This is wrong, AP has always been better for BM and still is. My sheet still shows it better than agi when I do Calc Attributes.

It's gear dependant. As with EVERYHING ELSE you need to refer to the spreadsheet.
YOUR gear might show AP better, but some people have shown that at higher gear levels, agi starts to take over again. Please stop postulating based only on your own gear/sheet.

That has gotta be pretty high gear levels, as the latest "Best Possible DPS" (updated 9/1/09) still shows AP edging out Agility.
It's probably more accurate to say with BM specs, agility and ap, per item budget, become roughly equal, with ap a small bit higher, once you are mostly in ilvl 245+ gear.

It seems that it might running a circle for BM.
Initially with T7 drops etc AP ruled because the critgains were limited (because of low crit). Then the crit rose as the stats in general rose. This meant that working on it would begin to reach high uptimes for Cobra Strikes. Now however, the critlevel is so high that there is diminishing returns for Cobra Strikes and all the other critdependant skills (not to forget that BM generally don't have more than 2 points in Mortal Shots), and so AP begin to return to the table. In any case, Agi and AP are seriously close.
And there are of course all the changes, not only to BM as a spec, to Hunters in general (Wild Hunt and Hit -> Expertise would improve the value of AP for BM) but to the spreadsheet in general. These combined can easily change the expected results to something different than 'last time'.
The only reliable answer is, go with what the sheet says, it is most likely to be very close to correct for your situation.

Great work Shandara. "Indispensable" is an understatement when it comes to your spreadsheet.
With the release of 3.2.2 this morning and a posting by my Raid Leader that we're going to head to Ony this evening, I am trying to Custom Gear tab some of the gear purported to drop from Onyxia (as per MMO-Champion).
Everything works great with the exception of Two Handers, since there is no line for them. Entering the stats into the "Main Hand" row just results in a really OP Main Hand after recalculating DPS. The "Main Hand" cell itself is protected, so I can't change it to "Two Handed Melee".
I searched the thread, but I didn't see this issue discussed - probably because Shandara is awesome about upgrading new gear quickly.
Might it be possible to add a Two Handed Melee row to the Custom Gear tab?

Does anyone know if the complete serpent sting crit fix for T9 made it into the patch? Blue said it was going in for 3.2.2, but it wasn't on the PTR last I had checked.

I believe this is intended. Simply model the Two Hander as an "OP Main Hand" as you say, and then select None for your Off Hand option in the Gear tab.

You are correct, there is no line for 2-hander. This is something I'll add in the next version.
I was waiting for Blizzard to add the 100% crit modifier for serpent sting crits before releasing a new version, but it does look like it won't be in this patch after all (at least not in the patch notes or per testing). Once I have some time this week I'll add the new Onyxia items (and some more missing things) and release the PTR3 version I was working on as a live version.
Of course they might have changed the build between PTR and Live to include the fix for this, but that will need testing first.

# Hunter Tier-9 2-Piece Set Bonus: Critical damage from Serpent Sting will now work properly with the Mortal Shots and Expose Weakness talents. (Taken from MMO-champion & WOR )
Shandara, is this what you were referring to or is it a separate issue with serpent sting that I'm unaware of?

She's referring to the blue post that indicated they'd be changing the crit modifier to be based on physical crit instead of spell crit. In the last PTR patch it hadn't been fixed yet. I'll check as soon as my server goes up but I think it's unlikely they changed it without a new PTR patch. If it didn't get fixed I'll try posting and see if we can get any indication of if this is going to be fixed before 3.3.

Ghostcrawler; Volley Buff (Source) 22/09/2009
The AP coefficient of Volley has been increased from 0.0586 to 0.0837. Base points did not change. This probably did not make the patch notes.

As far as I can tell, I'm getting about 171% crit damage (160% + 30% + meta). This non-existent buff with the arp nerf is not good for business.
Edit: to fix eyeball math.

Damage should be (1.5*1.03-1)*1.3+1=1.7085 or (2*1.03-1)*1.3+1=2.378. The 190% suggests you have some other modifiers you didn't control for or you rounded in some places.

The spreadsheet says 84,8% bonus dmg (calculations cell H85)
(Spell-Crit-Bonus + Mortal Shots) * Gem-Crit-Bonus
(0,5 + 0,3) * 1,03
0,848
so it should be 133,9% bonus if it got buffed
(Melee-Crit-Bonus + Mortal Shots) * Gem-Crit-Bonus
(1,0 + 0,3) * 1,03
1,339

I didn't bring out a calculator, but here are my numbers:
Average Serpent Tic: 712
Average Serpent Crit: 1218
So yes, 1.71
But wasn't it decided in a Blue post that serpent should get the physical modifier, so it should be doing 240% damage? Sigh.
Edit: Found it, this post: World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> [Bug] Hunter 2pc T9 bonus
