Moonkin have it easy, since both Bash and Maim are available. NE Resto Druids have it harder, since they don't have Furor. Just DPS hard and land one good interrupt.

When I want to be safe I use Bash as an interrupt. But I've killed the spirit multiple times with just straight dps, though your RNG has to be decent (or use a cooldown).

So far I've been in the Frostmourne room once :P and luckily I had Typhoon unglyphed (after Saurfang I noticed I'm out of glyphs ^^). Anyway, I generally would advise keeping unglyphed Typhoon for LK at least normal - the knockback can be really handy for Vile Spirits (better than simply slowing them down what I did so far) - and you don't really need to use Typhoon in phases where the knockback would be not appreciated (like phase 1).

I keep a stack of Typhoon glyphs in my bag and you can Shift+Right Click to remove the glyph at any time, even during combat.

I have a question that has been bugging me for some time now, and I never really got around to testing it. I've searched for the answer elsewhere, so I apologize if this is redundant.

I assume that Starfall's range, with Nature's Reach, should be 36 yards as indicated by the mouseover text in game. However, when I stand at max range (wrath/SF/MF/IS/FF can all be cast) and pop Starfall, no stars hit the target. I noticed it during LK, but confirmed it on dummies in IF. I must admit I didn't thoroughly test why this might be happening (meaning I didn't unlearn nature's reach and try to get a more quantitative value for what the range ACTUALLY is) because I thought that there might be some sort of stock answer that most people were aware of that just happens to escape me. The actual range of Starfall seems to be pretty close to 36 yards (my guess is 34 or 35) which I just observe by popping it at max range (36 yds as confirmed by a range check using other spells) and taking tiny steps toward a target until stars start falling.

Is this working as intended? Or is it a known bug? Is there something about the spell mechanic that I just don't know?

Single target casts check range between the edges of the casters hitbox and the target's hitbox. Starfall most likely uses the point blank AoE mechanic which calculates range using the distance from the center of your hitbox to the edge of the target's hitbox. The distance from the edge of your hitbox to the center of your hitbox is probably the exact distance you have to move forward before stars will start hitting your target, given you started at max range for single target casts.

I have to say, I have been incredibly impressed by Heroic Phylactery and what it has done for my DPS, especially in regards to tree damage.

The big chunk of spell damage on a 1.5 minute cooldown completely lines up for trees, and changes my tree damage per cast from roughly 45-50k to 70-75k. It is pretty incredible with both that and DFO in terms of starfall and trees.

I had to replace my regular reign with it, but I have to say, I was shocked at how much better it played for me.

So, I dropped BS for engineering. Mostly I did it for boots enchant, but I would really love activating my gloves on time.
To keep it simple, let's imagine a macro I would press each time Lunar Eclipse procs:

/use 10
/cast Starfire

Now, what happens to me, is that when i press this macro it all works perfectly, but if I am smashing buttons, like most of us do when dpsing, the gloves won't be used. Imagine you have 3 seconds left until your gloves come off CD. You begin smashing this macro non-stop, Starfires are cast, but gloves are never used, 5 seconds or even an hour later. I believe this happens because when I press macro gloves are unusable because my GCD is busy, but next spell is still qued and fired right after current one, so when i press macro next time it all repeats again

Currently as it is for me: I get lunar eclipse, I have go check if gloves are off CD (another thing to look at ain't doing good for overall dps), if they are on CD I continue to dps as usual, if they are off CD I have to make a pause after casting that last wrath, make sure gcd is over (my wrath is <1s) and only then press gloves macro. Please share your experience with me, or tell me what I'm doing wrong, as for now this was a dps loss profession for me (

Not as far as I know. You cannot target the reticule, you can only pull up the reticule to place it. You still have to click the trees down.

Agreed, as far as I know you can't do this with in-game scripting. I did just buy a Razer Naga, though, and using it's macroing facility you can script keypress/click such that trees get cast where ever you had your mouse pointer. It's an $80 mouse, though, and a bit of a sledgehammer for a finishing nail.

You can use AutoHotKey to achieve that (and spaming a spell without breaking your keyboard) without spending $80 in a mouse, last time I checked with a GM, it was legal.

Not exactly. Though, I still use AutoHotKey as an attempt to completely eliminate any error in DPS that latency can give me. They can't exactly detect using it :/

Hello all, I have a question regarding starfall and delaying it to gain greater benefit against some bosses (most against LK and deathbringer). The question I ask is, how long can you delay the starfall before its a dps lose. I cant seem to get my heads around the calculations.

Why are you smashing your macro buttons for a spell with a so long cast-time?
Just use Quartz for example, and get used to cast your next spell during the latency time frame. You will see your SPS (Stress per second ) decreasing significantly!

Personally, I've bound my Wrath to Wheel Down and Starfire to Wheel Up, and used a modifier for my Gloves/Trinket Macros. Smooth!
