Hi, I post this question here in order not to disturb the topic of Astryliyan (Cataclysm Bear Theorycraft ), but the numbers in it are only for Cataclysm ? Because I ran some tests on live servers ( 4.0 ) and they didn't match with what he gave.

And my second question is, where can I find the same topic for 4.0 ? Specially about the threat bonus of Lacerate which is quite difficult to have in game.

For bears in 4.0.1, does anyone have a simple list kicking around of the priority order for stats and what some of the caps may be, aka Stam>agi>mastery type of thing

I had it all figured out ok, but now with all the changes and the addition of reforging it seems a lot more complicated.

You can find 4.0.1 Bear info in the forum thread below labeled "[WOTLK 4.0] Bear Discussion" As for most ferals, it's not as easy as a simple stat priority. The weight you give to each stat really depends on the content you intend to run and the stats your gear is already providing. General concensus for reforging, as far as I have seen, is to move haste into mastery when you can (Assuming certain caps are already reached, like hit/expertise)

EDIT: Adding the link to the above mentioned thread. Sorry for the long URL, I am still familarizing myself with EJ tags

Hi, quick question about OOC. Is it a bug, that its not consumed if you cast hurricane? The wording implies that it should: "cost of your next cast-time damaging or healing spell or offensive feral ability by 100%" I could imagine that it pretty sucks on fights like halion hc, where your actually need to use hurricane very often during the fight and only way to do it and not to go oom as moonkin was using the ooc proc.

Don't take my word on it, but (by the description you have given) this would not necessarily apply to hurricane. The reason for this is that hurricane is a channel spell, and not a cast-time spell (ex. Healing Touch). For instance, when you recieve OOC and use a heal, it is casted instantly. Casting hurricane instantly might be more hilarious then it would be beneficial.

In regards to Resto in CATA:

It's pretty much been established that especially in 25mans, mastery is fairly unattractive. My question is simply, what is the new stat priority? As it is now, we essentially ensure we have 1016 haste and stack int.

In cata, we still stack int as the primary stat will always be better than gemming pure haste/crit, but when reforging should be be getting all haste or crit? I know that haste is a lot better when you reach the breakpoints (915 for extra RJ, 12xx for extra LB, but is it worth obtaining those breakpoints in lue of crit?)

Quick resto question about looking at a WoL parse - what do each of the three "Rejuvenation" spells stand for? I am guessing they are the 1) actual ability, 2) the t10 proc, and 3) the initial heal that each provides, but I'm not certain.

The parse is here: World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis

The first one is the Rejuvenation spell itself, the second one (4th spot on "Healing by spell") the instant tick (it has the same buff gained numbers on the targets as your main Rejuvenation), and the 3rd one is the t10 proc (9th spot on "Healing by spell", small number of affected players, other numbers of buffs gained per targets).

/edit: For clarification to differentiate between the 3 spells:

- The normal Rejuvenation is the only one that can have crit ticks (unless the 4t10 proc spell gets fixed in that direction)
- The GotEM initial tick does not have an uptime, since its an instant one-time tick for each normal Rejuvenation. There are no crit ticks aswell.
- The 4t10 proc does have an uptime, but no crit ticks.

Hello,

My question pertains to professions in Cataclysm. What do you think is the ideal combination of professions for a Restoration Druid?

Currently, I have Inscription/Tailoring. Inscription provides roughly the same amount of Intellect as the rest of the crafting professions, but Tailoring is debatable in my opinion. While it is true the cloak enchant provides a significant mana return, Intellect is considered a regen stat in Cataclysm (more mana from Innervate, Replenishment, etc) as well increased spellpower. So my question is does the mana return from the Tailoring cloak enchant outweigh the Intellect gained from other professions?

Thanks in advance!

We haven't explicitly talked about this much on the Resto thread, actually, as far as I recall. Leatherworking is defintely strong. Beyond that, it's a bit tricky. Engineering was always attractive due to Nitros, but those seem to be nerfed now. Other than that, BS/JC/Alch/Inscription/Enchanting are roughly the same. Tailoring is probably weak. I'll probably post in this in more detail soon.

Leveling with Cata

Hi,

I didn't found an answer somewhere else, so I try this section:
At this moment I'm specced Resto/Balance. I'm thinking about dropping Balance and taking Feral for the leveling phase. I hope to have fewer downtimes while leveling.
What do you think? Equip is nearly the same (around a GS of 6k).

Thanks from Germany

Knowing nothing about Feral, I'd give a strong guess that it's better merely due to 30% run speed. That's a benefit that's hard to top for leveling. If you were asking about mana though, I don't think it's a major issue for leveling Balance.
