't think they'll feel any need to fix it unless Balance druids start dominating the charts somehow.

Edit: A solution for them occurred to me; they could have the eclipses cause 15s cooldowns on each other, as well as 30s on themselves.

I see the problem more in that you have to use it to be competitive in the charts, weapon swapping is also easily done with macros

What is the spell hit cap without 'Balance of Power' -talent? Is it 263 or 341? To maximize DPS should ppl discard 'Balance of Power' -talent, since 263 or 341 hit rating is quite easy to get?

0/2 Balance of Power - 368
1/2 Balance of Power - 315
2/2 Balance of Power - 263

It would be very hard to justify not taking this talent because there is no where you are going to move those points to make up the DPS you are losing in stats.

If you can't avoid gear with too much hit on it, you can drop that talent briefly. But you're trading haste rating, crit rating, or spirit for that extra hit on gear; fix it as soon as you can, even if it means dropping some ilevel.

I have two questions about dps rotation, especially in 5 man dungeons but in raid as well.
1.What should i use, which order, because when i come along with other players with high dps, it's quite a loss to cast MF and IS on targets, they burn down mobs before i can cast 1-2 wrath, or starfire.
2.It's not quiet clear for me, how to start rotation, MF->IS->wrath until eclipsee, or starfire?

1. I skip dots altogether when the target isn't likely to live more than 10 seconds. Moonfire may be the exception since its interaction with the 245 idol gives me a huge boost to crit.
2. MF-IS-W-LE-SF-SE-W is probably best for most encounters and boss fights. However, if the target may have a very short lifespan, I generally go for a solar eclipse since its much easier to start up.

Honestly on 5-man trash nowadays I don't think you can go wrong, I tend to just throw a couple of dots around at pull on the non-primary targets and hit whatever damage spell I feel like, Starfire if the mob will still be alive when I finish casting or Wrath if it is about to die. Trying to do an optimal rotation on 5-man trash just results in a headache for no major benefit!

Is clipping a DoT (e.g. last 3 secs) worth it when [Flare of the Heavens] is up?

I think the answer to your question is tricky depending on situation. Not math based i would say that clipping a dot has 3sec left and when flare of heavens is about to fall off is allright when you are not trying to proc eclipse. If you have more time left on the flare of heavens proc then you can maybe judge for yourselve when it would be best to refresh the dot.
