The notification of an illegal build is purely a visual one in the sheet. Nothing prevents you from ordering the talents as you want.
Understood. I meant more along the lines of a future iterative "optimal talent calculator". That would most likely result in an illegal talent build. For example, if you were hit capped solely from gear without gems and without any talent points in FA, and another hunter had 3/3 IHM, then if there was a "optimal talent calculator" it would likely show a build that is "illegal".
I apologize if this has been brought up but I didn't see it while skimming over. I was going through the spreadsheet and I realized that so far I only have one piece of H gear (Collar of ceaseless torment). It's showing that pretty much everything (Including the non-heroic version) is better than it. While I know that if I include heroic raids it'd be higher...I don't forsee myself getting much in the way of heroic gear for awhile and would prefer to see it in relation to the non-heroic pieces without seeing ALL of the heroic pieces. Is there a way to get around this?
Edit: I recalculated back down to non-heroic from heroic and now its doing what I wanted it to.
I have an addition I would like to suggest be included in the spreadsheet. Inlude Arcane Torrent Blood Elf racial in shot rotation tab or in the settings like the use of a mana pot. Arcane Torrent - Spell - World of Warcraft
Thanks so much for such a wonderful spreadsheet. I've been using it for quite a while now.
I have a question, when I clear the 25-man checkbox in the Gear Planner tab, several items that are purchasable with Emblems disappear also (for example, the Leggings of the Tireless Sentry). Am I doing something wrong, or have Emblem of X items not yet been updated to not be dependent on raid types (since we can get the emblems from dungeons now)?
First of all my compliments to you, Shandara, for this excellent spreadsheet!
I think I may have found a little snag, though. Of course hit rating is very much valued if you're not hit capped, but it seems like being over the hit cap means that gear with +hit is downrated more than it should be.
If I manually adjust my hit rating so 'Needed to cap Hit' is 0, the Onyxia Pendant is listed as most beneficial again, and no matter what my hit rating is, 'Hunter hit + 1' is always the most valued stat. I suspect this value needs to be changed to 0 once you're capped.
Some napkin math on Culling the Herd:
Looking at something around 20% crit rate for non-BM hunters on focus dumps, with a frequency of 1.25 (pet GCD). So uptime would be something like 1-(.8^(10/1.25))~=83% uptime. So about a 2.5% DPS increase.
