Properly gem and enchant everything, starting with your ranged weapon. There's no reason whatsoever for it not to have a scope on it. Work on getting hunter gear, as some of your gear isn't. Gems/enchants should be agi, then hit, then crit for you IMO. Work on getting your hit up, its extremely low (142 is cap for BM). Fix your spec by taking one point out of Endurance Training and one out of Frenzy and put them both in Animal Handler. That should get you started.

Ok was wondering if someone could give me some input on what I can do to maximize my DPS in raids. Right now I'm currently using a 0/39/22 spec. I found this spec to give me a larger amount of attack power in place of silencing shot for an extra 2 points in SV. Wish I could post an armory link here, but armory seems to be bugged for me at the moment. If anybody could take some time and look into my profile (Baccon, 70 Night Elf Hunter, Staghelm, US) and tell me some things I can do to help, that would be great. Little input on my guild, we are currently in BT/MH and have 4/9 BT and 4/5 MH for my gear choices. Thanks again for looking into this and taking time outta your day to do so.

Hey few quick points on your gear/spec. It would be a big help to have a WWS from one of your raid nights. What kind of group setup are you normally in? Shot rotation? Also what pet do you use? Without that information I have a few quick key points to give you a hand.
1) Pick a spec. You are just breaking the crust to the worth while talent points in surv for raiding and then you run out of talent points. essentially you are spending 22 talent points to get 4% atp, 3% hit and humanoid slaying. Seems like a poor trade doesn't it? As a comparison you could be spending those 22 points in BM for IAotH, 2% damage(also 20% KC crit) 20% pet damage, 10% pet crit, and 100% extra focus regen. Or you could take part of that and get some missed MM talents like the 2% missed RAP from Master Marksman(there goes 2 of the 4% from your 22 points) GftT, IHM and the lesser useful Combat experience. All 3 trees for hunters have a spot in a raid at the moment, you just need to pick one and get the correct compliment to it(Survival is never the right answer here. this is not pre-BC and pets no longer suck). I would suggest looking for a good build in the respective MM, BM or SV threads for a build that suits your play style.
2) As mentioned earlier pets are now a big chunk of hunter DPS and should be used by all specs. Also mentioned was that you are missing GftT. This is one of those talents(like lethal/mortal shots) that should be in every single hunter talent build. It is simply a very large pet, and thus hunter, DPS increase in the 3rd tier for only 2 talent points it should never be skipped. Ever.
3) From my brief glance at your gear I notice that you seem to be too reliant on hitting socket bonuses. don't focus on that too much. Get 2 blue and 2 yellow in and then put the rest 8/10 agi gems. If you notice for my gear the only non agi gems I use are 5 crit 7 stam in my shoulder to activate the meta and get that one socket bonus, it is simply the best way to go.
4) Head on over to the spreadsheet thread and download Cheeky's amazing spreadsheet and play around with different talents, gems, rotations and pretty much anything else to give yourself a feel of what will give you the biggest net DPS increase and what wont. You will find it will give you the biggest idea of what you should and shouldn't be doing.
Well thats all I have for now. With the other information I mentioned perhaps I could give a little more insight but at the moment this is all I have.

You may want to consider replacing your T4 helm with S3. The stats on S3 are better than T4 by quite a bit and its very easy to get.

Hi all,
I was wondering which scope is better between the crit one and the +12 damage (i'm hit capped so the hit scope does not interest me much). So I went on this forum but I just found tons of hunts assuming the crit scope is better and failed to find a comparison. I suppose such post exists and I'm just lacking of skill using the search tool. Can one of you point it for me please ?

Actually you won't find many people around here assuming anything. For my current gear these are the dps numbers I get from Cheeky's spread sheet. I recommend you download a copy for yourself and check it out.
[Khorium Scope] 1165.54
[Stabilized Eternium Scope] 1173.44

So, this is probably somewhere on this thread, but theres over 100 pages and...well, yeah...
Anyways, I'm a cookie cutter spec BM hunter in mostly T5-T6 gear.
I've been using Cheeky's spreadsheet for a while now and just the other day I noticed that wind serpents seem to deal a good 30-40 more dps (on the sheet) due to lightning breath being a much better focus dump (I use a cat atm). Can anyone comment/confirm this? I've had my cat since level 10 so it's unlikely I'll ever change it, but still, 40 dps is a lot.

It has been mentioned but we all noticed it and when 'huh' at one point or another. Your pretty much dead on, basically once you hit a high enough amount critt, GftT will return too much focus for Gore to use and thus Lightning Breath which requires more focus to use starts to pull ahead.

But this makes me question myself on my self efficiency : the sheet tells me I should perform around 1200 raid buffed dps but the better WWS I can remember I perfom just a little less than 900 dps. Is the sheet a little optimistic or do you think I miss something in my gameplay ? Unfortunatly I can produce only this WWS and my armory to help you to figure.
Thank you again for the attention
Edit : I use a castsequence 1:1 macro and configured that on the sheet but it looks like it changed nothing on the theorical dps

The sheet gives your theoretical maximum DPS. That assumes 100% time in the fight (not realistic), able to stand in one place and shoot 100% of the time (mostly unrealistic), 200 latency and several other factors that will cause you to dip below that maximum in game.

Do note that if you have both an elemental shaman( or boomkin at certain gearlevels) and melee shaman your pet will eat StormStrike charges, lowering raid DPS.

Been reading a lot of posts on here and they have helped me greatly, however i have a dilemma. While i am always top 3-in DPS for raids i still want to improve. So what i want to know is what gear should i be looking at replacing, my guild will be starting on Kael and Vashj this week. I am going to replace my gloves with [Gauntlets of Rapidity]. Should i wait to get the boots from Vashj [Cobra-Lash Boots]?

I think you'll be better waiting for 2pcs T5 from SSC and they are gloves and pants, they are a bit weaker when it comes to pure stats than bages rewards but set bonus helps a lot especially for BM. If you want to sped badges on something you can get 2h weapon rather than gloves, you can check my armory it's not some super gear, pretty much your level

Long time reader, first time poster here.
My guild is starting to get into the T6 action so I am hear to make sure I am doing everything I can do put out as much damage as possible, or find out what I can change to do exactly that.
I figure the easiest way to do this is give you guys a link to my armory, a few of my basic stats, the consumables I usually use, and a few WWS reports. I am making this post with the understanding that most of you know the ins and outs of the technical side of hunter DPS better then I. I thank anyone that takes the time to read this and post a reply in advance. Your advice will be highly appreciated and put to good use. =)
B.M. spec 41 / 20
1883 AP without imp. hawk (1993 with hawk)
26.73 crit
110 haste rating
1.90 attack speed
134 hit (127 is cap for dranei hunter i believe)
4 piece tier 5
Link to Armory : Rekill's armory
WWS raid links shown below. The ones of BT / MH are all me and my guilds 1st, 2nd, or 3rd kill of those bosses.
SSC April, 15th
M.H. rage, anatheron kill, Kaz - first attempt April, 16th
Akama, Supremus kill. Wasn't there for Naj April, 20th
Naj, Supremus, Akama kills. April, 23rd
I usually use Agi/mage blood elixer combo, Kibler's bits, 20 Agi food - and fel mana / sup. mana potions when needed and mana oils on fights that i know mana will be an issue.
this is my macro for my shot rotation:
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
/cast Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
As far as how I implement it - I don't try to weave any shots, I don't try to change macros or rotation speeds if I get certain haste bonus's / buffs. I just spam the ever living shit out of the key thats bound to that macro 100% of the time... as fast as i can possibly press it, over and over until I have to move. Then I toss in an arcane shot while I move to my new turret location and go back to spamming the hell out of that button. I hunter's mark everything I hit and My pet is always assisting me.
I am open to ALL info / suggestions. Anything from different consumables i should use / which piece of badge gear i should get next / Different pets i should use (wind serpent maybe?) / Gems and enchant changes.
Once again I thank you all in advance. I'm sorry for the large post. I am the hunter lead of this guild and want nothing more then to have the knowledge / skill to properly advise them in increasing their DPS. I figured the best way to do that was to make sure I was doing everything properly first

Hello,
My Hunter is SV and my guild is currently in 5/5 MH and 3/9 BT. What I am hoping I could get help with is the validity in +10 haste rating enchant on gloves vs. +15 agi enchant.
I am fully aware that +agi boosts my EW effectiveness, but what I would like to understand is if in the end game content, for personal dps reasons, would the +10 haste rating pull ahead of +15 agi? fwiw, I plan to spec out of EW shortly and have another guild hunter fill the role.

I'm not sure 10 Haste Rating will ever be enough to over take 15 Agility, but it depends on spec and gear since haste scales a lot more than agility does. Plug your numbers into Cheeky's spreadsheet and play with the glove enchant.

Hi fellow Hunters!
I really struggle with the theorycrafting, and can't really figurer out if I'm using the right macro, or not.
The World of Warcraft Armory
That is me, a blend of BT and Sun Well gear!
The macro I am using now is the 2-split macro, that should prevent auto shot from delaying
Manito's Modified 3:2 Steady Shot Macros - that's the one.
But, I am unsure if that is the correct and the best to use! I really tried, but well - it's just so confusing .. Atm I throw out a max of 2100 dps at Brutalis, and that is my record. The average must be around 1700-1900 dps.. When I look at WWS Scoreboard I realize, that this should be a lot higher?!
Thanks for your time

I edited out the rest of your post for length, now on to the changes you can make.
Right off the bat, I notice you're still using Kara cloak and both rings. The [Dory's Embrace] cloak from badges is quite a bit better than that unless you're running survival. Also, if you dont need the hit, replace your ring of a thousand marks with your hyjal rep ring. if you havent completed that quest, convince your guild to do it. when fully upgraded, those rings are the best in the game. The season 3 ring would also be a viable option if you cant get the hyjal rep ring.
As for pets, stick with your ravager for now. Your crit is too low for a wind serphent to really shine.
Your Mp5 is extreemly low. If you have blue slots, replace those gems with the +AP, +Mp5 purple gems to help your pewpew last longer without chain chugging pots.
Otherwise, you look pretty solid. Maybe a bit over-stacked on haste, but based on your WWS logs it appears to be working quite well for you.

Hello Hunters!
My guild is currently hitting MH/BT. I arrive home after raid starts and I am trying to be ahead of the gear curve as best as I can, so when I do get invited late in the raid, I don't gimp the raids DPS. I'll post my armory link. Besides the badge vendor X-bow is there any gear that I am missing that I can obtain? Any other tips?
Thanks for the help!

Quick Questions:
As a BM hunter, do I want to stack AP or Agility?
And my guild is now doing bosses in BT. At the moment I have the t5 shoulders, but if the beast shoulders drop off akama should I take those. And if I take those and get another piece of t5, should I use the shoulders and my new t5 piece instead of the shoulders?

Hey everybody, i seldom post here on EJ forums but im in kind of a bind. My guild is doing attempts on Brutallus and I wanna fine tune my dps so i wont be a liability. Can anyone help me by giving me a steady/auto macro that i could use with my wind serpent? I use the Bristleblitz Striker from Archimonde, but I am currently saving up badges for the xbow. I know a 3:2 macro would be best for my slower weapon and a 1:1 for the faster xbow. Is there a macro guru who could craft two macros to help me out? I'd be eternally grateful.

As BM, and a hunter period, id say stack agility always. A raiding hunter will always get the most bang for his buck with agi. For your guild's progression level, 4pc t5 and the beast-tamer shoulders would work wonders for you. That is the best gear setup for a long time. The +hit of t5 pieces, the set bonuses, and the bonuses of those shoulders are hard to give up. I'd say use 4pc t5 and the shoulders if you get the chance too.

Two quick fire questions (seeing as the search tool wasn't finding the answers I wanted) :
Beforehand heres my armory link : Morgy
So currently in a guild working on Kalecgos at Sunwell, I was wondering if there has been any theorycrafting surrounding [Shattered Sun Pendant of Might], Currently Aldor, so considering the 200pa proc buffs the pet and myself, I reckoned it was more interesting than [Choker of Endless Nightmares], but I came here to look for a definate answer. If anyone could clear this issue up for me that would be great.
Next question then,
Currently I am using the following ring combo :
[Stormrage Signet Ring] and [Band of the Eternal Champion], Seeing as I have acces to loot from pretty much anywhere outside the sunwell (and tk/ssc, don't go there anymore), could I get a better combination of rings ?
Edit : Adding in an extra little question whilst i'm here, probably been answered multiple times, but having recently acquired my 4p bonus of my T6 set, should I switch from a 1:1 rotation to a 3:2 rotation ? If so could anyone provide the macro itself ? (Please don't hit me if this has been asked many times before, but as I said, making the most of posting a few questions to chuck in a last one)
Thanks in advance
- Morgy, Hyjal EU-Fr
