Thanks for all of the info you guys are putting out there, when you listen and use it, it works.
One question tho: I am CC situation, what shot do you use to replace Multi-Shot with in your shot rotations?

Just some feedback you may find useful.
RE: hit. It's a generally agreed that prioritizing +hit (unless you're not already capped) will yield the best results pound per pound. I assume you were referring to Surefooted and not Killer Instinct.
RE: 3:2 rotation. It's supposed to be attained using a /cast /cast macro in a hasted situation that brings you to sub 2.0 weapon speed (this already takes into account your 500ms latency) It's not something you manually time or plug into a /castsequence. You're better off with a 1:1.x as you've already proven for yourself.
RE: CC situation. Depending on your mana requirements and outlook on raid synergy, you may opt to use this chance to refresh scorpid sting. That way your BM comrades don't have to interrupt/change their rotations.
About the spec, if you're going that deep into the surv tree anyway, wouldn't a 0/31/30 suit you better? Do remember that in a raiding situation Agi will stack thanks to Kings and MotW while AP won't.
End of the day though, play what you're most comfortable with.
PS: I think your queries are better suited in the "Help me Please" thread.

Hi, I thought I'd leave some input here. I've been raiding marksman ever since my guild started BT//MH and this is how I maximized my dps... (only works with a 2.9 bow with NO lag/haste or easy with a 3.0 bow)
Sidenote: I only read the top post, not all the subsequent replies, so forgive me if I'm repeating what someone else said.
My specc is:
7/45/9 Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Notes with the specc: yes, I know it doesn't have barrage or imp. barrage, because of reasons that I'll explain later. I also have imp. hunter's mark, but only 4/5 because i'm too fond of silencing shot, for only raiding, silencing shot can be left out ofcourse and 5/5 imp mark can be achieved.
My shot rotation is as follows:
Auto -> Steady -> Arcane -> Auto -> Steady -> Repeat
<OR> pushback, lag and mana permitting (works 100% with my 3.0 bow ofcourse)
Auto -> Steady -> Arcane -> Auto -> Steady -> Multi -> Auto -> Steady -> Arcane -> Auto -> Steady -> Repeat
Sidenote for shot rotation: using this shot rotation, I manage 100% efficient use of cooldowns... meaning no down time not casting anything. Also Kill Command is used whenever possible.
Shot Macro:
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=2/target !auto shot, Steady Shot, Arcane Shot, Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();
Because of the weapon speed, I can just spam this macro, because it can't clip autos, unless I get pushback ofcourse.
This specc gets me to top 5 atleast and on many fights second or sometimes first on dps (thinking archimonde for example) the only disadvantage is the use of AotH... thats also why i dont have Imp. AotH, because any haste, be it the proc OR heroism, gimps my dps, even if I switch to 1:1 rotation. This does make me seriously bleed mana, but using AotV, I don't go OOM on any fights, AotH is only used on short fights or when I have a resto shaman in my group or on the rare occasion, a shadowpriest
Hope this helps.
P.S. BoS is useless, considering I still do 1.5k-1.7k tps with it, my only rescue is FD not resisting

I was BM for a very long time until I hit level 69 last year. In July.
I would really appreciate your feedback after looking at my armory and such. to what spec do you think I should do? My guild is starting to get rather serious with raiding. I Only PVP when I am bored and nothing else to do. I don't think I would be good at micro managing my pet...I am guilty of not using him in most cases since I went marks last year. So I really cant say how well I would do these days since I havent been bm for a while...What spec do you think Would be best for me with my current gear and such?
I know with BM cookie cutter my ap will go down drastically. But so many people are suggesting I do it. I am also the only capable trapper in my guild...too many hunters screw it up...so I suppose I am kinda scared to lose the trapping talents. Sorry for the wall of text...I just want some advice from you.

Like I said in the original thread, everyone knows and accepts BM as the highest DPS spec for raiding. It boils down to playstyle. A good hunter is a good hunter is a good hunter regardless of what build he's going to pick. If you're balls-out badass at what you do, your guild isn't really going to question your specific raid builds unless its clearly a PVP oriented one. I also see you've gone back to BM, so you answered your own question - albeit 2 months later. heh.

Aetheria:
Interesting spec. While I was still a hunter, I ran with a slightly different spec: (15/43/3)
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
The three points in Imp. Arcane are filler but the spec harkens back to the old 20/31/0 spec in the Naxx days. Hawkeye can go and sink into Ferocity/Combat Experience if desired but I generally found until I was asked to swap for a tree that the extra range helped in minimising movement and maximising pew pew time.
Rotation was the standard 1:1.5 rotation (Auto, Steady, Special, Auto, Steady, repeat)
Ran with Agi/Draenic elixirs, Timeless ammo for bosses and Superior Mana oil. Stock-standard buffs and AotH was the aspect of choice and chain-chugging fel manas while adjusting the shot rotation from 1:1.5 to 1:1 to micro manage mana supply with AotV being an option once I hit around 40% mana.
Top 5 DPS in the raids and typically beats out the BM hunters. BM was my ace in the sleeve in the event I needed to unlock everything I possibly could. Gear never progressed far enough to really push the charts though.
I'm going to be very interested to see how things turn out in the WotLK especially since the bane of our existence (Auto shot clipping) has been eliminated.

I strongly disagree that proc'd haste buffs will decrease a MM hunters DPS. With IAotH you can still fire <Auto-Steady-Arcane-Auto>, you just have to adjust your timing on the fly. With Heroism, Rapid fire, or if you have multiple haste buffs up (drums+IAotH), a 1:1 rotation will not gimp your dps. You may not be able to spam ur macro for the best dps, but I have never felt MM required shot rotation macros anyway. As far as not using aspect of the hawk as MM, you need to figure out ways to keep ur mana up without viper. Between mana oil, mana spring totem, judement of wisdom, fel mana pots, there shouldnt be any reason you need to use viper.
edit: I didn't check that spec ur running with til just now, without improved multishot you are neglecting the main dps shot MM uses, which could explain why haste doesnt benefit you as much.

I do realize that posting here is bringing a dead thread back to life however I have some theories regarding hunter DPS in Sunwell and am hoping for someone with enough gear to give it a shot. My theory is that with the legendary bow aswell as some of the static gear that has haste on it in Sunwell, Marksman may actually beat Beast Mastery in terms of dps. The reasoning behind my theory is because of the way the spec scales with raid haste affects.
Let us assume the marksman hunter has some static haste, using a 2.7 (the legendary weapon speed) aswell as some other static haste items: Clutch of Demise and Cloak of Unforgivable Sin are good examples as the buff the hunters dps aswell as add some static haste. All together with a 15% quiver speed your paper doll will be 2.25 attack speed as MM. I'm using the spreadsheet I've written to calculate all of this by the way. Spreadsheet can be found here. 2.25 Paper doll speed is fairly manageable and scales well with raid haste buffs allowing a MM hunter to maintain a 3:2 2:1 1:1 rotation easily.
A BM hunter with no haste gear and the legendary bow alone will be at a 1.95 paper doll speed. This is a very hard speed to manage when running multiple haste buffs. Immediately you would be able to notice clipping in your shot rotation. Hell, popping Rapid Fire alone puts your paper doll at 1.39. The fastest tested speed at which a 1:1 rotation can be preformed is 1.59 Paper doll.
I would be very interested to see a Marksman hunter with the gear willing to test out my theory and post some WWS / combat logs for parsing.

Great post but one more thing about BM / MM, been raiding in BT for a while now and it seems fights get more and more pet unfriendly, so my question is - in Sunwell Plateau, will my pet die constatly or are the fights pet friendly, cuz I'm looking for good hunter balance to start in SWP, i know survival is essential, but rly need to know if BM / MM is best in sunwell, and if trueshot aura has any use against ferocious inspiration.
thanks

Like some other people have posted, i havent read the WHOLE 10 pages of replies to the original.
But great posting, i have been raiding as MM since Pre BC. and trying to find info about the spec is... has been very hard.
What do you think about stacking amour pen instead of haste as an MM spec. I have 2.5k RAP 27 crit and between 145 and 205 hit. so i was going to create for myself, bracers of lighting reflexes but read this post and decided against it.
I also find the Mm spec better for kiteing, specifically in Hyjal trash, were we have 2 hunters kiteing things to get the NPC into the fights. I often look over to see the other hunter (BM spec) face splatered all over the ground coz the mob has caught him / her and they get eaten. BM hunters laugh at me when i say sactter shot saves me more times then i can count.
Cheers Dell

Hey all Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. I'm 0/31/30 atm and I have been pvp'ing (bg's) all the time since my son was born, as 5 man/raiding time has not been ideal for me. I'm wanting to know, because crit is supposedly the most important stat for pvp along with resilience, that since I'd only need hit for pve, could I go full MM for pvp now? And how would it affect me the most? I know with my current spec I do get high crits often so I'm hesitant to change, but would gladly accept some input.
Here is my armory: The World of Warcraft Armory
Thanks for any and all help in advance

I'm also one of those die-hard MM hunters who gets ragged on in forums. The problem for me is that I excel with competition, and to date, I have not met a BM hunter who has out-dpsed me or even come close. I've changed servers multiple times, starting from Spirestone and Skullcrusher, two very matured servers. Granted, those were the times of Karazhan and Gruul, but it still stands today. I'm sure I'm not doing anything revolutionary, but I did notice that from this thread, there are a few things I do that have not been mentioned. First of all, my spec is as follows :
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
It varies slightly, as I can't always decide between rapid fire and arcane cooldown (not for rotation so much as for utility during kiting, etc.) but I only use rapid fire during Bloodlust and pop an AP trinket with Auto Fire only, which allows me to regain mana and keep my damage up at the same time, as the shots are pretty much one right after the other. To explain a bit, I don't waste points on anything that doesn't immediately net damage. No improved range, no chance for a slight speed increase (which, as I found, actually decreases your damage at 2.43 because it brings you just below the time needed to fit all of my shots in between the autos, as I believe Cheeky stated earlier). Putting extra points in BM gives me a bit of a damage boost, both with 2% total increase (hence the improved revive pet) and in my pet's damage, which as stated, should never be ignored. If you successfully control both your pet and your rotation, an MM hunter should not be put down.
My rotation is as follows :
Steady
Steady
Arcane
Steady
Steady
Multi (if viable)
Steady
Steady
Arcane
Steady
Steady
Serpent
Why Serpent? Because I have a .2 second window in which nothing else can be cast, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to combat this without changing haste and completely redoing my rotation, so any damage is better than none in that situation.
As far as mana issues go, I rarely go OOM in Raids so long as I have potions. I won't pretend to be the best hunter ever, nor the most experienced, but in all of the guilds I've ever been part of, I have been in the top 3 damage-wise in almost every raid. This doesn't always mean much - of course it is fight specific and depends on a lot of factors - but everyone is always floored when I come to the raid with an MM spec (what some would consider a BAD MM spec) and wipe the floor with their regular BM hunters. My only conclusion so far has been that they simply don't know how to control their spec, and that I'm one of the few who has bothered to explore other options.
What I find about MM is that it's extremely flexible, allowing for regular movement during a fight without interrupting your rotation (more time in between GCD and steady), which could give me the edge in a lot of fights. I also find it to be easier to control while lagged, although I generally don't have bad latency. It is nearly impossible to accidently clip your auto shot, and there is very little time between shots, so that everything flows quite nicely. I have a speed of 2.43 I believe.
I've made my own spreadsheets (which is how I devised my rotation - I'm a visual person, so I used blocks) and found that so long as I have a shaman and BoW, my mana regen is sufficient for average fights. With a flask, food, buffs, and AotH, my attack power is at an impressive 2700+ (for my gear, anyway), but my crit rating is lacking. I wish we would recruit a feral druid. Anyway, what I'm getting at here is that the shadow priest can find another group - we typically have three or four paladins and three shaman in a raid, so I'm getting everything I need. I'm generally used as an AP whore for the rogues and fury warrior though, so I don't always get those beneficial buffs that every hunter wishes they had. My guild leader places me and the BM hunter together with the rogue and the fury warrior, and either a shaman (enhance with windfury) or our ret pally.
I have tried BM on several occasions, only to become frustrated and switch right back. Using all the special macros, binding my trinkets and TBW to fire instantly on availability, and other such things, I still could not out-dps myself as MM. I'm going to own that up to not having any additional haste in my current gear, but it can't be as huge a difference as I was seeing in damage between the two. Only other excuse I can think of is that I simply am not used to BM and so can't function the same way with ease.
Sorry for the long post, but perhaps you can gain something from it or add to it.

So, I am debating whether I should be diplomatic or not, and I've decided to go with blunt - but not because I want to be insulting. I'd really like to see if what you believe is true. However, it's my opinion that you must be playing with the worst hunters ever in the history of the world.
First, your armory link appears to be broken or out-of-date. If you could fix that it would be helpful in evaluating what is going on (i.e. what weapon you're using).
Second, your rotation doesn't even mention where your auto-shots are falling. I assume you're using a modified 1:1.5, which makes sense. However, you've got a ton of wasted talent points with both barrage and Improved Arcane. The only reason to ever use IA is if you want to remove multi from your rotation, so why bother to improve it? As it stands, your multi-shot should do far more damage than your Arcane shot, so should be prioritized first.
Third, with 4 points in IA, I fail to see how you could ever find a point when neither multi, nor arcane was off cooldown. You should be able to do a 1:1.4 using only arcane shot, so you should have no trouble performing a 1:1.5 without ever resorting to serpent sting. Even if you had to, because, say, you were using a bow that was too fast (Crossbow of Relentless Strikes), I'd venture to say you're costing yourself 50 or more dps by using serpent sting rather than just firing an extra Auto-Steady (spreadsheet with some pretty common T6/badge gear and the raid buffs you stated).
If you really think you've found something, and as much as I don't think you have, it's possible, please get a WWS log of some of your most typical raids. I'd love to see it.

Sorry, when I created this account my information was different, and I've not changed it (didn't realize it wouldn't update). Here's a link to my current armory, although I'm in shadow resist cloak from the raid last night, and I recently got some new gear, so I need to regem, replace, and enchant. The World of Warcraft Armory
To answer your questions, here's the sheet I used to find my rotation. It is a rough work, and glancing back, it's very, very off in a lot of ways (I see the errors, no need to add on those), but it did help me significantly in finding my rotation and deciding between trinkets, etc.
http://www.geocities.com/kellephantm...iondiagram.htm
If the timing is off, feel free to let me know, but it seems to work beautifully when applied in game.
Auto shots are falling after every shot. Steady (auto) Steady (auto) Arcane (auto) Steady (auto) etc. and so forth. That is the beauty of the rotation. WWS are here - this is the best example I can give atm, and is more recent. You can see the others as well, though I kite in Hyjal, and the other fights were Gorefiend attempts. Wow Web Stats

Thanks for that. I see you are using the chicken-bow, which is probably the cause of some of your rotation woes. However, your speed is still such that you shouldn't need to resort to serpent. You can even see that in your spreadsheet, simply replace the serpent stings with multi-shots. Also, you need to take a long look at the way shot mechanics work if you believe that is what's happening. If that were the case, your auto would need to be at around 1.5 speed to even have a chance of firing after ever special, and even that wouldn't work because of clipping. Here is what actually happened during the beginning of your Rage fight:
Arcane
Auto
Multi
Auto
Steady
Steady
Auto
Steady
Arcane
Auto
Steady
Steady
Steady
Auto
Multi
Steady
Auto
Steady
Arcane
Auto
Steady
Steady
...
As you can see, it's just all over the place. It's similar for the Anetheron kill. In short, you should take another look at the shot rotation illustrated thread (or wait until 3.0 hits and none of this matters any more). You should also take a look at the other hunters in your guild, because, while your rotation is a bit of a mess, you are outperforming them by miles and miles. They are truly abysmal.

Yes - might I add I had an entire bottle of wine at that point? =P I wasn't following rotation at all. In fact, halfway through our last fight, I literally passed out until he was dead. Whoops. But as I said, it's the only example I can really give. I'll attempt a better night tonight with a serious attempt at keeping my rotation firm. We'll see how that goes and you can check it out after 12pm tonight.
I am aware that our current hunters are terrible. I wasn't looking for a comparison there. But there was a time when I came across a better-geared, skilled BM hunter back when I was in Unrighteous, and we were neck and neck until I finally surpassed him due to my survivability. When I play correctly, I do very well with it. Everyone has their bad days...
Anyway, I cannot use Multi - the cooldown is just a TINY bit too long, and you'll see that in the spreadsheet.
Also, keep in mind the nature of Rage. Avoidance is a big part of it, and being drunk doesn't help me reset my rotation correctly. =P

Right, the cooldown is a bit too long because you're using the chicken bow. However, the rotation you should be using as marks (or survival) is Auto, Steady, Multi, Auto, Steady, Auto, Steady, Arcane, Auto, Steady. At this point, because of your bow, you choose to insert an Auto, Steady, Serpent.
Now, this actually surprised me, but this will give you a dps gain. 1548.46 vs. 1515.45 (that you would get from simply inserting another Auto, Steady before repeating the rotation).
However, you lose over a minute and a half of mana longevity. So, if you are keeping topped off without switching to viper, great job. Otherwise you should rethink it. Also, you don't need any points in Imp. Arcane to do this, so they are totally wasted (other than your aforementioned use when kiting).
Now, this is totally respectable if you can pull it off. The fact remains, though, you could respec BM and bump your dps another 60-70 points, not to mention the gains from The Beast Within, easier use of rapid fire, double the mana life, and the better benefit that would add to your party from FI.

Yeah, but like I've stated, I can't seem to get my BM up to par with my MM. The time it would take for me to improve it to current standards or better would be the time it takes for the xpac to come out, which makes it a hinderance rather than a gain. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if I can try it out. Yeah, generally mana isn't a problem. Occasionally when our overall DPS is bad and the fight is drawn out, I'll run pretty low and have to swap aspects, but that's on a bad night. Regarding your suggestion on rotation though, could you explain it in a little more detail? Like I said, I'm a visual person, so it's hard for me to understand it as you put it.
Edit : Oh, I see what you're saying. You're saying I am right to put that extra shot in there since my bow is slightly slower than the typical MM bow. Right?

I am a horrible drawing person, so I can't. However, you can find great examples of the rotations in the "Shot rotations Illustrated" thread, as well as Whytefist's great research in the Survival Hunter thread.
If you have access to Manito's macro, which you mentioned, and the ability to scroll your mousewheel or push a button really fast, that is literally all that's needed. There is no learning curve whatsoever. Perhaps you haven't tried since the 2.3 patch?
Edit: Yeah - that's actually a good find. It will give increased dps, but your mana really is going to take a hit. If nothing else, it stops you from using haste potions instead of mana ones (though at your progression level, I probably wouldn't recommend wasting the gold on haste potions anyway).

Yeah, the point of my spreadsheet was to maximize DPS with what I had available. Trust me, if I could be choosy, I would certainly do things differently, but as is with the gear I have now, this is the best I can do to the best of my knowledge. As far as BM goes, the attempt was a while ago - but I've never heard of "Manito's Macro". Do you have a link? I created my own macro based off of the spammable 1:1/kill command form, adding trinkets to it. Are you saying that without changing any of my gear, I could be doing 30-40 extra dps as BM? Or would I have to add haste and take pots?

This is all rather well detailed in the generally active threads (which does not usually include this particular thread).
What he means by adding an extra shot instead of a sting is that while serpent sting is an instant shot, the 1.5 second global cooldown afterward means that it is no more time efficient than a steady shot, and for more mana and less total damage.
I would say 30-40 extra DPS from BM is severly lowballing it.
I'll give you the 30 second intro to maxing your DPS in raids as a hunter pre-3.0 WoW:
The link to Manito's 3:2 is here Manito's 3:2 although since a recent patch a basic 3:2 macro like this should work fine (Manito's is messy):
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast Steady Shot
/cast [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
BM raid spec is this: BM Raid Spec
Hit cap for hunters is 142. Gem agility, not Attack power. Ravager. Have fun.
Edit: I must throw the disclaimer - seeing as how this is the MM thread -, that there is an interesting possibility in my mind of an MM hunter with a BM subspec (20/41/0) performing quite well, assuming they can get auto speed below 2.2 or so and in a drumming group (ie. has legendary bow, some passsive haste, 4T6, and a DST) using a heavy steady rotation ala the 7/x/x survival hunters. I'm not quite at that gear level, but I can get to 2.28 and have a DST. I'll suppose I'll try to see what I can muster before 3.0 launches, but in reality this is just a toying thought.

3:2 MM Raid Parse
(Pre v3.0)
So my guild is wrapping up 25 man raiding in TBC shortly, and although I am a BM hunter by trade, I have been tempted to apply the tactics of the IAotH survival style, applying a heavy steady setup to a marksman build. Someone suggested this idea previously and I had been curious. Considering this may be the last (or next to last) week that I will have a chance to get a decent parse, I went ahead and tried it out. While I don't have the best gear, I tend to think I have the basic pre-requisites for this style of play; 4T6, a DST and 80 passive haste.
Spec was this: 20/41/0
No barrage talents, no Imp Arc shot, 20 points in BM for pet DPS.
Used Manito's 3:2 macro. Pet was a wind serpent.
Some raid buffed stats:
3221 ap, 35.18% crit, 139 hit
Base draw speed: 2.32 seconds (smooth 2:1)
IAotH: 2.02 seconds (3:2)
DST proc: 1.94 seconds (3:2)
IAotH+DST: 1.68 seconds (1:1)
Rapid Fire: 1.66 seconds (1:1)
Group composition was, well, not so great. Had a feral druid for Rage only. Was really regulated to a caster group. Had a shadow priest the whole night (mana wasn't really going to be a major issue however, so this is by no means a pre-requisite). I was the only drummer (and ran out - fail). Ret pally and BF warrior in raid. No heroisms or any other buffs in raid.
Here is my result:
Hyjal 9/30
(Yes, thats an Azgalor wipe in there (haha), don't ask me how that happend, second Azgalor I got Doom, was well out ahead of other DPS at that point; le sigh). It does list me as BM, but the trueshot aura listed under my buffs should prove otherwise.
For a comparisons sake, here is a somewhat recent parse as BM spec:
Hyjal 9/16
Again, I'm the odd man out here, in the caster group again (moonkin aura!) - we rotate about 35 raiders, so group composition is not always optimized.
DPS breakdown:
Spec: 20/41/0 | 41/20/0
____________________________
Rage: 1861 | 1704
Anth: 1620 | 1665
Kaz: 1859 | 1819
Azg: 1478 | 1471
Naj: 1419 | 1544
Comparatively speaking, this actually got close to my normal BM spec in final numbers. My pet appeared to represent about 15% of my damage as well, which I found to be quite respectable. A heroism or 2 would have been huge, as would a consistent drum rotation - oh well. All in all, not too bad, seemed to perform much better than the 7/48/6 build, and at a much cheaper mana cost.
Considering it was still a slightly more mana expensive build than a normal BM spec, has fairly rigorous gear requirements (and the warlocks got a kick out of trueshot aura), I don't think I'd say its the way to be, although it actually did fairly well.

Has marksmanship become a viable PvE dps spec with the patch? I'm specced marks at the moment, it certainly seems to be performing quite well.

Yes. With serpent -> (steadies->chimera) rotation (or one that includes Aimed with new barrage talents) it's raidaible now (on the other hand survi is behind now).

Well I am using this spec at the moment and it seems really prommising.
The World of Warcraft Armory
Hit is no issue anymore. The most important thing for me here ia stacking Ap, crit a haste if possible. Currently I am at 2.52 weapon speed.
Still can't show you my dps, tonight i am going to test it on Brutallus. Although i need to change 3-4 more gems.
The macro I am using is standart for the steadyshot, including ,rabid and kill command.
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/cast Steady Shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Rabid
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();
And the rotation is..after casting hunter's mark SS and pet attack
macro, macro...chimera (on cd or wait till the last 2-3 ticks of the serpent sting) then macro again.
It does make enourmous dmg, on a single target, mana is not an issue at all.
For trash or bosses with adds, our multi and vollay does perfect job. No need for points in barrage since the mortal shots effect only yellow dmg, so this will give us even more dps with the aoe when it crits.
Anyway I will post the wws on Brutallus tonight.
If yoyu have any coments, please let me know
But acording to some friends, forums and spreadsheets the answer is yes, MM might be even better than BM if played the right way.

Whats your Shot Rotation?!

Exactly. While it isn't what BM is, I've always been a huge fan of the MM spec's finesse. Its far ahead of Survival and a ton of fun for PVP as well. My biggest gripe is the inaccessibility of scatter shot. With the 3.0.3 changes today I'm curious to see what if any major difference Aimed shot will have.

Very much so.
While I'm a BM, and likely won't go from that for some time yet (might dabble with MM later). I noticed in my MH raids where I was MM for some Volley fun, that I wasn't that much lower than I usually was as BM. This of course has to take into account a different style of play and skills I'm not used to using. I'm sure I missed some timely Rapid Fires and Readiness resets. Stuff I would never miss as BM because I'm so use to it.
And of course TSA helps out if you have Enhancement Shamans. They suddenly save 5 talent points that can be used on DPS talents somewhere.
I say, if you like MM, play it. Chances are you will provide much better rDPS than as BM since the personal DPS gap is much much smaller now.
